Ever since landing the warlock and paladin quests in Un'Goro, as well as all the warlock legendaries that have discard bonuses, I've tried to make them work when a new expansion hits.
Cataclysm DOES make the warlock quest work, and it's impressive if your Malchezaar's Imp is present to reflood your deck. However, I can't say it competitively helps you, as two of my opponents conceded just by the sight of it (In non-ladder play, I may add). And I received another win I didn't deserve when a control warrior experimenting with the new deathrattle cards decided to give up even though I was on my second to last card. It's worth further experimenting I think, but not to be more than a change of pace.
As for the paladin quest, I tried crafting a divine shield deck. But I didn't have enough card draw. Considering you need 6-7 buffs (counterspell or Skulking Geist concerns), you may be stuck with weak minions or buffs and no minions. While the card is probably meant for this deck, I doubt crafting Lynessa Sunsorrow would help me with the early game.
The pally quest is kind of in a bad situation that I don't think that any sort of success with buffadin will actually come from the quest as it stands right now. Its possible that the combination of the new DS draw buff, Blessing of Kings, and Spikeridge Steed might make Lynessa playable in a midrange pally build but I don't see pally quest actually becoming viable before rotation at least assuming ever.
I’m doing excellent with Quest Paladin. Using Pyro and Acolytes for draw. I usually finish my quest by 5-8, and have not dealt with a single geist.
Pyro is excellent at dealing with Aggro boards, while the Triple threat of Lynessa, Galvadon (sometimes multiples if i save a getaway kodo for them vs control or combo), and buffed minion (usually scalebane) from the new Legendary Weapon. Having a blast and it’s not half bad.

I have been using Lynessa in a midrange paladin deck with 2 Steeds 2 kings and 2 potions of heroism.
She works great. I also incuded The Voraxx which is insane with the combo kings + potion

I don't have Lynessa, but I did revisit quest paladin just because of potion of heroism and that card has helped a lot.
Voraxx is pretty important to give you another win condition. I imagine Lynessa will be similar. I just need to see if she is worth it or not.
