I just wanted to say two things to any random guy who is reading this and told me I was dumb for thinking DK was overpowered and going to hoard the meta the second all the mana cheats got even slightly nerfed.
1-Who's dumb now, you moron? It took even less than I expected!
2-Fuck you!
Pick class. Other than warrior who's flawed by design currently. Buff 10 cards that support certain archetype. Nerf every other class. Buffed class became good? Shocker
It's almost like the class didn't really need to get buffs because they were already good to begin with and the problem was the meta not suiting its playstyle.
But hey, it was Arthas, it had to be too good. It's what the fans wanted after all.
Yeah, DK in general was already good enough. I'd argue that the Blood rune would be the place where it really needed buffs because as much as it can survive, a control deck needs to have a legitimate late game threat. Alexandros Mograine is pretty much just fatigue and Patchwerk is just disruption. Blood DK pretty much gives you a lot of time to kill it.
There was no need for them to buff Unholy rune cards. They were already good value for an aggressive deck such as Plague Strike which is removal + token spawn that can also act as removal. They only buffed Battlefield Necromancer because it used the same tokens as Boneguard Commander which is just hot garbage for a conditional 8-drop. Unholy Frenzy is a buff that I'm okayish with since 3 mana was really hard to use for an effect that was basically Devouring Swarm.
Anyway I still think this meta is terrible because you just highroll dumb shit like Evolve Shaman and basically cheat the mana system by spawning a Deathwing at turn 3.
On another note, Implock is infuriating. They can draw their resources quickly and refill their board every time it gets destroyed.
Gotta love how they removed the sorry emote from the regular game because it was 'too toxic' but added literal 'make fun of your opponent' emotes to battlegrounds. Gotta also love how some players find it necessary to BM on fucking auto chess.

Let's agree to disagree on Blood DK. Some people don't like fighting against a deck whose win condition is just attrition but hey, I find playing Frost DK extremely boring and unfun for anyone unfortunate enough to be my opponent.
Anyway, who would have guessed that Construct Quarter would be a solid card for aggro Unholy DK decks. It basically turns them into Zoolock with how they can trigger their deathrattle minions like Foul Egg. It creates an incredibly good board on the early turns while giving them a bunch of corpses. You basically made a card that is Dark Transformation but can be used three times and trigger friendly deathrattles. I love fighting against Yetis with rush effects.
I guess so. But isn't it weird that you can even get addicted to something that's mostly causing negative feelings? I don't win many games because i play bad decks for the most part, so there's not much sense of achievement. So what is it that i'm craving for?
Some people don't like fighting against a deck whose win condition is just attrition
I saw a comment on reddit the other day that summarized the problems of Blood DK and attrition control decks in general pretty well.
My problem is the they make win conditions that allow control to beat control, not win conditions that let control beat aggro. This is what makes no sense. Aggro players are the ones complaining about fatigue games, since control players will clear their board every turn until fatigue. Control players don’t mind a long game and will happily go into fatigue with you. So why have a win condition that forces you play four 6,6s that do nothing and then win the game. That does nothing to ease Aggro players’ complaints about their board being cleared until fatigue. I’m not playing four 6,6 “do nothing” cards against aggro, I need to clear the board and heal or else I’ll die.
A lot of wincons for control do nothing vs aggro. I, as a control player, go into more fatigue games against aggro then any other type of deck. Control decks have wincons, they just can’t afford to play them when under the onslaught of an aggro deck. Jailer? I can’t afford to play a 10 mana card that disables my taunts. Alexandros? Does literally nothing. These wincons beat other control decks, not aggro. The only 10 mana cards allowed to see play are those that beat aggro (Onyxia, The Old Gods, etc). Give us a wincon that beats aggro so aggro players don’t have to go into fatigue. Stop giving us wincons that cost 30+ mana over several turns that only beat other control decks.
What we need is more N’Zoth style effects. You summon a board filled with taunts, deathrattles that heal, and deathrattles that clear the board? You win against aggro and the game doesn’t go into fatigue. You play N’Zoth against a control deck and they play a Twisting Nether and suddenly you have a fatigue game on your hands - and assuming both are control players, going into a fatigue game for them is exciting and fun. So what’s the harm of allowing that game to happen?
Goddamn, that comment just made me realized how often I go into fatigue with Implocks. Like I fully expect them to be done after I keep using my heals and Blood Boil but they have late game presence just by refilling their boards with buffed imps or even including Curses which is just infuriating. Amazing how Aggro is able to contend with Control decks into fatigue and still have a good chance of winning.

Exactly. I also tried to point that out but got downvoted immediately. Probably because most players fail to make the connection between aggro/tempo having way more value than ever before and the long game duration against pure control decks. People think pure control = fatigue but in reality this should only happen in the mirror and not against aggro/tempo decks. Aggro/tempo decks should run out of steam way before the game reaches fatigue but they don't and that's the only reason why this matchup feels so bad for BOTH sides. It's not like i enjoy playing these long games against these fast archetypes because it's just stressful compared to a pure control mirror. I also don't like having to rely on all these discover cards and having to pray that i can generate enough removal or heal to deal with all these additional resources that aggro/tempo decks shouldn't even have access to.
Edit: They either need to adjust aggro/tempo's ability to never run out of gas or they need to give pure control something that wins them the game on the spot on turn 10 or even before turn 10. I'm not a big fan of the resurrection mechanic tbh but i can't come up with another solution that doesn't involve some kind of combo.
Of course Druid somehow manages to make Rivendare, Warrider work really well. Disruption is also completely useless against this deck because they use their deathrattle location to put more copies in their deck and then kill them all off in one turn with a 1 mana Deathwing. There was not a single interaction between me and my opponent the whole time. He literally used me as a target dummy.
I didn't even notice Nofin's Imp-ossible when they revealed the cards for the mini set. Did Implock really need more support? And this powerful effect for just 2 mana? Wow.
I also struggle to accept the fact that they buffed Unholy DK this much (way better buffs than Blood DK got btw) while knowing that they'd release Construct Quarter just a few weeks later. The location itself would've been more than enough to make that deck viable.
So yeah, this mini-set apparently only buffed decks which already deserved a nerf. These devs don't give a flying f*ck about balancing.
THIS.
Every time they release new cards something is insanely broken. And it takes weeks to sort out. And then, another few weeks for them to try and "get it right".
How many weeks of the year are lost due to unplayable metas?
I am so sick of this shit. I am very close to quitting the game entirely. The current balance/development team is awful. It has been nothing but "ReLEaSe BROkeN ShIT" over and over again.

Yup, for the vast majority of each expansion in the past 2-3 years i was basically just waiting for the game to get somewhat balanced and playable. And just when things seem to go in the right direction, they release a new expansion and the cycle starts all over again. I mean, i get that people don't want expansions without any real impact like Rastakhan's Rumble but it's almost like the devs have a competition on who can design the most broken cards nowadays. People say "Hey they release way more balance patches these days." but did it actually change anything for the better? For me it seems more like an excuse for the devs to not care as much about card design before release.

I just feel miserable after playing this game. Every single time without exception. And yet i still can't stop playing. Idk why...

The worst thing that happened in this patch was that price increase. In my region prices double, near tripled after that, thanks Bli$$ard!

thanks for making thaddius.
turn 3 thadius plus a 1-mana Glugg.
they just can't help themselves. blizzard just keeps making this game worse and worse
New miniset out?
Even more reasons to stick to your fucking big mage and farm easy wins against players trying new cards out, ain't it chickenshits?!?
Until Shaman gets a nerf there's really no point in playing.
