Coldlight and Ice Block are uninteractive to the opponent and you shouldn’t have to put techs in your deck for one specific card. Inner fire is ok bc you can just destroy the health of your opponents minions. You can’t counter coldlight or ice block as easily which is why they’re leaving.
You guys should delete your HS accounts if your really think the inner fire/divine spirit combo is problematic.
I wanted to make it stay, but as said before:
COMBO PRIEST WASN'T VIABLE UNTIL UN'GORO. The one card that make it viable was Shadow Visions. But when it's gone, IT'S NO LONGER VIABLE AGAIN. Inner Fire is sometimes a +7 attack, sometimes a +28 attack, but often it's only a +3 attack or even a +0 attack too.
HALL OF FAME IS FOR CARDS THAT ARE TOO OMNIPOTENT! For example: Sylvanas Windrunner is a nerfed card (yes, she was a 5 mana 5/5 with the same effect) that was still viable because her effect is too insane. Ice Block is uninteractive AND was played in almost every mage deck: Freeze Mage: iceblock, Control-Highlander deck: iceblock. SMOrc Aluneth-Mage: Iceblock.
DS and IF are fine and have been around forever without issue, players considered it to be an unreliable combo. What made the DS, IF combo viable was Shadow Visions, which will rotate out eventually.
Wasn't the main problem Potion of Madness using your own minions/taunts making any kind of possible defense worthless while also attacking on the same turn?

Shhhh don't tell them! They surely know this if they are so good at the game that they can balance it with these awesome proposals.

OMG you're so clever.
Yes, it is because of PoM and shadow visions that we're seeing the combo now – but as you said, they're rotating next week, so no reason to worry about those. The thing is, down the line, new cards will certainly revive the divine spirit inner fire combo again... It's not that it's broken, or even really that good, it's just that it's boring old shit and the game should be able to refresh itself.
Long story short, I wish they'd cut the basic and classic sets form standard altogether. Or make an actual core set that they put some thought into, instead of just using whatever cards happened to be in the game first.
Inner fire priests were way less popular before Shadow Visions existed. Want to know why? A big factor had to do with needing to include more card draw/cycling to more consistently pull the combo off. Why send a classic card to HoF due to a temporary new (now old) card that was introduced in one of the expansions? Just wait for Shadow Visions to rotate out and I guarantee you that the combo will nose dive in popularity if no similar cards are introduced to replace Shadow Visions.
I disagree with the statement that the Inner Fire Priest combo/deck is non-interactive. People seem to frequently throw that term out without really thinking about cards/combos/decks they are frustrated with. Every time you clear the priest's minions, either due to minion trades or removal, you are interacting with the combo by denying it from happening for however many turns you succeed in doing so. Even putting up taunts, requiring the priest to have answers to them or prolong using their combo, is also an interaction with the combo and deck.
If the combo/deck was truly non-interactive then it wouldn't even matter if you cleared the priest's board or put up taunts because a true non-interactive play/win condition would happen regardless, which except in clutch potion of madness scenarios is really not the case.

Well that's not what you said in your opening post. Deleting the inner fire combo is just bad IF you don't replace it with something else.
Changing the basic/classic set is a good idea in my opinion (Kibler made a video about this too), I hated the combo when it was the only thing i could do if I wanted to play priest. It is unfun but a weak combo on its own. Priest "core" set is too weak and you can think of rotating this combo out only AFTER you make changes to the "core" set.
You can do 2 things to avoid the OTK divine spirit + inner fire combo.
1). Play around it. Even if you don't kill priest's minions, just bring them to low hp. Do the same with your minions if you think that they want to steal and OTK you with your own minions. This is called mind game.
Hall of Fame Divine Spirit. Without doubling the health of a minion, Inner Fire is close enough to fair.

They will never do it, Anduin is the dev's baby. Play priest, warlock, or piss off.
Free to try and find a game, dealing cards for sorrow, cards for pain.
Priest is tied with Shaman for the weakest core set. Relax.

I bet you're not gonna see that many inner fire priests next expansion when lots of good cards from the deck rotate out.

run silence. but that is none of my business.

When Shadow Visions rotates out, will combo priest be as consistent? That sounds like the equivalent to a hall of fame type move.
If you thought you knew what you think I know, then you'd know I knew you knew I know.
Its not a mage card so that wont happen.
