I was so disillusioned with seeing the same decks and problems on ranked mode that I have partly switched over to casual except for getting my rank 5 each month.
This way I can play whatever I like and enjoy it. And the losses dont hurt half as much. And there is a LOT less salt involved. I will happily try a netdeck to smash some homebrewnoobs or alternatively homebrew it up myself. I like casual for the very fact that I can play netdecks or homebrews without the pressure of that need to win. ;-)
Casual is just ranked but you don't have to worry about stars or legend points. The problem isn't the players or their netdecks though, it's Blizzard rewarding people for playing netdecks in casual. The only way to fix this problem in my opinion is to add in a method of obtaining rewards similar to Gwent in casual where your opponent is the one who decides if you are getting a reward or not. Whether it be 5 gold or 5 dust after the match. I think that would really incentivize casual players to try having a good time rather than tryharding. Remove 10g rewards from casual. Give players the ability to decide if their opponent deserves a reward, whether it be deck creativity or just good sportsmanship.
i dont think I've played casual since I was new to the game years ago. Im actually surprised to see so many people saying they use it to complete quests as if they only have 1 or 2 decks to play in ranked.
im bothered mostly by it when people are playing decks with very rock paper scissors match ups. like quest mage, quest rogue, kingsbane rogue. the auto win/lose thing just feels like it should be in ranked only. but like everyone else, they just want to win so its fine i guess.
I respect people who took their time learning the game and creatively inventing new type of decks. Without them, this game won't be as entertaining. And I bet, they'll be really proud and happy when they can beat tier 0/1 deck with their personalized one.
That's why I played cubelock at casual. To make them feel good after winning against me. I did it all for you guys..
Netdecking casual is the worst thing you can do in Hearthstone.
Nah, that honour is reserved for playing cube Warlock or Inner Fire Priest.
Casual is the perfect place to practice a netdeck or use one to complete a quest.
Some people have this weird notion that casual should just be for people who are either fairly bad at the game or just want to try weird meme decks. Sorry kids, but the playground doesnt belong to you, so no, you cant have your ball back! :-P
Casual is for anyone and everyone. Dont like seeing netdecks? Try an offline, solo player game because they’re not going anywhere any time soon.
There's really nothing wrong with it but it does amaze me how many people play competitive netdecks in casual. Don't people get bored? Are 99% of HS players robots?

I really don't mind if people netdeck or use tier 1 decks in casual. I personally see casual as just a relaxing way to play the game, where losing does not matter. I also keep in mind that some people use incomplete versions of certain decks in casual. So what may seem as "full tier 1 netdeck" might just miss some very important key cards. What is kinda silly people playing some of these top decks and just emoting.

Ladder is exactly the place to play Cubelock or Inner Fire Priest though.
In my opinion, Ladder is like playing professional sports, but where anyone can give it a shot. You wanna win on the professional level, you bring a professional level team (tier 1 netdeck). Casual is like going down to the local gym for a pickup game. Wanna screw around with your buddies for a fun game? Cool, gather your friends who are decent, but not the best, but just like to have a good time and see what happens (your average fun homebrew deck). But don't be that asshole that brings a pro team to a pickup game and then claim, "It's just for fun, why do you care about winning? It's just a pickup game."
If you've spent money buying cards or time grinding for them, they're yours to use however you want. I see no reason to believe that casual is supposed to be a sanctuary for decks that can't compete in ranked. If I want to get in some reps with a deck (netdeck or homebrew) before taking it to ranked I use casual, I don't care if you're trying to have fun with bad cards.
I don’t mess with casual unless in like rank 6 with a win streak going or below 4. Win rates are about the same Bc casual is filled with the same decks.
For me, casual is a place for people to play decks that they like without worrying about their rank. Some people really enjoy playing top tier decks. It doesn't really affect me though as I just wait for the beginning of the season and play all of my favorite deck for the first couple weeks in ranked.
Casual exists for new players and those who tire of the ladder grind and wanna play around with silly creative decks.
Really?? I'm very interested to see where that has been explicitly stated by Blizzard; otherwise it would be embarrassing if you were just making a statement like that as if it were fact and expecting other people to be forced to play how you want instead of however they like.
As opposed to where Blizzard has actually stated that ranks 50-26 exist purely for new players. And casual is a place to play whatever you want without the concern of losing ranks. Who cares if it's a silly home brew or a Top Tier deck that you want to practice to be better at. Selfish players will selfish...

well, all of your statements changed my mind. I guess I was selfish, you re actually right about what you said whole thread long.
I can stop bming my netdecker opponents in casual right now. I will start to bm them in ladder.
Jokes aside, that was nice, I rarely change my mind. I even changed my vote. :)
Memedeck-seeker. Always tries to build new decks. Hates tournements, streamers, netdecks and poor-o players. ah, but a tournement mode could be great !!!

It's lame asf, but I guess morons who can't think for themselves need a place to get a win right?
No, I said Cubelock or Inner Fire Priest are the worst things you can do in Hearthstone. Nothing about Casual or Ranked modes.
