Mages always pulling a win out of their ass, what else is new

I fucking hate every single mage I come across why am I cursed to always face mages that have a billion board clears, have the perfect answer right when they need it it the most, completely turn a game around after what looks like to anyone else that would look at my game and tell me, "oh yeah you got this in the bag" until the mage generates endless spells and kills me at 30 with flamewaker bullshit.

Actually going to blow off some steam about a win - though it was a very near loss (survived on 1 HP to swing for lethal). 

Rank 18 wild (whereabouts I usually hang out and play casual decks, which I enjoy much more than playing competitively) - playing quest paladin vs... goodstuff priest? Couldn't quite put my finger on the strategy, but it mostly seemed like goodstuff, with some tempo cards and some value cards but no core strategy besides playing whatever value cards they seemed to have.

Turn 4 they play a Fishflinger - I mean, 3/2 pseudo-draw a fairly bad card is fine in a 'goodstuff' budget priest deck I guess - and on turn 5, they play the Underbelly Angler they got off of it, into a Coldlight Oracle they were running (unlike the Fishflinger, 3 mana for a 2/2 mirrored card draw is generally not a good idea unless you really need to dig). Because I was a turn behind from the quest, and reborn minions are typically a little lower in stats to compensate for the double light, I couldn't clear it around all the other on-curve junk he was playing, and as such he proceeded to generate a bunch of value off the Angler - including a second one. Never mind that I got the quest off, or got a Carnivorous Cube on an 8/8 token from Mechano-Egg and started copying the ooze - I wasn't drawing any lifegain cards, and with that 0/5 sitting on my board he could afford to just go face and I could never totally clear.

On his final turn, he got me down to 7 (with 6 power on the board), then played a Corrupted Seer into both Anglers likely looking for an extra damage - no luck, and that Seer popped enough Cubes to give me lethal on the following turn.

I mean, on the one hand card games can be good in giving players a chance at victory even if their deck is outclassed - on the other, god damn do I hate losing to super high rolls from otherwise very average decks (I also hate losing to individual powerhouse cards when the rest of the deck is pretty mediocre, but that's a story for another day...).

 I know this is a blowing off steam thread and sometimes we're not logical, but this kind of thing doesn't make sense to me. I'd get it if it were the other way around - if you were at low ranks (ie. 18-25) and didn't care about ranking up, why would you play something as cancerous as evolve shaman - but at legend, when it's a top tier deck? Seems to make perfect sense. When people aren't playing competitively you can fault them for playing a competitive deck; when they are playing competitively it's not only natural but highly optimal to play as competitive a deck as possible.

OK, really salty this morning... why do I even want to play standard/normal hearthstone? I’ve been playing battlegrounds for a while and been having fun but to fill my quests I play normal hearthstone... and I am sick and tired of getting dealt my highest value cards over and over- even off the mulligan- and my opponent ALWAYS drawing the nuts. All week now... I haven’t enjoyed it at all. Its no fun when you consistently get donkey punched by bad draws and meta opponents perfectly picked to counter your deck and handed the cards to do it. Way more RNG in normal hearthstone than battlegrounds- I think I’ll stick with battlegrounds for a while. 

Just rename the game Zephyrstone. The game reads the board every turn and determines the best card to give a player. 

You don't play this game anymore. You simply watch it.

Standard ladder is a toxic trash experience populated mainly by sad little cumwads playing murloc shaman, or quest/evolve shaman, mixed in with the odd highlander or n'zoth deck.

My best decision ever several years back was to NEVER SPEND REAL MONEY on anything to with hearthstone - its the only game I know that manages to consistently make me feel like shit.

If you're new, don't get caught up in it - the ultimate end state for players of this shit game is only misery.

I agree with your, most of the post...these devs at Blizzard for hs should use their assholes and ram the cards as far as they can, up their assholes. The brawl sometimes making no sense, like the, "shake, deathrattle, and roll," brawl. Makes no sense and I have lost every game of that one I have played. I'd like to beat the devs in the fucking face...now take a big shit play something bitches, fucking devs... They don't even know what a bean bag is..

People who play toxic decks like big/res priest and evolve shaman in casual games (not casual queue games - which is a mislabel as due to MMR they're more accurately 'unranked' games - but games where you expect a more casual experience, such as a low MMR game or game against a person on your friends list) should feel pretty dirty about playing such decks - I have to imagine they do, with how unwilling they seem to be to actually chat to you afterwards (I seriously just want to ask them why).
