I've been playing hearthstone for about two years now. I've always been a F2P player. It's getting harder and harder to grind out those daily quests and daily wins now as I'm getting busier with work and school. This whole 20 bonus packs with the preorder really got my attention and now that I have six more days to decide whether or not to do it I'm seriously considering it. What do people think is it worth it???
Do it! I've been playing since The Grand Tournament and this is the first time I've preordered. The 70 packs is so worth it. Also, Amazon is running a deal, 50 dollars worth of amazon coins for 40 dollars & you get a 25 dollar gamer sensei credit as well. So 70 packs and some coaching for 40 dollars is an absolutely amazing deal.
Not commenting on the pre-order, but blizzard said after patch they will reduce the daily quest criteria (e.g. play 50 cards -> 30 cards) and reward stays the same, so it will be much easier to do daily. Me personally feel like the daily quests are a chore in my everyday life and I'm glad they are making my chores easier.
Depends. I play all day at the office so it's worth it. If you are not having a good experience as a F2P, maybe. But heads on, you just get 2-3 legendaries so it is not sooo much difference.
Remember the rotation. The new cards will likely be more important than they would have been if this was the last expansion of the year. Unless you plan on mass dust, I would do it
For the number of packs yes. For the cards released for sure no. This is one of the wrost expansions ever seen like now. The card design is horrible (no news) and the level is even wrost.
Go for it! Forget the negative users who complain about everything. It's a game at the end of the day.
Like art; Heartstone is only really worth its value to you or unlike art, what you can sell it at to someone else. Hearthstone is a game you can invest your time and money in, but you'll never get either back. I buy every expansion because I enjoy playing the game, even though I don't agree with every card or decision the developers make..
People seem to feel like they're owed something.. I don't know many games that are churning out as much content as this one, so expect flaws from time to time. I'm just a bit sick of everyone saying things are shit all the time.
When buying into games (anything, not just HS), I've come to the conclusion that as long as I get $1 per hour of (enjoyable) play, then it's worth it. Therefore, because I spend (well) over 50 hours over 4 months on HS, the pre-order is a no brainer for me.
I also have a stable income, and free time to play which factors in too. Also, the first two weeks are the best cause no one knows what their doing, and its better to have more cards then, rather than grinding over the few months of the expansion.
This is my first time too, but I dont waste money, I buy the packs with the money from Playvig. I almost played 1000 games in two months, a lot of time invested.
It is worth it. Even if you don't see any new broken card, remember that this expansion will be in Standard for 2 years. Also, everyone hated Un'goro before it's release and it turned out to be one of the best expansions.

i actually stopped preordering due to how regularly these expansions are coming now... I definetly dont want to spend 100€ per year just for hearstone, only to see those cards i pay for go to Wild format which i dont really play!

I didn’t make the preorder and I am convinced. The cards are bad, the design effort in this expansion is too low so I will not preorder. Blizzard can give me 150 packs for the price of 50 and I will not preorder
I think that if hearthstone has entertained you for two years then you should support them for that. ALso, think about how much fun it'll be to open a 70 packs at once!!
I started playing HS in December and I've pre-ordered.
First is that I find 70 packs for the cost reasonable, though 80 would've been more fair.
Second is that by starting so close to the rotation, I ignored MSOG and Old Gods expansions except for the guaranteed legendary in the first 10 packs. Also didn't buy the Karazhan adventure.
Since I started in December, it got me around January to have a better grasp of the game. Only in February I decided to tackle Ranked. I got the Welcome Bundle, the Mammoth bundle and opened around ~50 KFT packs, a few classics from the Brawls, a few Kobolds and that got me decent enough to at least get a golden rare two months in a row in the ladder.
It was simply not worth crafting any meta deck since pretty much all of them relied on cards that will rotate and will be mostly gone with the rotation, so I was just patient in that regard in these 3 months and every resource was saved to craft golden Molten Giants for the HOF + 800 dust of profit if I want/need to disenchant them (have 2 Ice Blocks and Oracles from packs, lucky!).
So I have like 30-40 cards from the sets rotating. Now with the pre-order + freebies I will have 400+ cards from an expansion that will stay Standard for 2 whole years, will probably get the vast majority of commons/rares and a decent amount of epics and a few legendaries while maintaining everything I have from the Mammoth year. And I still have more than 4k gold in reserve and will have 4k+ dust as well. Dust will increase due to the duplicates.
The gold I plan to use on ~40 Arena Runs (which will give me 40 extra packs anyway + a few extra ones considering I'll still be doing dailies, ladder and winning some gold back plus dust). I don't plan to craft anything with my small amount of dust reserves. First is that decks will be very unrefined anyway. I remember when I started and Kobolds had just been released, I heard a lot about Big Hunter, using Kathrena, King Krush and etc. Even watched a tournament when Pavel used it. One month later or less, never saw the deck again, even ingame.
Second is that the only deck that apparently won't be changing much is Warlock, but the cost is so high (9k+ for me) that even if I disenchant everything from the pre-order, what I already have and will gain from the HOF I probably won't be able to afford it. And even if I do, I certainly didn't buy the new cards just to disenchant them right away only to play one deck over and over and over. So unless I get extremely lucky with packs from other sets, that's a no go.
I'll probably be saving the dust for the next expansion, aiming for around ~6k-7k dust. Gold around 8k-10k (4 months to gain 6k currently). And the pre-order if they continue with at least 70 packs.
About power level, you'll see some people complaining about it, but I'm actually really glad. Kobolds has so much broken shit I'm glad they're giving, so far, a break.
So, considering you feel you're having trouble keeping up, the pre-order will really help (I know it'll definitely help me). Even if you end up not liking this expansion, you'll still have some cards that sooner or later will see use and at the very least will save a lot of gold for the next expansion (if I get 8k gold in 4 months until the next (~2k per month, a modest goal), I'll have 12k and that would be 120 packs) to also be in a pretty good spot even without a pre-order. Or just flood myself with that expansion. Or just play lots of Arena. Or try to catch up with the Mammoth expansions.

It's definitely worth it, in my opinion.

This game doesn't deserve a dime. It's worth to buy some AAA game but not this f2p casino.
One day this game will stop existing. I can't wait.

How exactly do amazon coins work? Again I've never actually bought packs? If its legit 40$ for 70 packs I think I need to do it.
I really really disagree
OP, you won’t regret getting the preorder, I guarantee it.

Please don't tell my girlfriend about my card collection...
Just my two cents.

We are losing ~300 cards with rotation. If you can afford the pre-order will be a good investment
