I'm a fun of smart play, i love skill based decks I like to survive first part of the game, to draw big hand to have choice, and to make hard and smart choices, I love to know meta, and to play around opponents deck, and to outsmart my opponents
lets look at current meta Aggro/tempo: Tempo Rogue - no skill needed - just draw a prince Zoo Warlock - no skill needed - just go face Evolve Shaman - no skill needed - just draw evolve Aggro Token Druid - no skill needed - just get good start
OTK: Highlander Priest - a bit of skill is needed - just draw raza Secret Mage - no skill needed - just draw combo
Control: nothing playable
there is not a single spot for skill, the smartest choice (if you like to win) is to grab a luck based deck and cross fingers
So what happened to game i loved to play before? it is started with old gods - superpowerfull cards was added, first time it was not that bad - one or two mega cards in you opponents hand to play around, but with next expansion blizzard had to introduce something even more powerful in order to make new patch better, and then one more time, and again. So, now we have a huge amount of overpowered cards. And what happens when overpowered meets overpowered? Yes, wins that player who drew more overpowered card faster, what a fun.
RNG cards is another problem, but it was discussed many times.
What is a way to fix it? there are few ways to fix it: 1) to stop printing OP card - i'm sure blizzard not going to do that 2) to rise win conditions like to give each player more hp and bigger deck - this well make games last longer and blizzard never going to go this way 3) to find something better to play - this is the only thing i can do without blizzards assistance, but sadly there is no real competitors
When talking about the current meta you didn't mention ctrl demon lock, krulzakus warlock, jade druid, big druid, midrange Hunter, silence priest, big priest, murloc paladin, and the fringe handbuffadin/dead mans warrior. At this point in the season you are bound to see only smash-mouth aggro decks and broken tier 1 decks like quest mage and priest.
All aggro decks that run Kelseth run the risk of not getting him early (or at all) and having a sub-standard game (with the exception of the current zoolock list which i will admit is very strong and hard to beat even if they don't highroll Kelseth). I feel the current meta is among the most diverse we have ever had with one of the few issues being a shortage of ctrl decks but that will change with the coming rotation once we lose the highlander decks and machine gun dk priest.
I am agree either wild or standar is all about who draws is combo first and good cards..pretty boring..I am just playing for quests now and with kobolds looks that there will be even more RNG. I am not against rng but there is too much at the moment.
Guys its not that bad. Try using your own skills at deck building and not relying on hearthpwn to hold your hands for you...it might work wonders in how you see the game. You might even see new ways of looking at cards you've overlooked previously.
ctrl demon lock, krulzakus warlock, jade druid, big druid, silence priest, big priest, murloc paladin, dead mans warrior, all this is not top tire decks
midrange Hunter - only one i missed, but it is hard to say that you have to be very smart to win with it

Just because something isn't tier 1 doesn't mean it isn't played and btw ctrl demon lock=Handlock, jade druid is on the list, big priest=control priest. Let's also not forget that site uses data contributed by deck tracking programs which isn't indicative of the entire player population. If you aren't enjoying the game man quit.....i don't know what you are looking to get out of the people on this site with posts like this besides a handful of people commiserating with you.

another player claiming that tempo and agro decks are "braindead" because it doesn't take half an hour to play a round.
You can easy mess up with these decks as well... the game would completely alienate newer players if there were not decks that were easier to pick up. Most control and combo decks take a lot of practice.
as a newer player, I love tempo decks... playing against control is often really boring, they take forever to make the simplest plays as they really have to consider like 3 moves ahead. This is good and all, but some of us are trying to blast through as many games as possible.
a varied meta is a good meta. I am seriously not looking forward to a control only meta, the games will take way too long IMO.

If all of these deck are low skill, which most of them are not (notably razakus priest), then you can say the same thing about every deck in HS history.
This following part does not constitute my views, but I am going to bash most of the decks that can possibly be considered high skill just to prove my point above:
Freeze Mage: What’s so hard? Just freeze their board, alex them on 9, and just point spells face. They can’t even interact with you it’s so low skill to play
Patron warrior: Incredibly low skill you just draw your frothing, warsong commander, and patrons and you just auto win it’s so easy.
Handlock: WOW so much skill 8/8 turn 4 and then you taunt up and go face what’s so hard about that
Renolock: You draw reno. Congrats much skill
Miracle rogue: 12/12 edwin turn 3 so easy. Or just play gadgetzan and draw it’s too easy.
Control warrior: remove their threats then just play your own and jam face it’s so straightforward
I’m sure I missed a couple, but does this prove my point? Any deck in hearthstone can be trashed on. Also, there are plenty of counters. Golakka to combat tempo rogues, evolve shamans, and aggro Druids. Eater of secrets to counter exodia Mage (which you called secret Mage). I haven’t even talked about deck choices yet.
If you want any more systematic dismantling of your argument please let me know.
btw, wasn't having a go or being a dick, simply stating that if the meta was all control, it would get extremely boring IMO. Same would go for any archtype though.
The best thing to do is to stop assuming every deck you don't care for requires no skill. I can't tell you how many games I've won because my opponent was unable to properly read the board, anticipate future turns, or use their resources wisely. Those are skills that no net-deck will overcome consistently.
Also, the proper level of RNG in Hearthstone is debatable, but if there was very little RNG the game would be super boring as games would play out incredibly similarly, to an extent greater than they do even now. If that's your thing though, maybe try chess or checkers if you're looking for another game.
I was about to post a topic regarding the same. I'm pretty sure a lot of you feel the same. I'm leaving the game too. It's already uninstalled from my computer.
I love warcraft and HS, damn, I do, but playing this game has turned disgusting. Got to admit Un'Goro and Frozen Throne revived (mostly because of both expansions themes) the feeling that was left (again) from the awful Karazhan and Mean Streets meta, but it happened again: a meta that absolutely sucks.
And it will happen again with K&C. The meta will be "stable" a few weeks with a lot of ppl trying new decks and stuff, but it will end up in another aggro/op combo meta again, and again, and again with every HS expansion.
Thanks Blizz for the many hours of fun, but the game is not fun anymore. I have already spent a lot of money and it's not worth the headache. I'll still be close to the game by being aware of upcoming expansions and stuff, reading the new cards, but not playing at all. That's all folks, I'll move on.
I honestly think there's only one real problem with Hearthstone.
3 expansions per year is just too few. To me, the game would be more fun if we had content released more often.
I'm fine with the cost. I have no problem with $150/year as my expenditure for my hobby. I like that that amount doesnt buy me every card and I can still feel the progress of earning cards while also giving me the ability to play just about any deck that I want. Worst case scenario I have to wait 2-3 weeks to craft a legendary before I can try a deck. Big deal. Its a challenge to complete the set. I like that.
I like the meta. I mean.... just yesterday I had a game where the game-changing play came down to the very shrewd move of my opponent to pick Lorewalker Cho off of his Marin's treasure that gave the "Pick a Legendary, Summon 2 of it" card. It gave him the resources to ping me with his hero power. I had the resources to deal with 2 big beefy minions. I had the resources to outlast his burn in fatigue. And he won because he picked a 2-mana meme. How much fuckin fun is that? And I'm not being facetious. There is such an emphasis on winning card advantage that Lorewalker Cho was the right pick. As much as I hate playing against it, I absolutely love that Razakus Priest is so powerful. I'm blown away that this is our meta. They're doing an incredible job with card design.
I dont really care for Tavern Brawl. It's usually a one and done for me. But once every 5-6 weeks there's one that draws me in and I have a ton of fun with. I've got 50 or 60 wins in a few Tavern Brawls. Over 100 in one or two of them. Even the ones that I dont find super fun, like this week's feed the void, show some interesting creativity in game-design. Its worth a play or three just to rethink deck design based on something wacky. For something so experimental, I'm really happy with Tavern Brawl as a true casual mode.
But everyone goes fuckin stir crazy for the last month of every expansion. Its just too damn long. I'm not a huge fan of monthly minor card releases like Gwent but 4 months between cards is bonkers. I got a lil sick of the minor changes of adventures but at least it was only 3 months between releases then.
Tempo Rogue - no skill needed - just draw a prince
Yeah, it'a all about Prince right? But according my statistic i'v played prince less than a 50% of all game on Tempo Rogue. Just don't draw him. But my wr >68%. Sure it's all about prince.

Yep, game is garbo with RNG and looking much, much more random with Kobolds.
Get ready for this Exodia Mage, Raza Priest Combo Meta

Kobolds are almost as bad as goblins, they gotta die (⌐■_■)–︻╦╤─
