I am pretty sure Blizz will change something sooner than later with the declining of pro players and pro streamers of Hearthstone. Ostkaka for example not that long ago etc.
Boring and fun are subjective; based on opinions. Some might have more fun cruising to a high rank; others may like 4-20 minute games in a row. I'm not a fan of long games where the player has to rope every turn before making an obvious play on turn 1. That being said, I don't view aggro as a problem as the top tier decks aren't all aggro shaman, token druid, etc. Only aggro paladin is even in tier 1.
retitle this thread "how do we deal with highlander priest problem?"
Aggro will always exist and it will not go away. The majority of players are still grinding to get legend for the sense of achievement, cardback etc. The reason why they choose aggro is not because they have fun with it, it's rather the opposite, they pick it because it gives them faster wins and over the course of their climb, it makes it so that they get there faster than it would be with a control or midrange deck.

A lot of people don't seem to realize this, but the reason why there is so much aggro is chiefly because Priest is the best deck. This goes for Razakus and Big since they both pose similar problems for most control decks.
There are a TON of decks that could easily counter aggro, but they can't counter aggro and priest at the same time. This is why we see Cubelock splitting the baby, reducing it's percentages against aggro so it can increase them against Priest.
So yeah - when you're bitching about aggro, remember Priest.

The pro scene is dying.
I'm pretty sure this isn't going to happen.
Maybe not a pro scene dying, of course not, there will always be tryhards. But I think Blizz is not too stupid to reconize the heavy amount of pro players that left the game in the last year.
And not only pro players, a lot of streamers have another main game already.
Blizz mentioned before they think about other way ranked play...and it's about time.

And they have by the revamped circuit.
I am not talking about the tournament style, I am talking about ranked gameplay. And the circuit made it even worse for pro players
You admit right off the bat that aggro is not unbalanced; you just think it's boring playing against it. If you want to play long games with slow decks, find other like minded people, and play via your friends list. You can even get quests done...

aggro will exist without razakus. aggro didnt suddenly pop on the scene once KFT was released.

Life before death. Strength before weakness. Journey before destination.
Aggro exists because big priest, razakus or exodia exist. Which one do you play?
lol no it doesn't. If these decks didn't exist, do you really think aggro would go away?
Aggro exists because it's easy, cheap, fast games, and gets wins.
Aggro now has cards that negate one of traditional downsides, which is losing card advantage. Normally when you play out a bunch of cheap minions, you give up having cards in hand in the mid game for hopefully a board your opponent can't deal with. Well, in addition to Divine Favor, Paladin can now put three minions on board with just a single card. No penalty in card disadvantage anymore.
What Control then needs is something on equal ground. Something that summons a minion every time you draw a card.
In all fairness control has been out pacing aggro for awhile now, control keeps gaining more removal, healing and taunts while aggro only gains power creep on new minions while getting old minions nerfed - I mean Call to Arms only seems OP until you realize Warlock has Hellfire AND Defile now. In the aggro vs control arms race, control always come out on top until in the end until the next set rotation.
By 'control' you mean exclusively Control Warlock. So if I wanna play aggro, congrats here's like fifty choices. If I wanna play control, fuck you, spend a million dust and play cubelock, your ONE AND ONLY choice.
No? Just look at the tools controls deck have now compared to release, Mage has three more sweepers between Volcanic Potion, Meteor and Dragon's Fury and so does Priest between Dragonfire Potion, Spirit Lash and Psychic Scream. You really have no idea how difficult it was to hold off Face Hunter then compared to holding off Pirate Warrior now - it got Leper Gnome, Abusive Sergeant, Ironbeak Owl and Arcane Golemn all nerfed into the ground because they wouldn't print removal/sustain tools then compared to them growing off trees now.

1, control mage isn't a thing. 2, control mage...isn't a thing, so nobody gives a shit about mage board clears except solitaire mage. 3, DFP, Spirit Lash, and Psychic Scream don't see play outside of solitaire priest. So I don't really give a shit about those, because actual control priest doesn't exist. 4, I played Control Priest exclusively back in the day, so yes I DO know. It is FAR FAR FAR more difficult to deal with early game snowball bullshit now than it was before. Back in the day....oh thank god I got Deathlord in the mulligan and got Belcher for turn 5. Now....fuck me I'm dead before I can even cast DFP. T1 Pirate, T2 Keleseth, T3 Southsea, T4 Creeper, T5 Scalebane,.......T1 1/1 divine sheld taunt, T2 Juggler, T3 Coin + summon 3 more fucking dudes, T4 3 more fucking dudes or a weapon that I now have to somehow deal with....
No. It's FAR more difficult now. Trust me. Back in the day, 3 mana spent meant 3 mana worth of value. Now? Who the fuck knows, it's all about cheating out as much bullshit as you can for free or next to free.

You missed the point.
Your point was that aggro's current role is to counter Priest. You can't place the blame on Priest, as without Priest, aggro will still be here. It will just then counter whatever replaces Priest.

You know that the best deck in the game is Razakus Priest aka a Control Priest, right?
"reveal a spell from your deck and summon a minion with the same cost"
"at the end of your turn, cast a random spell from your deck"
yes because all classes have insanely strong and expensive spells. balanced neutrals amirite

Early game AoE like Defile does a stellar job.
*sniff* I smell a troll who got rolled by multiple aggro decks after using all his dust to create a Razakus Priest deck.
