Opened total shit, did 2 dungeon runs - got bored after that so i started playing ladder - got bored after 4 games, quit the game, this never happened to me I always enjoyed first few days of an expansion. Worst expansion for me so far (playing since naxx)
That is because there was an unprecedented amount of shit and filler legendaries this expac. Mostly the weapons being horrible save for a couple meta-busters.
Also, it appears the over-all power level of cards is lower than previous expansions which is why current meta-decks will be bolstered rather than new ones burgeoning.
I was really enjoying ladder until I ran up against a wall of nothing but Priests for about 15 straight games. I guess if they were new or innovative decks at all it would maybe be interesting....... but every priest I’ve seen has just been Raza priest. It’s the same shit we’ve seen before, it’s still an unwinnable matchup for pretty much every deck if they curve into Anduin on 8, which they always do.
I think there are so many cool ideas and cards that could be tried out this expansion but it’s not going to happen unless we get a balance patch. Raza priest just shits on anything new or fun and makes you feel like an idiot for even trying. The best version of the deck is probably 29/30 cards exactly the same as KFT as well. I’ll keep trying ladder for awhile but if this is what it’s going to be this expansion I’m done til we get a card rotation.
2 legendaries, 5 epics, 3 golden commons and 1 golden rare, 9 duplicate rares and 60 duplicate commons in 45 packs doesnt have to do anything with card power level
Very dissapointed with Kingsbane - was hoping for the ability to copy the weapon with its effects, but no luck. Very happy with the hunter weapon and the new spell deck. I think people underestimate Oakheart, he is pretty nice in my dragon warrior deck. Discolock is pretty sweet with the new spell.
Also certain weapons which were rated lowly, like Skull of the Man'ari, are exceeding expectations. Not many people are running ooze or Jones.
Possibly because the community was largely unimpressed by the weapon.
Skull of the Man'ari was one weapon I actually wanted to get. Warlock is my main, and it would allow us to play with a lot of demons we usually don't play due to harmful battlecries. The catch is that it really does nothing in the turn it's played. But boy, if you don't destroy it, you're in for some nightmare.
In wild this weapon could be crazy. The harmful battlecries you couldn't avoid because you drew the demon can be instead summoned by Voidcaller. Just how fast can you put dangerous, beefy demons on board? I would even run a Faceless Manipulator in decks like this.
edit: Nah, Skull summons from hand, not deck. But a with both it and Possessed Lackey could have insane tempo.
First day: a lot of "i hunt alone" deck, a lot of "weapon rogue (cancer, and this will be the reason of raza priest be played more)", for now those decks.
Kingsbane is going to be better than I anticipated, and I thought it was going to be good.
It will take some time to work the kinks out of the deck. Maybe it fits in a normal tempo. Maybe it fits better in miracle. Maybe it's something else all together.
But an infinite Grave Vengeance or better is really really impactful.
Loads of fun, swinging with my 15/3 lifesteal weapon :) And Sonya is just insane!
No rogue epics or legendaries in my packs, so had to craft them, too bad. But got some great warlock cards including the funny Rin. Still have to win with her though :) Also got the Master Oakheart. Still have to try them out since the rogue cards are just insanely fun!
Even though certain legendaries are underwhelming, there's a lot of potential and I've seen some cool experimetnal decks on the ladder yesterday. Modified my Jade Evo Shaman, probably gonna go for a Recruit Astral Tiger Druid deck today.
I played this Recruit Druid deck recipe yesterday. Its hilarious! I would recommend throwing in Spirtsinger Umbra and Arfus. You will get funny results. Army of the dead is actually good. Astral tiger makes sure you never run out of minions to pull with the Recruit minions. You just keep flooding the board in the mid game.
A lot of the decks are really fun, but i can already tell ill be cutting a lot of the new cards once things get serious.
Im getting a grand crusader vibe.
It honestly feels like a lot of the new cards just arent that strong, especially the weapons, and they cant compete with the card quality of last 2 expansions.
Its sad that a lot of the old lists of frozen thrones have crushed all my new decks, raka priest, jade dru and temp rogue mostly. and they run very few if any new cards
On the first day of WOTOG I ran into a bunch of midrange shamans with their tunnel troggs, totem golems and 4 mana 7/7's and from what I remember they pretty much destroyed unrefined decks on the opening day. I have to say the expansion has been fun, and its been a while since I have had a first day without running into a bunch of pirate warriors wanting to rush down my face by turn 4 but that deck became obsolete once war axe got nerfed, there are still aggro decks and razakus priest but overall it has been enjoyable.
I played a N'zoth/Hadranox Druid with Oaken Summons, Grizzled Guardian and Master Oakheart. Managed to beat a perfect curving aggro Druid by drowning him in taunts. Also beat Mill Rogue even though my deck is really slow. I was able to pressure him enough with big recruit turns that they died before they could draw a second vanish. Lost to Big Priest with no new cards in it lol. It really is a pain in the ass to deal with multiple Ragnaros'.
Need to find the perfect balance of minions to recruit. When I draw Oakheart in the late game it often doesn't summon all 3 minions if I've already played Grizzled Veteran. I know Astral Tiger is an option, but the stats are mediocre and it doesn't have taunt!!!
Spell hunter was better than I thought, not sure if it will be top meta or anything but shows some real promise. It shit all over my Dragon Priest multiple times, though I could have been building it wrong.
Rin, the First Disciple was better than I thought. I have had the most success with a Rin Control Lock.
Control lock got some really nice tools. Turns out, Voidlord is considerably better than I thought. Lesser Amethyst Spellstone is as good as I thought, that is to say, pretty damn good. the 2/4 taunt and the 2/1 draw a card, are all fantastic.
Fal'dorei Strider is, unfortuantely not a card to build a deck around. It's just too slow. It is however a great tack on to a number of Rogue decks that want to draw a lot. (i.e. miracle).
Kingsbane might actually be solid enough to build a deck around and I didn't think it would be. It's also solid enough to fit the "Kingsbane package" into other deck types.
First impression is that even if you'd release 10789173281720987 cards, people would still end up playing the same retard decks.
And dungeon runs are fun until you get to the last boss. Unbalanced and frustrating.

Some good cards however legendary pulls as usual low (2 in 50) but gold cards seam a lot higher

Dungeon run are insanely funny, insane.

Dungeon run is loads of fun too!
Best HS experience since beta due to dungeons.
short answer: Razakus, tempo rogue and secret mage
Long answer: Since I am between rank 15 and 10, most of the players are net decking, I saw little to none innovation today.
Best first 2 days of any expansion so far. Played since “vanilla”.
A lot of the decks are really fun, but i can already tell ill be cutting a lot of the new cards once things get serious.

My fears have come true. They decks are extremely weak.
Fun?
Hearthstone?
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAH

Beat your opponent to a pulp with Revenant Warrior or outlast them with Demon Reno Warlock.
