There are a lot of OTK and TTK decks possible but they all can be disrupted by stuff like Ice Block orCounterspell or just by armoring up like crazy. They are high damage combos that most of the time can finnish off the enemy regardless of his advantage but they can be survived in fringe cases.
Destroy the enemy hero on the other hand ignores truly anything. The only card like this we've seen so far is Uther of the Ebon Blade. Should there be more efects like this? How would you balance them? Do you have any personal designes?
I think this concept is too dangerous to become common, if they made one card per expansion like this, evenctually they would make a mistake and break the ladder for 2 months.
I don't think there's anything particularly wrong with the effect, provided that they don't release any broken cards built around it. Uther's effect isn't really broken at all, as if you are in a position in the game where your opponent allows you to hero power 4 times without being able to clear your board, odds are you were going to win anyway. The weapon and the hero power upgrade makes a difference a lot more often that the actual win the game combo.
Mmm i don't know, but i would certainly love a card like this :'' Wipe Raza Priest and Mill Players from the game'' Or even better: ''Force Raza Priests and Mill players to face only each other''.

I think the game is robust enough to survive maybe one or two more cards like Uther where a clock is put down onto the field, and your opponent just loses if they cannot seal the deal in time, or if some super hard condition is met.
Like... 'battlecry: if neither player has cards in their decks, destroy the enemy hero'. Or 'quest: survive 20 turns, door to nothingness. Destroy the enemy hero', or, '10 mana 12/12 battlecry: if you played no other cards with card text, destroy the enemy hero' (spells or otherwise). Or 35 mana 10/10 with 'costs 1 less for each card your opponent draws' 'destroy the enemy player' (doesnt get retroactive discounts)
Could be fine and fair if it is properly balanced.
It’s been said by a lot of people but yeah counterplay is key, as it is hearthstone doesn’t give as much chance to disrupt your opponent vs say instants in magic. Not to mention poor control warrior doesn’t do well against much these days but it can curb a Raza Priest combo!
Uther is only an acceptable card because it requires a lot of things to go right for the user for it to ever work. The 2/2s are so easy to handle that there should only extremely rarely be a case where you can hero power 4 turns in a row and have them all stick, and if they do the actual OTK version with beardo you can just deny it by not giving them any coins through the bully, or dirty rat and kill the beardo later in the game before they play the DK.
I've been playing that deck a lot and only rarely do I win because of the hero power effect from uther. Usually it's just from playing normal control paladin and controlling the board and copying lynessa etc.
That's how a "kill the hero" card should work in my opinion - hard to pull off but is an alternate way to win if the pieces fall in place. I don't want to see blizzard print more cards like that and make one for every class or something because they'll inevitably screw one up and make one that's just too easy and you're done.
More people will have fun with play and counterplay, where your skills and decisions matter, not because someone drew their "I win" card.
I think he phrased it poorly, but what he's saying is if blizzard should print more cards that after meeting a certian condition destroy the enemy hero, like Uther of the ebon blade

Well, Azari, the Devourer is almost there with its insane power. Albeit it is not an instant "I win" card and requires prior set up - though this is the same as Uther in that respect.
Hey, can you imagine your opponet playing Millhouse Manastorm when you have the first seal in hand? XD
1) That's not neutral 2) The secrets where that was true have been removed (Jaraxxus no longer effected by sacred trial and repentance) 3) The remaining card isn't a secret.
I think that it should be a thing, but with too many of these cards, it can create a meta even worse than the current aggro meta (even priests - PRIESTS - are aggro right now). I personally think it should be pretty tough to execute, but they can be very interesting. Here's one of my designs:

Was this supposed to be a reply to me? I'm a bit confused by your comment. (The notification alert said you were replying to me) Sorry - maybe I misunderstood the criteria? I was comparing it to the DK Uther ability (as a card that provides a means to win the game easily). I'm not sure where the bit about secrets came into it though? I think we may have a miscommunication there somewhere? I don't think I mentioned secrets at all.

No, "I WIN" cards should be a rarity.

Bad players whine.
Good players adapt.
Yeah. I want a neutral secret that says, "when your opponent plays Shadowreaper Anduin, destroy the enemy hero".

If anything I would love to be able to SILENCE the enemy hero. That would:
--> remove all the shield
--> revert hero power to original one (negates sir Finley, sideshow spelleater and justicar trueheart)
and eventually, if that's not a transform effect
--> return to starting hero (negates DK's, jaraxxus and mojordomo executive)
Ebon Blade harder to pull off than dumbass questmage,
Fun > Meta
No, there should be counterplay. Indirect hard-to-get win conditions is enough imo, like with Rin, the First Disciple

Wait what? Why? Hell no.
Where shall I start...
