Ive been playing this game for a long time now and often I find myself trying to build kinda wonkier decks to play for fun. No where near a tier 1 deck. But unfortunately casual is just full of people playing tier 1 decks for quests or just cause it’s easier then playing ladder and obviously losing to tier one decks makes playing your “for fun” deck terrible.. I just wish there was a mode where you don’t earn quest rewards or gold for wins so that people can go play for fun, which I feel is lacking in this game.
Too late for you, but if people want to play wonky stuff in casual then never repeat never play a competitive deck there. MMR goes down a lot slower than it goes up. I guess you could try throwing a bunch of games to lower your match rating, but it's going to take like a 100.
Also, the theory that people running tier deck in casual are questing for gold is nonsense. People do it for a lot of reasons - a break from the ladder, an environment with distractions, or to just upset other players. The proposed mode would solve no problems and just increase queue times.
I literally just got done playing 6 matches, 3 secret tempo mage, 2 big priest, Aggro pally. So yeah people play tier 1 net decks in casual but that makes Causal not casual because people are, even though it’s a small sample, frequently playing those decks. Even though some people do that to get away from ranked or just to upset other players, if they were getting no quest rewards and no gold I think that would drastically decrease the amount of tier 1 deck being played in a “casual” mode.
Same decks as ranked in casual squashes the fun. I know that freeze shaman is not a “real” deck, but not being able to play a fun deck cause I get crushed 9/10 games means there is almost no point to printing 50% of cards cause there isn’t any real space in this game to even try to play them.

The only point of those cards is to make the good cards good. The main problem with a no rewards mode is the que times would likely be quire long. You also still get people playing tier one decks that they legitimately like to play. I would say all the tier one decks are fun to play right now.
But you could still play those tier one decks in casual for rewards, so that begs to question, if you had a deck that has a 50% win rate why would you want to play that in a mode where you earn no rewards, When you could still play them in a non-ranked mode for rewards. I’d have no problem waiting longer for a que for that kind of mode but I do understand that there still would be people that would play that kinda deck. I know that this isn’t a mode that will happen, I was mostly hoping that I’d have some people that would like a mode where you can legitimately experiment less burdened by the masses of net decking.

Should have a special place in Hell for this people playing Tier 1 decks in casual...

Free to try and find a game, dealing cards for sorrow, cards for pain.
"People do it for a lot of reasons..."
Or to practice with an unfamiliar deck...
Dungeon run
I just find it less stressful. Same decks as Ranked, just none of the worry.

When will people realize that most people play to win so will play what is best? There will NEVER be a “utopia” where people play “fun” decks.
Get over it.

I’d love to win 25% of the time with a fun deck but unfortunately it like <10% with plenty of fun decks when playing against the current meta decks.
