Rank 15 & each player is only trying to cube lock his voidlord or is a priest with a poster of duskbreaker over his bed, Honestly the game is down to two types of people. Questions for the try hards playing these hearthpwn decks, is it awkward playing an opponent with the same deck as you every other game? or are these one trick decks that fun to play?
But seriously Duskbreaker should hit face & carnivores cube should negate death rattle upon consumption or carry over buffs so other classes can play the card. I understand agro was an issue for players that wanted to bash face late game for 32 damage after not playing a card for 7 turns but we didn't need to break the game to deal with it.
Right now Void lord is used in 62.85% of warlock decks. Of those (& if they can afford it dust wise) they should all be trying to draw & cube that card. Dusk breaker slightly less so appearing only 44% of priest decks but honestly the other 64% ether haven't paid for one night in Karazhan to craft Netherspite historian or haven't won a game in over a month.
Also I totally admit Im salt salt salt, but even corridor creeper doesn't touch these two cards
Blizz juice drinkers don't like people creating threads to complain. They made a thread for that. Most players are trying hard and you are included in most btw

Funny, I was thinking that with those percentages, you were /defending/ the cards. A class card appearing in half the decks doesn’t seem oppressive to me. Compare it to true cancer cards like patches and small time bucaneer pre-nerf in warrior... which weren’t even class cards... that’s cancer.
To be fair, all OP is asking is why are only two archetypes being played?
”People want to win” is a dumb answer. People can win with all sorts of decks. So what is the real reason? Probably some pro players experimented (which is what we should all be doing btw) found a neat synergy and posted on a website. Then 50,000 people copied it blindly and use it now.
its odd that this is the first season I’ve noticed it in ranks 25-20. Even 15 is early to see T1 EVERYWHERE in past seasons. Good luck new players and people like me who actually build their own decks. I do make it pretty far on the ladder, btw, but I prefer wild and casual for the diversity.
will it go away? Hopefully with time, but if it doesn’t someone will create a counter and they will become the norm in the ladder. Just try to have fun.

People wanting to win in part of though, and it is extended by people not just wanting decks that win, but wanting those decks that are *most consistent*. Look at how often the grind to legend is complained about. All it is is a massive time sink/grind and in general most players don't like such a long grind so that is why most metas end up with 2-3 decks. People find the most most consistent winning deck that that shortens the grind to legend slightly (at least on paper) and the other people try to capitalize on cheesing the grind by taking advantage of a deck that counters that previously most consistent deck. As long as decks are even slightly better than other decks this will always be an aspect of the game that is extremely unlikely to go away.
I don't know, I've got 3/7 wins against the legendary card backs this season (we all count them ;) ) . They aren't playing these two cards, (its normally Murlock Pal) & I get that players might think these decks "shorten" the grind to legendary cause they hit rnk 15 crushing value & flubbing to turn 10, but they really just waste everyones time in the long term.
I agree, have fun - play cancer,
but get out of the way!!!! ten turns is sooooo long
To be fair, all OP is asking is why are only two archetypes being played?
There are "ONLY" two archetypes played in a single class? And THATS a problem??
I only remember classes playing 1 archetype and only few classes being truly viable. Now we have like 4 classes viable and several of them playing multiple archetypes and people still complain its the worst ever??
It only shows most people have the memory of a goldfish.
Why make threads based on anecdotes and lies and then suddenly reply with statistics and percentages? And the cancer hyperbole just makes you look like a stupid child trying to fit in with the cool kids.
According to the latest VS report Dragon Priest is T2 and Cube Lock T3. Dragon Priest is 9% and Warlock is 12.66% of the total decks played.

My guess is that this is the most diverse meta with the least amount of aggro HS has ever had. People seeing this meta back in the day of shamanstone, face hunter and pirate warrior would be thrilled. But there will always be something to complain about.
Just to defend the OP........... he is talking about rank 15 and his experience. Not what meta is. I myself have been fighting in those waters today and alot of decks are priest and warlock.......usually cube vs summoner, you do face other decks.......just it does feel like 8 out 10 matches are vs the other.......even when you switch sides lol.
idgaf, i can still play against those decks. just spent my saved dust on yogg and 2 deck of wonders because i play for fun, even if i lose ranked against cubelocks or razakus im good cause i play for fun, stressing isnt worth it for a game. youre not a pro player playing for money or in a tournament or some shit so just play watever u want and if you lose oh well stop playing and try again another day.
Spiteful summoner priest is disgusting but it's cheap.. even cheaper than aggro decks like face hunter and paladin and it is quite strong so.. also warlocks finally got good cards this expansion so let they shine a bit.. i am more worried when raza rotates out (warlock counter)

Edit: Spelling
Have you thought maybe the toxicity in this game isn’t just coming from everyone else?
Everyone enjoys different things. There’s probably people who hate the decks you play and think they’re cancer. Your opinion isn’t the only valid one.
I believe this belongs in the salt thread.
In a competitive game mode people play competitive decks, so what you observe is just how it is supposed to be.
Cheers

The game does seem to lack any dimension. The game maker's approach of 'taking turns' has been an abject failure to which they stubbornly cling.
Free to try and find a game, dealing cards for sorrow, cards for pain.

Control/cube Warlock is less than 13% of the meta, and dragon priest is less than 10%. Quit spreading misinformation

To be fair I've noticed whenever I play my spiteful priest (I'm rank 18 at the moment) I only ever come up against cubelock and spiteful priest.
Last month when I was rank 14/15, I came up against a whole variety of decks.
If I use my mage deck however, I come up against mage 90% of the time.
I don't even remember the last time I saw a Paladin or warrior on the ladder..

well, the meta is just very limited right now...and Priest and Lock are probably the most fun decks out of all the working ones.
The gap between viable decks and fun decks has just gotten too wide.
I tried having fun once. It was awful.
With two types at a specific level, its an opportunity, not a problem. The opportunity is to find a deck that beats whatever deck you see more of.
If you are in your first year of playing please read this post.
Dust does not burn a hole in the jar. Be careful what you craft, especially before and right after a rotation.
