I wonder if there is a way to know the average rating of a card set ? When a card is released, we can give our instant feedback without knowing about the next meta, but just about the intrinsic value of the card (Meta defining / Very good / Playable / Bad / Dust it !)
I wonder this, because (it's only my opinion) I think that a lot of cards coming with the next expansion are just bad or at least don't bring anything new and just use some old mecanics which were already existing but not very used (right now I think about the last card released switching ATQ/HP of all minions). Even some new mechanics like the spellstones seems just meh for most of them. On the contrary, I really loved the last expension, with the addition of new heros and everything.
So I would be curious about how players feel "in average" about all expension by having a distribution of the rating for every cards in each set (just by doing a mathematical mean of the result of the poll for each card).
It would also be interesting to know how many cards have been mostly rated "meta defining" or "dust-it".
Does it even matter how the cards were rated initially? We know with the clarity of retrospect which cards ended up being played in good decks, and which ones sucked. Just counting viable epics and legendaries should say a lot about a strength of an expansion.
The info is all here on the site, but idk if it is worth gathering it all in a spreadsheet to find the number.
Even if we were to gather all the data, what would we actually get from that? Most of the poll results can in no way be taken objectively, more so since they were from before the cards were actually released and played.
Only thing it could tell us is how hearthpwn users felt about the cards when they were announced, thats about it. It would say absolutely nothing about how good or bad the expansions rly were in the end ;-)
I understand it could be an interesting information for you and it never hurts to ask, but i personally doesnt see a value in it and worth of the time spent on this. Thats my opinion ;-) That being said, i think u can do all this yourself, just go to each card's respective page and pull the poll data and compile em :)
As far as I know, Hearthpwn usually does one of these 'Community Compendiums' before each expansion after all the cards have been revealed. Maybe there'll be one made next week?
Hi everyone,

The site owners should be able to super easily pull that data with a couple queries, already rolled up and averaged..

Simple curiosity, I know that some rated good will end up dusted and vice-versa ! But I still find it interesting. I like numbers.
