With the random Shaman spell generations coming, I figured I'd throw together a list of every Shaman spell that will be in standard next year (with the exception of a few that have yet to be revealed).
Good spells:
Unstable Evolution
Hex
Lava Burst
Far Sight
Feral Spirit
Lightning Bolt
Decent/situational spells:
Healing Rain
Volcano
Tidal Surge
Crushing Hand
Spirit Echo
Bloodlust
Rockbiter Weapon
Windfury
Frost Shock
Lightning Storm
Ancestral Spirit
Earth Shock
Forked Lightning
Bad spells:
Lesser Sapphire Spellstone
Primal Talismans
Avalanche
Cryostasis
Ice Fishing
Ancestral Healing
Totemic Might
All in all, I'd say that, in any given situation, less than half the random spells with be at all useful. I'm hoping they're holding out on us and will have a handful of really strong versatile Shaman spells to reveal in the next week. Otherwise, the three shaman-spell-generating cards will be pretty bad.
Let's not forget that there hasn't been a single Shaman spell revealed for the expansion yet. I think that there is definitely a chance for RNG Shaman to make an appearance in the meta.
Thanks. Was just trying to figure this out. i have noticed that we have only really seen 4 shamen cards. plenty of room for events in there.
I'm hoping the new spells will do things like deal efficient damage and summon decent bodies, but they might just end up summoning basic totems and overloading you. We'll see!
Should be noted that a lot of the situational spells are still very strong and some of them come in handy in very common situations. Having biard clears is always really good, especially when they don't come at the cost of deck space
I appreciate the list, but I feel you're being a bit harsh saying less than half will be at all useful. Worth noting is that the strength of each spell is highly dependent on the deck being played. Unless you're playing witch's cauldron aggro, a shaman deck generating a lot of these spells is almost certainly a value-oriented midrange deck. I imagine lightning storm and healing rain will always be welcome sights. Cards like Cryostasis will always be pretty trash, but most of them have solid utility.

if it's any consolation, Ancestral Healing and Totemic Might can be used with Bogshaper to get free card draw. That is, if bogshaper ends up being played.
Why u hav to be mad? is only card gaem.
Thanks! Its nice to not have to dig through my cards now.
>>C-C-Combo!>Unstable Evolution FRENZY (Tavern Brawl)Hey, that's true! Here's hoping!

At least now mage has a way to get unstable evolution and max board with Sorcerer's Apprentice with the cauldron.
Well, I would argue that Volcano is just a good card. Strong AOE is good even in a midrange deck, especially if it is randomly generated.
