So without an expansion even announced this thread may be a little premature, but I felt like looking back at Whispers, Gadgetzan, and Kharazan and seeing cards with either fun effects or generally allowed a bunch of fun synergies/combos.
Whispers of the Old Gods
Cabalist's Tome: 5 mana generate 3 spells. Currently it makes Quest mage a bit easier to do, and while generating random spells can make things somewhat infuriating at times it also allows for some of the most unlikely outcomes like shatter and freezing potion actually being used.
Herald Volazj: This card initially seemed to be interesting. Being able to have an easily killable copy of sylvanus or having a second rag blast sounded nice to have. Sadly at 6 mana it was just a tad too clunky, even when it could help summon more death rattles for quest priest it wasn't good enough. Gonna miss it even though it was never good or really playable.
Shadowcaster: Makes a tiny 1 mana 1/1 copy of something. Just fun and allows for some weird shenanigans. You could get an extra N'zoth, C'thun, Brann, or heck you could even get another shadowcaster... or two... along with 5 brann bronzebeards and have a never ending party of 1/1's
Evolve: It's Evolve, was the start of the Evolution Archetype which considering the variance has been one of the more fun decks even when it has been decent.
Renounce Darkness: High meme value, High variance, pretty fun. Only wish the hero power cost 1 less as well.
Ravaging Ghoul: I'll just miss this card as I think it's a really well made card. The stats by itself aren't great, but considering it comes with the whirlwind effect that synergizes with other cards in the warrior class. Only somewhat wish it was a 3 mana 3/4 that hurt itself than a 3/3 that doesn't.
All the Old Gods: I'm not sure if it's just me who has a soft spot for every old god but I think they were just great in their own ways. Yogg was a meme king who could generally be counted on to draw cards and completely change the board state, C'thun really helped newer players get into the game, N'zoth was amazing for deathrattle deck, and Y'shaarj... Well he wasn't that great outside of big priest but that one tavern brawl where you only had two cards... Well he still wasn't great there but a 10/10 that summons another 10/10 then those 10/10's summoning 2 more 10/10's was just a masterpiece despite not even being good or consistent.
Blood of the Ancient One: There have been so many fun combos that gave you a 30/30. Usually that was what the whole deck revolved around. It also probably taught a lot of new players watching the meme's why just a single really big minion that does nothing isn't good.
Mean Streets of Gadgetzan
Don Han'Cho: The leader of the worst gang of Gadgetzan, but also fairly fun in his own way considering what his ability gave. It had allowed for some inconsistent but rather fun otk strategies. Can't say he was ever a bad influence on hearthstone other than his gang allowed the dynamics of the expansion to be too lopsided.
Gadgetzan Hunter Beasts: AlleyCat/Cute cat were just amazing in their own ways, but the rest of the beasts were actually pretty good. The buff loving beasts were decent in the expansion, but became amazing through the deathknight's build a beast. Rat Pack basically just became that violet wurm wit the build a beast, Dispatch Kodo became assassinate or a small heal with poisonous or lifesteal, and Knuckles could just become crazy healing a ton with lifesteal, being a decent wall with taunt, or just smacking everything with windfury. Overall I think those beasts were a great part of gadetzan that will make Deathstalker Rexarr much worse when they rotate out.
Pint-sized potion: Was a fun card that originally some people thought would be good at negating a lot of damage. Turns out it was more used with shadow word: horror or potion of madness for combos. It was decent with other cards and made priest's attack manipulation a lot more interesting
Seadevil Stinger: It was a 4 mana 4/2 murloc for warlock that allowed you to pay health for murlocs. It was the only warlock murloc at the time and it's still the only murloc warlock class card. Considering warlock is decent for zoo and murloc's could be a decent zoo archetype with a little warlock support this card seemed to be promising murloc support for warlock in the future. Today however that was the only warlock murloc that exists and it was not enough to make zoo play murlocs. Going to miss it just for the idea of warlocks using murlocs and being good.
Mayor Noggenfogger: Was just a fun card. Still is a fun card. Get it from released from amber under certain circumstances and Noggen can win the game for you. Whenever he was around it just made the game so much interesting.
Dirty Rat: Makes things "fun and interactive"... actually why did I put those words in quotes he really did make certain decks a lot more interactive. Pulling a Raza or sorcerer's apprentice may not have necessarily won you a game but it made it so decks that rely on certain minions to get a giant amount of power had a counter.
One Night in Kharazan
Purify: Yeah it's a meme card that with a struggling priest class seemed like a slap in the face. However today I kind of wished there was a minion with an effect drawback so bad but another part so good that you would play Purify, or on the other hand have more debuff cards so you would want to Purify your minions of those debuffs.
Prince Malchezaar: It upgraded the pitiful 30 legendary deck into the amazing 35 legendary deck! Alright he's not great but it also showed a lot of players something in terms of deckbuilding. I mean most people rated him as meta defining, but then two things were reinforced. 1. adding lot's of filler in a deck is bad, 2. Random legendaries tend to be bad. Malchezaar himself was a 5 mana 5/6 demon with that demon tag more being a bad thing then a good thing considering if he became good then sacrificial pact may have became meta. a 5 mana 5/6 isn't bad but at the time a 5 mana 5/6 needed to do something to be considered good. Then he also gave you a bunch of unsynergetic garbage usually. So yeah I'll miss him as the 35 legendary deck is no longer standard possible and he helped teach players a lesson in deckbuilding.
Barnes: His effect has been really powerful. It made big priest amazing, it gave us a couple ancient one combos, and I'm sure in wild he will keep giving us gold in his special way.
Moroes: A fragile stealth minion that generates 1/1's. Was meta kinda during Un'goro when Quest Rogue was "dominating" the meta for a short time. Had always felt that if there was a bit more stealth support cards Moroes could've been better but currently he's more like a shade of naxxramus whose pieces keep getting cut off.
Arcane Giant: My favorite Giant. Generally good in more spell focused decks as 0 mana 8/8's tend to be good. Had decent synergy with he rogue deathknight, was a casuals dream for ttk combos that was actually available for all classes. 2 of these giants one turn then Alex the next into a win. It wasn't as good as Antonidas but it existed.
Violet Illusionist: this was a card that was either amazing or unusable, but when it was amazing it was amazing. So when was it amazing? Well it would happen to be in the blood magic tavern brawls where if you played this and a Lyra or a shit ton of card draw and you simply just won the game from there. That said it's effect of negating damage to your hero during your turn was interesting and wish was more useful.

So those were the cards I'm really going to miss during the standard rotation. Can't wait to see what we can do with them in wild though. Anyone else have any cards they are going to miss?

I'm going to miss all the Paladin Hand-buff cards. Always had a deck slot dedicated to Hand-buff Paladin ever since MSOG and I'm going to be sad once it leaves standard.
Jade cards that AREN'T DRUID. I actually really liked the archetype, however the only class that went meta with it was druid, which is a shame, as there are a lot of cool things about jade shaman and rogue.
Not gonna lie... I'm gonna miss Kazakus and Raza the Chained. Ya with Shadowreaper Anduin they're totally OP, and I don't care. I love highlander decks. It creates such variable play and you really feel it when you play you decks only copy of whatever. Goodbye legit highlander decks... you will be missed
Tons of shaman decks used Jade Lightning and Jade Claws while Jade Spirit and Aya were fairly consistent inclusions as well. KaC made Jade Rogue far more viable than it has ever been before with Sonya, Zola and Cube giving you plenty of opportunities to repeatedly replay Jade Swarmers. It's still one of my favourite decks out of the expansion.
Seadevil Stinger: It was a 4 mana 4/2 murloc for warlock that allowed you to pay health for murlocs. It was the only warlock murloc at the time and it's still the only murloc legendary.
Sea devil stinger is not a legendary. Also there are two legendary murlocs in the game already - sir Finley mrrglton and old murkeye.

Farewell MSoG, you won't be missed
On the third day before Witchwood, Blizzard gave to me,
three Handlock decks,
two Molten Giants
and a winstreak to Legend Rank #3
Disclaimer: This is a fictional poem and this didn't actually happen to me.
Looking over this list, I didn't realize how happy I am going to be in April. Begone you putrid cards!
I am going to miss Aya-waifu though! :3
Malchezaar’s Imp. The only card that allowed the forced Discard archetype to see any play.
Ill miss jade, razakus, yshar and nzoth
I will play only Standard for some months after rotation only to not see the cursed Patches again.
I will miss Kharazan cards, nice and fair cards, because of this few will see play in Wild.
Patches. I'd rather have it stay in Standard so that the pirate aggro players wouldn't come to Wild.
I'm going to miss all the Paladin Hand-buff cards. Always had a deck slot dedicated to Hand-buff Paladin ever since MSOG and I'm going to be sad once it leaves standard.
I'll miss Potion of Madness for sure.
Kaladin's RoS Set Review
Join me at Out of Cards!
I will be sad to see patches, raza, jade idol, n’zoth’s first mate and dragon fire potion go.
Nobody mentioned Counterfeit Coin, Medivh's Valet, and Netherspite Historian?
Shame
