I'm one legendary off (Nozdarmu) from a complete classic set. I know the next legendary I get will complete the set and from that moment on I'll only get dust. I've been playing since closed beta and am not a big spender (only specials). So that makes me think I'm not alone. I know a lot of F2P and new players need classic packs but there should be an option to remove classic packs from rewards if you have them all. I know Brode said they would add more cards to the set (probably) but that is definitely gonna take a while.
I think blizz should start giving non disenchantable gold packs for people that have the entire collection of any giving set, im in the same boat as you every classic card pack is garbage unless i get something that gold.
I think they’ll keep it going for new players, but having a “pack token” or some such that you could use to get what you want is still probably the best solution.
You already have a full classic collection, it's only natural that you won't need more. Why are you even complaining? A lot of people can only dream to get that.

Cause I don't have a full collection of the other sets. It's free stuff but is not that useful as to others who have missing cards in the collection. I wouldn't mind getting golden dust for completing the golden collection of classic but I wpuld prefer getting other packs I haven't collected, even if they're wild packs.
That guy told classic gifts are good for new players and he just asked for an option to change classic rewards for people who don't want it. Doesn't sound selfish to me.
The problem would be that long-time players will just opt-in for only the newest set and Blizzard has a hard(er) time getting those expansion bundles sold.
I do agree that as a long-time player getting a classic pack really doesn't excite me anymore. 40 dust is just not exciting, because you tend to go for expensive cards and getting 1600 though 40 dust a week means it takes a looooooong time till payoff. Even crafting epic is 10 weeks so enough to not feel like it matters.
Blizzard tries to hype us up by this special event and then getting a classic pack is a complete buzz-kill. Getting a classic pack in tavern brawl is meh, so you can skip completely lame brawls without feeling bad. So fine I guess. Getting it for this event just de-rails the hype-train.
And here comes the Hearthstone 4th edition classic set. And by the way, the classic will now be called Alpha and can only be played in wild as they reprint all the same crap like they did in MTG
It honestly doesn't make sense why they can't implement a ticket system where they let the player pick the pack that they'd like to open. But I guess the RNG fits right in with their core gameplay philosophies.
I'm pretty sure most of you will fill the same way when you open enough classic packs from quests and tavern brawls. Guess I'll just have to wait for that to happen.

This falls onto the big pile of arguments labeled "Yeah it'd be nice but you're still getting free stuff so it's not really worth complaining"

Selfish much?

Dust a bunch of classic and start over
Let me translate for you what you just said:
I wouldn't mind getting gold cards but I would prefer getting packs for cards that I miss.
Are you serious? Be happy about your collection man, and don't come up with these selfish ideas.

It would be a cool feature to have the option to opt out of certain card sets, and receive instead a random pack from a set for which we opted in.

Never underestimate the power of 40 dust.
Dead but dreaming
40 dust + 40 dust + 40 dust... And I've been crafting legendaries and epics I lack since I began playing.

We could be given every legendary in the game, and people will still find something to complain about.

But you are already getting a compensation: Dust! You can use it to craft whatever you want :)
Free is free. You are always welcome to leave the game and spend your time elsewhere.
