took ramp druid to test 2 versions i did, without taunts and foudn 3 odd paladins in a row with lethal turn 4+coin. Switched to tempo warrior and found 2 mind blast priest with perfect curve and one cubelock. FUCK OFF i am out untill the next season. Also my daily reminder that if you play top tiers and metadecks copy/pasted in casual you deserve to be burnt alive in actual real life. No,i have no remorse for saying it.
Met someone on the ladder last night running Savjz's Weasel Tunneler Priest and while I won, I'm incredibly salty at my opponents inability to do math. The match was competitive at first but it eventually shifted to being unwinnable for them and a waste of our time to drag this out. Why was it unwinnable? I'm playing a non-quest variety of Baku Warrior. My armor gains and decision making made it impossible for them to pull off a win and after 40 minutes they conceded. Short summary of what I went through:
1. They drew both their Shadow Visions early and grabbed 2 extra copies of Psychic Scream. Upped their Scream count to 4, I went through all 4 of them.
2. Their N'Zoth board was immediately DELETED thanks to Reckless Flurry.
3. I had to outlast Amara, Warden of Hope twice. First time Shield Slam, second time I had to play 2 Weasel Tunnelers and a Brawl.
Eventually they reached Fatigue and I was staring at 27 cards still in my deck due to the 4 Psychic Screams and all the extra Weasels. Knowing how Shadow Reaper Anduin works, I was not about to feed him a bunch of 1 cost Weasels to play with and refresh the Hero Power so I played any big threats that I ended up drawing and just continued to armor up.
They eventually conceded and I got the win (I know I shouldn't be complaining after a win) but their inability to see that this was not winnable really irked me. Just concede, could have saved us both 15-20 minutes and they can try the deck again against someone else and I can also move on with my life.
You have a concede button, too. Heavy control players are weird...
I realize I have a concede button, but i'm not going to remove myself from a ranked game that I have no way in losing. I eventually got my star and continued my climb. I also have nothing against long matches, my issue was if the player did a little math they would have realized there is NOTHING they could do to win unless I started playing a ton of Weasels and gave him ammunition to refuel his Hero Power. It wasn't even close once the game shifted away from them, yet they just dragged on their lose/my win.
Don't expect pity in the salt thread. If I were the priest, I possibly would've roped the last 5 turns of fatigue burn.. since 40 minute games aren't a problem for them.
Insta-conceding against baku paladin in casual because they won't let me live 5 turnst to test out a meme deck. Fun stuff
If it makes you feel any better I emote spammed the fuck out of one in casual and kicked his ass with blackguard/lifesteal paladin just now. He was in full smorc mode and didn't even come close.
too bad when i play in ranked I don't draw both corpsetakers and then blackguard on curve.

Oh please, my Baku Warrior is all about Control and I prefer the long match-ups that Control vs Control brings. My only issue with my last game was my opponent clearly didn't have the vision or the math skills to notice that they had no win condition(s) left and pushed the game on for another 15-20 minutes in which each of their turns was relatively pointless with them doing only being able to do 2 damage from their Hero Power as I wasn't giving them any Weasels back. It's just one of those things where I feel it's more or less BMing as you are now taking away time from another person, especially when you don't have a way to win. They should have conceded much earlier and we both could have moved onto our next games much sooner.
So where are all you fucks who said warlocks wouldn't even be a problem after the rotation? The ones that kept saying "wait until the meta settles"? The ones who enable blizzard to keep delaying changes because you lap up their "wait and see" approach?
Because you were fucking wrong. Warlocks are as big of a problem as they ever were. Give me any variant of paladin any game, at least I can beat them. With so many matchups against warlock it's simply impossible to win. Tech in silences, tech in transforms, it won't save you unless they get the worst draws imaginable. But guess what, they won't, because you are going to get them instead.
Why have you decided to make Aggro decks so powerful and consistent? It used to be that if you wanted to run an aggressive strategy, you ran the risk of running out of steam and losing if the game went past 8 turns. Now thanks to cards like Call to Arms, Divine Favor and upgraded hero powers (I know, I know all Paladin right now), it doesn't matter how many times you clear the board or if they run out of cards, as they just fill up both on a consistent basis!
There should be strengths and weaknesses to each play style, but when you create cards that essentially take out the weaknesses all together are you surprised it has polarized the meta and created the top deck breakdown to look like this?

Unless I play with a paladin ofcourse. Then I just meet classes with the perfect clears, the perfect taunts, while I have the most awful hand for games. Same with Spiteful summoners. Every druid or priest I face has it on turn 6 and 7, while I nearly always have all of my spells in hand, prior to getting the actual summoners. Always unlucky I guess.
That random opponent generator is brutal - I build an anti-aggro deck and all I face is cubelock.
I lost my first ever chance to get to Rank 10 with my Even Paladin deck due to a Quest Rogue that drew both copies of Vanish, and inflicted 25 damage with a single Stonetusk Boar. At least I have cause to feel grateful that The Caverns Below was nerfed, or that deck would be nigh unstoppable now.
@Sohliex You are having troubles hitting rank 10 with the strongest deck in the game? LOL
May be news to you, but some people are just that unlucky. Whenever I play aggro I face the perfect counters. Or I have a shitty hand. Or both. Whenever I play control...yeah, you can guess. Paladins, locks and spiteful shit is OP atm, but even then...luck is everything.
nah man, it's not luck or lack of luck it is just if you get angry about small sample (if you are good) or you are not good enough (I am not implying bad)
Went from rank 2 to rank 3, all losses in a row with 0 wins. Lost to hyper aggro decks, pulled my control priest, 3 cubelocks in a row who had the perfect cube playes in hand. Fun times.
Meta sucks, cubelock can go to hell same goes for every baku deck, may it be huntard, double daggerd rogue or aggrodin.

Welp that's it, I quit. After dealing with cube lock on the ladder last season and now the cancer that is cube hadronox. I'm done, I can't do it anymore. It's either cancer paladin or cube hadronox (which I find to be far worse than cube lock ever was).

Nothing like doing the "play X class cards" quests in casual vs an Aggro Paladin...
One day this game will stop existing. I can't wait.
I'm so happy quest rogue is back. I love watching my opponent play solitaire.

Spiteful on turn 6 and turn 7 then going "Well played",, - die
