By the end of this week I'll have just over 4k gold, but barely any dust. I'm a Standard player so I'll be dusting all my wild cards, should net me around 10k dust. Also pre-ordered so I'll have around 110 packs to open launch day!
How many rotated expansions have you already dusted? Haven't you regretted it yet? You get much less value when dusting and playing against Standard decks only seems not worth it. You can always create a decent deck with your collection and still have fun even in wild format.
I've stopped playing since January because of college, so i have gold for only 4 poor packs lol But in the other hand I'll have about 8k dust when HoF comes and probably dust the below average rotated cards
I am an F2P player. I have played a lot with Playvig during the last two months and earn The Witchwood offer. Moreover I have 5100 gold and 4 free packs. So over 130 packs the first day of the expansion, without waste any money.
If you do all your quests you can bet on 50g on average per day. An extension is every 4 months so roughly 120 days so you can reliably count on 6000 gold for every expansion. If you play a lot you can have more (I have an average of 80g/day).
The best strategy is to spend all your gold on day1, open your packs then craft what you need and save for the next expansion. This way you have less risks opening an epic you have crafted, which is a net loss of 300 dust. Before it was even more frustrating with legendaries but they fixed that.
I know it requires self control (it is always nice to open packs regularly) but if you can do it your collection will grow more efficiently.

That's all true... I have short gold for this expansion but saved lots of dust, and based on the cards released so far i thing I'll not be spending much dust to rebuild my good decks (since most of them don't rely on cards that will rotate). That said, i can either hard save my gold or try some arena eventually...
I have the preorder, currently 5300 gold and 7300 dust. For the short term that’s all I have for opening cards due to transitioning between jobs right now. Once I’ve booked my next show, I plan to buy a good number of packs to finish up the new set.
I just bought 5 year of the mammoth packs. Now I'll only have like 2000 gold instead of 2500 gold. I figured with the pre-order bonus I can get away with these impulse purchases haha. I just have too much fun opening packs.

7000 gold + 7000 dust + preorder
I'll have around 6.5k gold, 13k dust and the preorder at the beginning. Has to be enough.
It's possible that I'll save gold for Arena, but I don't know yet.
