I played control warlock and my win rate against jade shaman is abysmal. I haven’t won any match up with the devilsaur cubedruid. Almost instant lose if spell hunter has Barnes on turn 4, then depends on how early he gets his DK. Against Spiteful priest or is also a really tough matchup. Secret mage can burn me to death before turn 10.
I don’t think there is any problem with warlock deck at the moment. There are far too many stronger decks out there.
Unfortunate my favorite Kazakhs death rattle control priest always got out valued nowadays.:(
My main problem with warlock is the decks that counter them are either extremely boring to play or aren't very consistent. I mean yes technically my best matchup with jade shaman is control warlock but the game isn't about beating one specific deck and my overall winrate suffers as the cost of being favored against warlock.
Warlocks just have so many win conditions compared to most decks. Even if I hex all your voidlords and silence rin, a lot of times you still win just because of the absurd amount of healing they have available.
That said, I don't think they need to be nerfed into the ground, it's just a powerful deck. I would like to see dark pact and lackey changed somehow, but I think there are more urgent things to fix.
This morning at rank 5 I'm playing control warlock.
Jade Shaman - Loss Kingsbane Rogue - Loss Exodia Mage - Loss Secret Mage - Loss
I think the reports of Warlock's domination have been greatly exaggerated. Every deck you face is geared to stop you with a couple Spellbreakers or worse. It's almost hard to win a game rather than just stomping everyone.
Play the deck for a while and get back at me. (especially up around rank 5+)
I'd wager dollars to donuts the new expansion is going to introduce a "bounce to hand" mechanic. Call it "Fear" or something.
Between Warlock, Big Priest and Spiteful decks, with all their cheating out big minions, an accessible ability for all classes to bounce cards back to your opponents hand would be a pretty effective counter.
Plus, it would help explain why they HOF'd Coldlight Oracle. As that would have caused potential abuse problems.
- Best boards clears, check - Best healing, check - Best draw mechanics, check - Best Dk hero card, check - Solid Taunts
And he's not going to lose that much with the rotation next month, so what is Blizzard waiting to fix this messed class ? next expansion will just offer him more and certainly better cards to mess with and it will them another 3 months to react and nerf the wrong card, seriously, this is just getting stupid here.
Warlock became the strongest class because they nerfed Priest.
Were you also one of the people who called for a Priest nerf?
We warned you: If you want to nerf 1 thing, then another will take its place. Learn your lesson now!
I'm sorry but this is just wrong, pally decks been top dog for months, even before the nerf.
We get it, your autopilot deck just got trashed, but no worries, warlock isn't oppressive and probably won't be.
Someone obviously hasn’t played Hearthstone in a while.
Either that or they are simply a disingenuous Warlock playet who is terrified of their skill-less EZ mode deck being nerfed into a balanced state...
Or it's you that don't have the skill level or experience with a Warlock deck, to pass judgment.
No card in Warlock is op by it's self, even bad. They needs three to four cards to become great. But so would any combo in the game.
Warlock gets pointed out because it can shut down the top decks,......pallys.
Also because people are sheep, and can't think for themselves. They heard Warlock is not Nerf or HOF, or being affected much by rotation. They must be op and need balance.
Forget that other counter decks became stronger with nerfs, that warlock decks have been near the top, but not at the top.
Forget that control Warlock is losing a key card in the rotation (Nzoth). Plus some healing cards.
Forget that new cards will be introduced with the rotation to make many new decks that can counter it.
Cubelock was being complained and told to be too op, even when it was 12th on winrate decks and low 2nd teir.
Feel free to play a warlock for a while, then get back to me.
Yes, the decks (Control and Cube) are extremely powerful. But they are also very weak against a few different classes / decks. They are nearly auto-concede against secret / burn mage. They will either wreck, or get wrecked by Paladins. If they get their board clears, it can be the most lopsided match you will ever play ... but, a Paladin can also have you dead by turn 6 pretty easy, so get a bad draw, and you are screwed. Priest is a nightmare trying to play around mind controls, 10/10's on turn 4 or 6, mass dispel's, stealing minions and inner fire combos .....
So, IMHO, no ... nothing needs to be done about them. The players have already done it ... they have at least 3 or 4 decks that are medium to hard counters for it. Honestly, I just got my golden warlock hero, and I am switching classes because so much of the meta is made up of "anti-warlock" decks right now.
I play Controlock and ur comment is the best I've seen here as i recognize every single situation u just described. Thats why warlock isn't oppressive. Yes if u reach turn 10 with it it probably means u will win unless its against big priest but u can lose to a ton of decks that rely on early crush so its balanced imo
I think the problem atm is not warlock its just that some cards shut down whole decks.
For example you want to build a realy slow control deck well enemy plays Kingsbane,Rin, Jade Idol well you just lose when they play them.
Its realy not fun to be forced into playing Aggro Pala/Secret mage and its not fun to be forced to push concede button because enemy plays card YX in his deck.
Only solution in my opinion would be either Ban Option or more cards like skulking geist. Otherwise i see this become rock/Paper scissors stone were games are decided by decklist on turn 3 by concede.

LOL ;) Paladins’ were not ‘top dog’ as you so funnily call the aggro decks that got destroyed during the Razakus meta before CubeLock was a thing.
They're very strong all round with strong synergy but there are a lot of decks that can still compete against it right now. As long as Blizz holds off on giving them too much extra love for upcoming expansions things will balance out imo.
Warlock must have receive only garbage and meme cards for the entire raven year or nothing else will exist.
I really struggle with building that insane boardclear value my warrior decks, but I will counter that the same 5-mana Brawl doesn't hold a kobold candle to Doomsayer + Treachery. The days when a simple enrage or whirlwind buff does nothing in the face of neutral Cubes and Priest spellstones, multiplying board value. Prince Kel be like DAMMM!
Secret brun mage is the solution mate. Warlockstone will end soon.
Be there, or be squared!

I won a game at rank 5 against Control Warlock with The Darkness Mill Druid deck..I'm not scared of them.

Exactly, but baked in and keyworded. Made available to all classes.
Kind of like how Mistress of Pain existed for Warlock, and then they introduced Lifesteal in KotFT and made it available for everyone.
Wait for the new set.
Warlocks? What about 6 mana 16/16 on turn 6 Priests?
Cubelock's win% isn't the best. The problem with it is its extremely polarizing cards.
Cheat out Voidlord = win in too many matchups. It's very stupid unfun game design.
