The thing that you don't realise is that FTP players are keeping the game fresh. If all the FTP players left then the playerbase would become really small. Not to mention that when new players stop coming into the game it will eventually die out. That's why Blizzard has to listen to the FTP players and has to make sure that they keep playing the game.
I'm F2P and even I don't believe that T5 "has to listen to the FTP players". It is their game and they can do what they want with it, for the most part, and still be very successful with it. This sounds just like those WoW players who say that Blizzard needs to listen to their demands for changing flight or doing X, Y, or Z with the classes otherwise the game will die out.
Some free to play players will have more card resources than most paying players.
I buy the preorder bundle with most expansions. This nets me 50 packs. I usually get another 100 packs from gold from quests. So 2/3rds of my packs are f20.
On a given day I complete a quest (for roughly 50gold) and usually 10g from wins.
If I played enough to max out the 100g from wins each day this would be much more resources than buying the pre release bundle.
I am close to 100% F2P. I manage my resources carefully and just have fun with the cards and decks I can afford to craft. No complaints here! I'm always around rank 10 mostly because I don't put that much time into ranked play.
While it's certainly true the game needs to make money for it to exist, the prices in this game are utterly ridiculous. How come all these small indie companies can make card games as good, if not better than Hearthstone and charge a fraction of the price for packs? Blizzard isn't charging us this much to keep the game afloat, they're doing it because they can

Because there's enough demand for it. When you make things people want, you can make a lot of money from it.

That's exactly the point I was making. OP says paying players are keeping the game alive to be enjoyed by f2p? Blizzard is already breaking even many times over

How dare they? How dare they create a product that consumers want and then charge the maximum price that the market will tolerate. It’s almost as if THEY ARE A BUSINESS AND NOT A CHARITY.

That's not the point I was making. Since you can't read even two posts down, I'll quote myself:

I'm not complaining about the cost of packs. I'm saying the OP's argument is moot. Business is booming. They don't need every single dime from every single paying player to keep alive. Even if he's the biggest of whales, he's not single handedly making the game available for everyone else
If you dont support the game, why you expect Blizzard support you? And you can have everything in this game for free if you invest time on it. Atleast 1 top or 2nd tier deck. Ofc you cant expect to have 5-6 competitive decks when you f2p, Blizzard employees have wives and kids to feed too you know.

So why dont you play the other small indie companies card game, instead run to this forum and cry? Come on, admit it, HS is the best digital card game atm. Blizzard owns it, and they can charge x10 the price if they want. Why? Becuase there is no freaking competition at the moment. You can either accept it, or refuse and play other cheaper games like you said, its your right.

Yeah everyone and their mother is saying how the other games like faeria or whatever are so much better in every way...yet they always come back to hearthstone. The other games might be "better" in the sense of being more balanced, but that's not all there is to a game. Stuff like aesthetics and clean functionality do matter, and hearthstone has them beat hands down. There's also the popularity aspect - what's the point of playing a technically better small card game whose community will probably die off in a year or the devs abandon it? You never have to worry about that with hearthstone. Not saying hearthstone is perfect, just that there's a reason why games like faeria isn't dominating the online card game scene.

It's also the reason all these other games, get held up as being so much more generous than Hearthstone. It has nothing to do with benevolence it's just the easiest thing they can do to try and coax players from the market leader. Given it's nearest competitor made a quarter of the profit of Hearthstone in 2016 (not seen any figures for this year) it's clear that Hearthstone (despite its issues) is the dominant force in the market.

Arguing on the internet is like playing chess with a pigeon. You may be good at chess, but the pigeon is just going to knock all the pieces down, take a shit on the table, and strut around like its victorious.
Who/where are these F2P players that are making these complaints? I don't see anyone who claims to be free to play whining about not getting enough out of the game. It's the people who spend hundreds of dollars every year who cry about not getting enough for their efforts.
True dude I have Love and play both of these games. I have a mid range hunter deck in this game and have spent about 50 bucks. In magic on the other hand I have a few mid range commander and modern decks and I have spent about 5-600 dollars so the so called f2p players should stop whining. And I am only talking about the f2p whiners that complain that they don't win because they are f2p.
Your complaint is a lot less convincing when you have to create a thread for it because no one is actually complaining about the F2P friendliness of the game.
