Blizzard gave us a free cthun when the Old Gods expansion launched. This was due to the may synergy cards with cthun in the set. I am seeing the same with this expansion. There are multiple (Not too many) cards that are only playable with the two new legendaries (Baku the Mooneater and Genn Greymane). Isn't it a little bit weird that they don't give us those two legendaries for free?
It is especially stupid for free to play players. They might not have the legendary but do get the cards you only can play with them.
There's already lots of threads about this speculation.
I tend to agree that there's a decent chance they will give one of those free (if not both). Others tend to disagree and think we're only getting a random class legendary.

You can still run even/odd decks without the legendaries, you can't run a C'thun deck without C'thun. Plus we haven't seen all the cards yet. Plus they're giving us a random class legendary when we log in. Plus they're giving us 20 extra packs with the preorder, and a datamine suggests we'll have 20 more free packs when the expansion launches. I think we'll be alright.
Cthun synergy cards like the 2 mana 2/3, 3 mana 3/4, 4 mana 4/2 divine shield, etc. If you remove the text which only buff one other card Cthun. They are basic vanilla minions.
These odd/even cards buff each other up. There is no singular card that they buff like Cthun. The archetype as a whole can be used without the legendaries. So it's not really the same imo.
If you didn't have C'Thun some other cards that you can find in WotOG's packs become totally useless, while in the new expansion set you can always build an odd/even-only deck that "works" even if you don't own any of those two new legends. On top of that Blizzard already said that they'll give a free class legendary to everyone, so no neutral ones.
I think it would have been cooler if they gave us baku & Genn instead of a class legendary even if both are bad. I mean they have us two legendaries last expansion
This is one thing I actually don't like about us being given free stuff in the game; once players are given something free once they begin expecting it from everything that is released from that point on. Consider free stuff a considerate gift, not something that you are owed.
I really don't think it is a problem that we aren't automatically given both, or even one, of the even/odd legendaries because we are still able to craft them if we don't pull them from packs. Isn't that the point of the crafting system in general? We weren't given free inspire legendaries like Confessor even though inspire was a big mechanic that was attempted to be introduced, nor were we given one or more of the gang faction leaders from MSoG, despite that expansion heavily themed around them for the various tri-class mechanics.
Even when we were given free cards, such as a free DK, that still didn't prevent you from needing to craft other DKs if the epics, rares, and commons you pulled were better themed around a DK other than the one you were given. However, in the end even f2p players are able to get their hands on at least one of the odd or even legendary minions (assuming you actually play the game and do your dailies).
The odd and even thing is NOT the main mechanical theme of the expansion, there is no point in giving everyone Genn and Baku as there are only a few cards that are directly related to their effects.
Almost a guaranteed no on that friends. Blizzard has already told us what they are giving and neither of those cards are class legendaries. Also this is very different then the C'Thun situation as the even odd cards are playable without Baku the Mooneater or Genn Greymane while the C'Thun cards would have no actual effect if you didn’t have C'Thun.
Anyway sorry mates, but it ain’t happening. We can hope though, I suppose.

you clearly didn't understand my point.
I don't care about free stuff, but when we get it it's nice. Yould play confessor in any deck, play DK in your deck. Look at Cthun, what is the point of getting cthun cards without having cthun itself, that is why they gave us one. you could look at the new odd and even system the same. Those decks are probably unplayable without the legendaries. Its not a big problem if I don't get them free, but if you look at the reason they gave us cthun, they could give us Genn and Mooneater aswell.
I understand they don't give us constant free stuff, but what is the point of opening an odd or even related card without having the legendary? Its more of a problem for free to play players as they force them to craft the two legendaries
Actually, you can play C'thun cards without C'thun. I forget who made the deck, but I remember hearing someone made a Quest Warrior deck with some C'thun cards but no C'thun. They played them to get the benefit from the armor minion and the double taunt. So even in the case of C'thun, having C'thun wasn't completely necessary.

I do understand your point. You claim that odd/even decks are unplayable without their respective neutral legendaries (which is a big assumption since we know less than 10% of the expansion's cards so far). From what little we have seen I see no reason for anyone to think that considering that none of the odd/even cards revealed have not stated needing either card for their odd/even requirements to come into effect. Are the neutral legendaries a big boost? Of course, but by no means do you need those cards before you start trying out the archtypes upon release.
The reason I brought up the expectations of getting free stuff is due to arguments like the one that you pose. From the perspectives of those who are quite concerned about getting themed cards without various synergistic legendaries/epics for said decks it may seem like a completely viable idea for players just to be given those themed legendaries or epics since the deck is weaker if you don't pull them right away. Such an expectation can quickly snowball into a HS version of WoW's "welfare epics", resulting in some players becoming frustrated, or for an even smaller percentage of players, upset that Blizzard would release synergistic cards without giving them those cards for free right away, or at the very least, allow them to choose which legendaries they get first when opening packs bought with gold.
The simple answer of why they allow players to open packs and get some odd/even cards without always getting the legendaries is so that players spend money on cards, as well as extending the longevity of the game for those players who can't pay for the entire expansion upon release day. We play the game for fun, but in the end Team 5 is part of a business and businesses work to earn money at the end of the day. If you gave the best cards to everyone right away then what reason is there for players whose only goal is to get the good cards (as opposed to those who are collectors and/or fun/meme deck builders) when they already have the best cards for free?
It should be noted though that the odd/even legendaries aren't neccesarily going to be auto-crafts. Like I said the expansion is less than 10% revealed and players can only hope to theorycraft the effectiveness of decks that would utilize the odd/even strategies. For all we know the entire archtypes could flop, and if that does happen it would not really be that big of a deal that players weren't given those two cards for free.

There have been 6 cards revealed out of 135 that have to do with those 2.

Jesus Christ, relax people.
Each of the even/odd cards is a synergy by itself, depending on the deck. Neither Baku nor Genn is necessary in any of the possible archetypes.
I don't think they will do it.

For what profit is it to a man, if he gains the world and loses his own soul?
This thread highlights the failure of the game to provide a reasonable play experience for anything other than a tier 1 deck.

Well, we got Marin + one random leggie, so double leggie gift is certainly something possible. ;)

Even/Odd unplayable with the legendaries. Why does it matter?

I'm f2p, I'll definently have enough dust to craft one of them and make a good deck.
You're complaining about unplayable cards? That's 80% of cards that are released each expansion anyway.
