Oh , lost two stars? Mission acomplished, now you can go back to the paladin/mage grind for another week before you are allowed to hit legend, have fun xDD
I'm done with Hearthstone until they fix Mage, I can't stand it, 7 of 10 games I get Mage and well is a Rng Fiesta, losing for rng most of the time is absolutely disgusting.
I am sure blizzard will be absolutely devastated hearing this.
I can't believe how horribly designed some of the core set is. They could have put ANY card they wanted to in it, but somehow counterspell is still there. And of course, it costs me two important spell casts in a row, and I lose the game to Deck of Lunacy mage.
To say nothing about spell mage. Even my sleek tempo Rogue deck loses to spell mage if they get lucky (which happens... EXTREMELY often).
Actually they get lucky about 50% of the time. All decks do.

Thought and skill were removed from the game a long time ago in order to attract and keep new players.
I'm not expecting nerfs to lunacy mage. I completely expect they nerf its face to the ground and delete all those highroll mage's collection with it. Can't stand playing against this.
The card completely delete priest without almost any counter play, the match up would be actually fun and fair without this card.

J-rax is the classic priest killer. But part of the reason hasn't been played in a while (even after sac pact nerf) was because priest COULD beat Jaraxxus. Priest has Ruin and Soul Mirror now, Res Priest of last expansion would have actually stood a chance. If they get lucky with Lazul or Thoughtsteal priest can even steal Jaraxxus. It would still be an unfavorable matchup, but not the impossible one that it used to be.
That said, current priest probably doesn't have that hope anymore. While all the cards I listed except Lazul are still in standard, now that the res package and Galakrond are gone, Priest doesn't have a win condition anymore so they just lose to basically everything, Jaraxxus included.
I'm not advocating for Res Priest, I'm just as happy to see infiltrator gone as the next guy, I'm just saying that priest is trashy right now with a lot of situational board clears, and equally situational value generation. They don't have card draw so they need a sethekk to stick in order to generate random spells in order to hopefully maybe find a way to respond to what the opponent is doing. They can try neutral packages, but again, no card draw makes priest worse at using those cards than any other class. Paladin has a similar card draw issue, but has always made up for it with cards that have powerful stats and effects for their cost. Control Warlock has a similar issue where they rely heavily on removal, but has crazy amounts of draw with their hero power to get that removal and their win conditions.
Priest's boons are supposed to be "Being able to keep their minions alive" and "Stealing the opponent's tempo" but all of those things are dependent on priest actually drawing the right cards for the situation, which they currently can't do reliably.
Somehow this turned into a rant about priest, but I guess that's what this thread is for.

Problem with testing is that meta is in its essence reactive, which is hard to do if you have only got a handful of people. Some start building decks based on obvious synergies, then decks are created to counter that and then the fine-tuning starts. I don't know what Blizz' capacity is for doing this backwards and forwards. I suspect not huge; their timeline of releases is quite ambitious, every few weeks will be bringing something new. Not a lot of time to design and test properly before release, and they probably have to worry more about squashing bugs and unexpected interactions in the little time they've got.

The meta is constantly changing. If one deck is strong, then people start playing decks that are good against it, then people start playing decks that are good against THAT one, and so on. That said, I'm with you in wondering why they thought things like secret paladin was ok. It doesn't really have any BAD matchups except sometimes mage.
They have buffed cards in the past but that's dangerous because buffing cards can break the game more easily than nerfing cards. See rogue in duels destroying the early games now that quest is unnerfed.

When I encounter a lunacy deck now i alt tab and start to do other things. If they don’t want to play a normal deck (imho) the just wait a bit longer....
The only thing good about being stuck at diamond 5 is that I can concede after 3 turns. I can tell with about an 80% accuracy from the mulligan if the system has chosen me to win or lose the game. After 3 turns I know for certain. If I get perfect cards on curve I play it out. If I am drawing the highest cost cards that I will have to sit on while my opponent draws perfect cards I just concede and go on to the next coin toss.
So after being done with ranked until nerfs come, I thought: I'll play casuals so at least I can gain some xp until next week
