It should be destroy a friendly minion and take 7 damage (or maybe 5, 7 is a bit much). A dark pact is supposed to have a downside.
Welcome to Blizzard card design team!
On a serious note, this Lackey+Dark Pact is similar to the Raza+Anduin. Neither of the cards are too strong, but their combo potential creates something that shouldn't necessarily exist. Warlock is not as oppressive as Razakus or Jades used to be, but Blizz really needs to think twice about what they do regarding Warlock. They are aware that a lot of people crafted Cubelock because it's pretty powerful. Since it costs quite a lot, I'm sure many people sacrificed other cards of their collection to create it, so if they completely kill the deck, these people might leave the game once and for all, which is the exact opposite of what our favorite small indie company wants.
Cubelock loses Mistress and N'Zoth, I wouldn't call that nothing. And there are quite a few good counters to that deck which we will see more of after the nerfs.
Well I said almost nothing :p
But as far as I know, N'zoth isn't really essential to the deck (I could be wrong about this though) and you also have to keep in mind that warlock isn't the only class that loses cards in the next standard rotation.
Losing N'Zoth is probably going to make Cube even more powerful. One of the best counters for Cubelock is Controlock, which absolutely relies on N'Zoth. Keeping the wall'o'taunts up between you and the Doomguard army is key, and N'Zoth is often the final nail in the Cube coffin.
What the loss of N'Zoth may help prevent is Warlockstone happening like Druidstone, where the #1 counter for a deck comes from the same class. We have no idea what the new xpac will bring, so all we can do at this point is hope it brings something that hard counters big charge minions ... but it's gonna be tough to replace a wall of Voidlords, to be honest.

Are you sure about that? According to HSReplay, Cubelock has a 66.8% winrate against Controlock which is very significant.
Just give it a week or 2, cubelock is far from unbeatable, and now that aggro and razakus took a big hit, new decks specially designed to counter cubelock will emerge.
We might even see control shaman\mage decks become popular because they are terrible against priests and high tempo aggro but should be fine against warlocks.
Easily the most reasonable post in this thread.
The HS community's track record for accurately predicting the meta is not great. It doesn't make any sense to discuss changing a card based on an assessment of a future meta. A meta, I might add, that is the result of changes that haven't even been implemented yet.
Maybe wait until the meta settles down after the changes to determine what, if anything, is a problem?
Dark Pact is not a problem. Is is pretty lackluster when used on a different minion. The problem is skull/lackey combined with powerful demons. So if control lock becomes too powerful after the patch, they will either increase cost of skull/lackey by 1 (unlikely + doesn't impact umbra combo) or rotate Doomguard. There is no need to make Dark Pact even worse than it's now.
What is wrong my dear smorc bmers? Are you afraid that for once your wretched kind won't dominate the ladder? Are you afraid that you will stay back at rank 15 where you belong? :P Well don't be.There are plenty cancerous decks that are favoured against any controllock deck, like exodia mage and tempo mage and then there are non cancerous decks like control shaman, control pally, miracle rogue and other amazing decks that see no play because of the power lvl of smorc (oh yeah not smorc but tempo/midrangy bla bla) and raza priests.
Hello, my name is jainaishot and I like to play decks that are unfavored in this meta and anything that beats me is cancer, then I go on forums and tell people that those decks are cancer...you know like this tier 2 tempo mage and tier 3 exodia mage...hazzzaaaaaa

Not going to be nerfed, doesn't need to be nerfed. Sorry people are salty about warlock, but that's all this is - salt.
Free to try and find a game, dealing cards for sorrow, cards for pain.
