Scalebane is currently in pretty much every deck. Does this card change that? At worst, you can typically tell what deck you're playing against and play it as a 3 mana 4/3. Good control tech.
You can deal with 2 dragons if you draw 2 of these in game. idk how about you but in my dragon deck I am runing maybe 10-12 dragons so i dont see big problem in this
I was really damn hyped about Dragon Priest with the next expansion to have more a Dragon Tempo deck rather than the usual OTK Innerfire Dragon Priest. Now the main reason why i lost any faith in this archetyp is because of the new neutral card Dragonslayer, it´s literally the worst thing a Dragon lover could get, a 3 Mana 4/3 Battlecry: Destroy Cobalt Scalebane,Drakonid Operative, bonemare buffed Faerie Dragon, Hoarding Dragon and to finish off other Dragons like Ysera. Giving everyone such a powerful tech card without any drawback if it doesn´t get value with it´s Battlecry against a deck that probably wouldn´t even be Tier 1, seems really unfair to me. Meanwhile Keleseth Rogue and Jade Druid´s don´t have to worry about any tech cards.
What do u guys think? Will this archetyp be unplayable because of Dragonslayer?
It's a terrible, terrible tech card that will barely see much play in any sensible deck. It doesn't even guarantee kills against the more problematic dragons such as Yser, Alexstrasza, etc. And unless the meta suddenly becomes all dragon decks (like the problem with pirate floods currently with Patches, etc), then it becomes a dead neutral card with Ok-ish stats. Sure, if played against a Dragon Priest / class, then it has some use, but it's bad enough that yuo will likely hardly ever see it IMO.
Actually, the emergence of certain techs suggest that some archetypes are candidates for TS power level or are already so.
You need a whole set of counters, and even then it is just related to matchup, favourable or unfavourable, influencing the meta (but not so much), but certainly not the playability.
Tech cards generally can't eliminate the archetype they target, just as carnivores in an ecosystem never outnumber herbivores. An equilibrium will be established with a certain amount of dragon-based decks and a certain, much smaller amount of Dragonslayers.
Did Golakka Crawler make decks running the pirate package extremally weak? I remember commenting in a Hearthpwn facebook thread prior to Un'Goro and one guy flamed me and called me an idiot, because I've said that Pirate Warrior wasn't going anywhere, so naturally I was an imbecile, because so many counters have been introduced.

If dragon priest is playable or not won't be related to that card.
I will crush you!
In the unlikely scenario Dragon Priest becomes Tier S and 40% of all games are against them, then sure it'll see some play
But besides that, it's not really worth teching in a card that can kill one non-essential minion in one deck. And the occasional Cobalt Scalebane .
Ya you should tech 2 in all your decks. Meta defining, duck fragons
No tech card ever made any archetype unplayable.

Pirate warrior was the strongest when nearly everyone were playinh crawler and ooze, so no.. almost no one will play the dragonslsyer..
Yeah, a toast!

I'm sure you know how it turned out, OP.
I've no clue what I'm doing...
If too much of this card, ppl will choose another deck, so ppl will cut this card, and then ppl will play drayon again. Then repeat the cycle.
so yeah it help you vs dragon but make your other matchup weaker. You cant tech vs every annoying stuff so do what you like lolz
