Allot of standard sets rotate out so a fresh year is coming, also you could easily start building lower cost aggro decks and build your collection from there that even everyone in Beta had to do. When this game got released Zoo Lock, Burn Mage , Hunter than Midrange Hunter where some of the first decks I made because of the low legendary count (pretty much 0 besides mage) from there I start building ramp druid and control warrior. It's not that hard to build a collection aslong as your willing to spend a little bit like you would on any video game really. console games cost 60 bucks a piece and you will never play them as much.
Start of new game year is a good time to play catchup since many old sets rotate out. More or less the same game it always was. Meta isn't too bad right now in terms of variety but most people just net decks (arena tier lists too) and tries to win on the deck building of players far better than they are so hopefully that doesn't bother you too much.
So far, the new Wildwood set looks OK but nothing too revolutionary (I mean kind of hard to tell with 6 cards revealed to be honest)
even if it is worst card game around, the warcraft theme is worth to play imo. Same with Elder scrolls legends for me. Sometimes you don't play only for winning. Graphics, themes, universes, characters are important too I think.

Memedeck-seeker. Always tries to build new decks. Hates tournements, streamers, netdecks and poor-o players. ah, but a tournement mode could be great !!!
Not at all, stay away from this crappy game and there are better alternatives, especially with Artifact that's coming this year.
But it's not out, and honestly from what I've seen of the game, it's going to fall a long way short of hearthstone on theme and personality. If strategy and depth is your thing then there are already other CCGs out there.
If you have enough of older sets, Wild can be a nice experience, since its the cheaper set on the long run: you can take advantage of the older sets on your collection to make some decks which can be played with little to no changes in each new expansion.
I think this is the best oportunity for you to came back to the game, since in about one month, all but your basic cards will be Wild-Only.
Just try to make decks with whatever cards you have and grind at least 100g per day and wait until next expansion comes out mid-april cause the card pool will be reduced to half pretty much, you would need classic set (which I guess you already own a lot of), the un'goro, frozen throne, kobolds and the witchwood, I know it can still seem like a lot but it's the best moment to start but you probably still need to put some big bucks in if you want to get into the meta fast, pre order the next expansiom for sure.

Then why are you even on this site
Don't mind me just passing by

Come the expansion is a great time to get into the game. You can start playing now to just do quests to save gold for packs with the expansion.
Don't come back for ranked; it's a dull grind. But come back for the RNG - build yourself a casino mage deck or steal priest and let the meta go hang.
