But I'm over here tired of all of a sudden facing nothing but aggro paladins. Is it just me or are they all over the ladder all of a sudden? Last week I had a nice mix of control locks and priests and druids but now it feels like they should just change Uther's opening line to "I will fight with tons of 1/1 minions" because 50-60% of my recent opponents are aggro paladins and climbing the ladder is just not possible anymore. Unfortunately I cannot run a control lock deck because I lack all of the main cards aside from void lords and the weapon. Any other decks good against this deck? I'm quite sick of it. I don't usually have a problem with aggro decks but this iteration is probably the least fun aggro deck I've ever seen
Any deck with early game AoE works very well and that is basically available to almost all classes in some form.
Yeah I tried to tech in a couple volcanic potions but it's just not enough with things like call to arms seemingly always ready to be used. Guess I can try going back to priest

You're more likely to find aggro and overall fast decks at the end of the season, there's a lot of people that for whatever reason couldn't grind enough during the month or that are not in their desired rank so they want to climb with solid decks but also want games to be as fast as possible for obvious reasons, you don't want your last couple days of climbing to be 20 minutes games where you could just lose so aggro decks are the way to go for many, either you win or lose the game is done in 5 minutes at most 90% of the time. For the decks I would recommend well Aggro druid just stomps on paladin, your deck is faster, the buffs are more consistent and they can't deal with living mana turns, the key is like in any other aggro vs. aggro match-up, trade until you control the board and you win ez. Another deck is any slow warlock, either full control or cubelock, just hard mulligan for any kind of AoE you have, both Defile and Hellfire absolutely destroy aggro paladin and from there is just really hard for them to recover and you start to hit the power turns, if you get a void lord out early they just can't come back cause almost none aggro pally runs spell breaker for whatever reason. Finally other decks with solid AoE like Big Spell priest (with duskbreaker). Raza priest, Jade druid and others can do fine vs any aggro but you pretty much need to either hard hard mulligan for the removal or hit it on curve or you are in a bad position but it isn't unwinnaable or anything, you just need to know your mulligans, but warlock and aggro druid are for sure the safe bet.
i still don't know how people are baffled by the aggro wave at EVERY END AND BEGINNING OF EVERY MONTHLY SEASON.
Is it too hard to remember that?
The thing you need to learn about the internet is the fact that even though you have read and written something before tens, hundreds or even thousands of times before..that doesn’t mean that everyone else also has. That simply means that there will be someone who doesn’t know what you know.

I also have to accept this from time to time.
OP has more than 1000 comments, so he's not new to HS. Argument invalid

I do not really care about OP but I see your point :) If you can tell me that you learned something, then I am most happy.
I think that the reason why people hate highlander priest cuz it feels like a lottery to play against it. There is no prevent or anything to do if the opponent ranza 5, anduin 8. It is an automatic lost and there is nothing you can do to make your chance better except going extreme aggro like aggro paladin. Aggro paladin exist because highlander priest exist.
Highlander priest is a deck that is simply inherently broken. It warps the meta around it to the point where you can't even begin to think about building a deck without having a consistent gameplan against it. It doesn't matter how any particular meta looks like, a deck like Highlander Priest will always be tier 1 if it is allowed to exist.
Aggro pally is a decent aggro deck that happens to be really good in the current meta. It is nowhere near inherently broken, and I predict that it will be significantly worse when the next expansion releases, similar to what happened to tempo rogue.

Isn't tempo rogue still quite viable? With the addition of Wandering Minstrel, it can be quite good. (Keleseth out early; draw lots of buffed minions, etc)

Yes, but it has become significantly weaker.
What I meant was, HP is a broken deck at its core, and no matter how much people try to counter it, it will still be a tier 1 deck. Aggro pally and tempo rogue, on the other hand, were only top decks because they happened to suit the meta in their respective times(ie, they happened to be good against the other decks people were playing, rather than just being straight up too good).

I agree with everything you said, except the tempo Rogue comment. It’s been performing much better for me since minstrel came out. I took out cold bloods for coins so i can almost always hit the combo on vilespine/minstrel/SI7.
Yes when highlander priest hits the nuts, it’s unbeatable. But a lot of decks can do that. Skull into cube dark pact is game ending vs a lot of decks. So is double shadowstep Keleseth, or Barnes into ES into Shadow Essence into spell stone. A lot of the “highroll” decks can win without the god hand, but nobody likes playing against a deck with the nuts.

I have never had an issue with aggro decks at the end of the month prior to this. In my personal experience the aggro users usually thin out one week in.
This is why I don't switch decks. Switched and not a single aggro deck to be found. All i'm facing now are control decks and they all got fantastic top deck luck, every fucking game...guess I'm just not meant to rank up any more -.-

*Shrugs* can't you really say the same thing about any deck that gets their perfect hand at the time they need it? You generally lose to almost any god draws/hands from almost any decent deck.

rogue should out tempo them cause their hero power gets rid of 2 of theirs.
also can tech fan of knives against them.also makes divine favor kinda useless since you don't have much of a hand.
Aggro druid crushes aggro paladin
priest is good with duskbreaker, potion of madness, holy nova, spirit lash, and worst of all psychic scream.

Control warrior can work vs aggro , tempo and highlander priest. But just concede if you queue to Control lock or dragon priest lolz.
