Blizzard will never do this. Never in a million years.
A game mode like this would make the game a lot easier to enjoy for free players. Do you understand why that is not in Blizzard's best interest?
Hearthstone is not meant to be played for free in the long term. The only way Hearthstone exists is by converting free players to paying players, and to keep those players paying.
Without the incentive to buy more cards, the game would die immediately.
Kaladin's plan would work great if Hearthstone used a Living Card Game business model, where you pay a flat rate to get all the cards in a set, but that's not the model they chose.
Really? So a one-time payment probably wouldn't be enough. But a subscription model like WoW? People would still need to buy the cards so I'm not sure if it makes it better for free players even when accessible with gold. I guess it depends a lot of how it's implemented. It's also important to note that this isn't necessarily about Blizzard and how they chose to do things. I would be happy if someone else made a similar game but with even more focus on the casual aspect and maybe even go as far as do it with only crowdfunding.
The point was that I also would love such a "sandbox mode". And maybe it can be implemented by them if they do a subscription model. Or what else would be your suggestion how they "can afford" to implement something like this?
You clarified your point, but I was praying to anything that would listen that you weren't making the point you are. At this point I don't know if I'm getting trolled or what...I'm honestly baffled.
On the positive side, I'm definitely glad your point is only going to affect the win at the very least if there's no convincing you otherwise. I take your point to be inclusive that minion based quests (summon x, y, z, minions or summon x amount of y cost minions) go unaffected by this idea as well. Thus I'm responding assuming that we found some true clarification that ONLY the win-related quests can be denied by this supposed "format". To close on that clarification, at least that's not absolutely dreadful. What you're suggesting has the possibility to make the opponent think: "Ok I tried to go for the easy 3 Druid win quest in casual with Token, but I see my opponents are going to keep denying me wins because I could just as easily take this to ranked considering its current power level". To that extent, at least the idea is a bit less fantastical.
However, at the core this requires sooooo much back-end... not only do you both get to rate the match and decide the final outcome after playing, but then you get a notification that your opponent chose the negative outcome and thus you now have the right to change your mind because they chose the negative outcome for you. (Any other permutation of this idea would go into an infinite loop of pop up questions, so I'm assuming this is the way you'd suggest it go.) On top of that the point still stands that there is no way built into your system to decide if the player didn't have fun because they lost, or didn't have fun because they faced a net-deck. There has to be some way to build accountability and there isn't. What I've been trying to explain to you is your idea allows anyone unhappy to ruin it for others by jumping into games and slamming the "negative" option regardless of the cards played, difficulty of the deck, or its popularity.
You simply cannot create a mode where the user has all the power. MAYBE some of the netdecks go away because the stubborn players that try to Tier 1 your casual mode realize it doesn't benefit them to be there. But MANY MANY more will just queue in, finish the game, and vote all their opponents negative out of defiance sake alone. People are terrible to each other- just look at this thread... it's 9 pages deep and half of it is us and three other people arguing. It simply. Won't. Work.
That's some good points. But...
For one: As I said having a better communication system would probably be extremely important. So you can just ask why the other why they disliked the game. Although even now you can just add them and ask. But from my experience I didn't tried it too often, but when I did I always failed, lol. So a slight improvement here would be good.
Also I don't think there are That many people who will downvote no matter what and also wouldn't communicate on it. It's a rather small problem and just make it not work perfectly, but I don't think it has to work perfectly for it to be better than the current "casual". It's always hard to say, but I'm pretty sure that for example this thread is not really a good representation of the average player that would just "spam the negative option".
My answer to the poll is; netdecks in casual are perfectly fine BUT it is not okay to netdeck in casual with the specific goal in mind to leech off the questers with homebrews.
So here's my proposal: no more rewards for players that have reached legend in casual. Is that an idea?
All Blizzard have to do is to stop giving out rewards in Casual. That's it.
It's so simple.
The problem with removing all rewards from casual is that new players will have an even larger hurdle to catch up. Unless you want to keep being able to complete quests in casual but then you still get the high-ranked players completing quests.
The problem with casual really isn't that it gives rewards too, the problem is players using it as their personal farm. And players will always find ways to abuse the system, in the end by removing rewards the casuals are still punished most because they (we) are forced to play ranked to get rewards to get more cards to actually stand any sort of chance on the ladder.
All Blizzard have to do is to stop giving out rewards in Casual. That's it.
It's so simple.
Although the players who want to test their decks out before committing to the ranked ladder will still play their decks in casual (as that's what casual is for) and unfortunately players who seem to think casual is somehow exclusively for playing weird homebrew decks will still come on here with their entitled whining. I don't think it can be helped sadly....

It's a matter of respect. Some people have none.
Resepect is earned. Why would I have any respect for a random who wants to play garbagefire decks? If I had to limit my deck choice because of scrubs I'd end up not playing the game at all

This is fine as long as they offer enough "play X" quests to balance out the "win x games" quests. If a new player can "play 20 murlocs" by netdecking murloc shaman in casual, they can do the same on ladder. If a new player doesn't have access to a top tier deck in casual, they won't have access to it on ladder either.
Your argument doesn't make any sense.

I understand what you mean. It shouldn't work that way though. This is a game, it should be played for fun that's what a game is supposed to be. How much fun is it to simply throw together all the murlocs and try to get them out before being dead? Hope you'll only need 2 games tops to play those 20 murlocs (or whatever type of card) so you can go on having fun? Maybe you don't mind, but I do. I play to have fun.
I recently started playing on the Americas too, and I have found there is a huge difference in casual. In Europe yes there are some netdecks in casual, but usually those are either incomplete (missing crucial cards) or players don't know how to play them (yet) I also run into a lot of meme decks and basic decks as well. On the Americas however a lot more people netdeck, roping, and generally bm in casual. For now I'll probably keep to completing quests in brawl until I can make a decent deck to take to casual and maybe even ranked..
Nah the brawl is a just-for-fun mode (most of the time at least) I have no problem facing netdecks in casual, I don't expect people to give up on their rank when they want to try something new and need to practice it a bit. I do take issue with players that use casual to farm gold because it's easier to get wins there.
I find it disappointing. I like this game for the zany and creative deck building, and to find out that so many people are just here to grind gold and smorc it out with decks they couldn’t be bothered to build is kind of sad to me.
I know top tier metadecks have their place and everyone is entitled to play any mode with any deck they want. But I think it’s sad how little regard for creativity the majority of this community has.
it's going to continue to happen because it can. no point complaining about it and just move on. This is the general attitude you really need to have with this game I have found. a lot of things annoy me, but there is nothing I can do about them, and complaining about it here just puts you on trolls radars.
I learned this the hard way, so I hope I can pass this knowledge on to others, so they don't make the same mistakes I did.
same.. also I play there to do my quests. If I get a quest for a class I can't be bothered to play, I will just play in casual with a deck I specially build for the quest. I'll play deck full of spells, full of pirates, full or murlocs and just spam the cards till the quest is done.
Also it's an added bonus to beat gold farmers with their netdecked aggro decks, with a mage deck with nothing but cheap spells :D it happens a lot.
I always go to casual with a new deck first though to test it out, it just seems like the logical thing to do.
All Blizzard have to do is to stop giving out rewards in Casual. That's it.
It's so simple.
You can simplify it even more. Give the players the option to complete a daily quest in "ANY play mode". It's not like there aren't any quests that do that already. And it's not like there is more gold to be gained by doing it. All not allowing "any play mode" does, is force player interactions that usually results in one player feeling pissed off.
I've grown accustomed to facing net decks everywhere. So if I'm running a quest specific deck, I just crank out as many requisite cards as I can before I concede and move onto the next game to repeat the process. Since its casual, there is no risk of losing rank. The flip side to this is that not wanting to risk losing rank is specifically why I will test a net deck out in casual.
I generally feel every cry against a net deck in casual is a whiner mad some convoluted combo they are trying to pull off gets curb stomped by a more efficient deck. There are folks out there trying to be the next Trump, Kibler, Kripp, Kolento, or whoever the current streamer flavor of the month is.

Grammar is the difference between knowing your crap, and knowing you’re crap.
Just like people never complain to you about using bad homebrew decks with no synergy and probably a handful of nonsensical inclusions, you have no right to tell people what deck to play in casual mode. You can face a top tier deck in casual for a low of reasons:
1. Easy gold, because of the higher odds to face a meme deck. However this balances itself out due to a thing called mmr - if you win too much, you will probably get other tryharders.
2. Trying a deck you're uncertain of laddering with
3. Not wanting to emotionally burden yourself with ladder.
Now, the beauty of this forums is that, instead of whining that your meme decks get ran over, you can look for other people who play fun decks , add them, and enjoy each other's creations.

Yeah I think I am done with hearthstone for a bit. Sorry, but I have no desire to play token druid and murloc shaman netdecks in casual. I am trying to actually have fun.

Sheep can’t thin. Simple.
Remove gold from casual. It’s not a new player friendly game anyway, so how much difference would this make anyway.
Also, people who farm 100g are sad. 2-4 hours for like $1.50 worth of cards lmfao!
