So as the title suggests I dont have any of the tier 1 decks, tempo rogue, jade druid, highlander priest and their big counterparts (for priest and druid), am I not allowed to climb past rank 6? I have been to legend a few times and been rank 5 every past month since rank rewards became a thing. These last 2 months tho it seems like impossible for me to get rank 5, every single thing that is possible to go wrong, goes horribly wrong. Every keleseth is played at turn 2 and how can you win without a tier 1 deck vs that? Thoughts of a frustrated player I guess but how can that be the case for so damn long? Any deck suggestions for laddering? Have tried control paladin, tempo mage, control mage, control warlock, aggro druid, hunter, exodia mage and highlander priest without velen and lyra cause I dont own them.
i have been playing ladder since june and im also stuck in rank 15 so i tried to climb in wild and i get rank 4 with a hunter midrange (sorry for my english)

Not interested in wild sorry... not like I have the time anyways its the 29th
I played some tempo mage and midrange hunter in this meta and theh are both good enough for rank 5 at least, tempo rogue without keleseth and even miracle rogue are good enough too.
You can make a good deck with a couple of rares and no epic\legendaries. To climb you need only one thing - consistency. When I hit legend for the first time I didn't use top tier deck, I just disenchanted a lot of stuff, got solid elemental-jade shaman and played him straight for about 20 hours from rank 10.
So when you want to climb with a cheap deck you should forget about fun for the sake of big rank. Get a deck, that win quickly and lose quickly - an aggro or midrange. Try hard to understand the strength of your deck and play it for a very long time. Best time to climb - last week of the month, cause all legend and high-rank players are already at their ranks.
Today we have strong aggro druid with only 1 legendary card - patches.
Zoo is strong also, you need some commons and 2 doomguards.
Hunter is fine too, but I recommend Death Knight Rexxar a lot. But, you know, a Highmane is a fine turn 6 too.
Mage... Put all the burn 2x, 2 counterspells, 2 mirror images, all the cards with secret synergy(not 4 mana 3\3 tho) and 2 manawyrms on top of it. Fast and furious!
Priest is eazy one too - get some high health minions from the standart set and put Inner Fire combo in the deck. You may need Potion of Madness for some fancy OTKs tho.
Rogue... costs pretty much now, you can't play without two 5-mana plants from ungoro.
Warrior is not fine.
Paladin is above expensive or bad, mostly.
Shaman need to combine 2 mechanics out of 3 in the deck: Jades, Evolve and Elementals. I prefer Jade + Elementals, cause you don't need legendaries most of the time. Evolve needs DK for sure.
Just choose your class and play a lot of games, that ' s it.

Thanks for your elaborate reply mate, although I have a few things to add:
I tried aggro druid, seems like I cannot win even versus troll decks. Either too slow or bad draws every single game I don't think it's a coincidence. Any list to suggest? About zoo warlock do you mean the keleseth list? Cause if I had keleseth I wouldn't be here right now :P Wanna try Hunter again but I don't have DK either lol
almost any highlander priest is good enough for legend, as long as you have raza, kazakus and anduin. Velen and lyra are pretty good cards, but not essential.
Its about the same with druid, as long as you play all the ramp and UI's you can go many different directions and still end up with a stronger deck than the average ladder deck. Im playing cthun druid right now, obv not the strongest deck, but still good enough.
If you want some variety, I think tempo/secrets mage is surprisingly strong against all the tier 1 decks, if you get a strong first couple of turns they almost never can catch up.
I do agree the ladder is getting harder and harder every month, rank 20 people already have stock net decks, and sometimes they know how to play (its really not that complicated to play half good). Im not really a fan of playing the "obvious" powerhouses like UI and anduin, but its probably worse to lose to a jade monkey or a condescending highlander pri-ck-est.
I thought that too about highlander priest mate, I used the list from tempo storm that ran no lyra and was like hmm instead of Velen that I dont have im gonna put Marin, what can go wrong? And its not that Marin is the worst card in the game but without the burst from Velen I have no reach, I have no board control and not enough dmg to kill them. I found that out the hard way and after playing a lot of games :/
I don't have a tier 1 deck either, but I have used a variety of decks to hit rank 5. This month I hit with an aggro priest, and last month I hit with a priest teched Hunter deck. It all depends on your matchups. Just keep trying, you can also find a deck list here on hearthpwn too. Don't worry about it, it will probably be pretty easy to hit rank 5 next month when everyone is experimenting.
Aggro Druid is more successful than Jade at Legend so you can definitely rank up with it, maybe you need a little practice with the deck or it simply doesn't suit the meta you happened to run into.

Why not? If you're looking to get that rank 5 chest easily every season, wild is the way to go. The decks and players are both weaker relative to their standard counterparts. I usually reach rank 5 there by just doing daily quests on the ladder and ~ two days of pushing a few hours at the end of season. I'm only occasionally using tier 1 decks as well. Mostly I'm just playing what I can build with my collection given my quests
If you're one of those people hating on wild because of Reno/DrBoom/Shredders/Giants/PW/Secret Pally, keep in mind that the meta is in general a pretty horrid place in general right now. Might as well bite the bullet and get it done with faster. It can't be any worse than "climbing is impossible without a tier 1 deck", could it?
No you cannot get past rank 6 without a Tier 1 deck. It's ABSOLUTELY against the rules. And it HAS to be net decked too! You can't have created your own version of it. ;)
If more than half the opponents in the meta you are playing in, are tempo rogue/zoo/aggro druid, you can use control warlock. I used my own teched version of it to hit legend. It does above average against jade as well. It does poorly against Razakus Priest though.
Frankly as long as you tech/cycle your decks according to your meta, anyone should manage to hit legend with enough games.
Zoolock is good for climbing at any rank, and you don't have to run Keleseth for it to be effective.
Murloc Pally is super strong, and it's a tier 1 deck I'm pretty sure (you didn't mention it with the other t1 decks, so not sure if it's a possibility and/or desire for you). Personally I feel like I always draw shitty when I play this deck (Bonemare in opener, Warleader/Rockpool with no other Murlocs, Tarim at the wrong time, etc), but I'm certain it's just me if it's considered t1, and when you do draw right it's unbelievably good that's for sure.
Aggro Druid is a really cheap and effective deck that's always good for climbing. This deck is so tilting for me though, since most losses will come from running out of gas with the opponent in striking distance. Very frustrating, but if you are gonna do a bunch of games it probably won't matter much (also might just be tilting for me).

I think I actually have a positive winrate against Rogue when they ShadowstepPrince Keleseth on turn 1 or 2 by using either Aggro Druid or Aggro Taunt druid. Just hit 5 today with Aggro Druid. I have a 77%/83% winrate against Rogue with Aggro/Aggro Taunt Druid, it is definitely my best match-up.

Aggro Druid should be enough for fast Rank 5.

What about zoo warlock? I hit legend with it last season at seem really strong atm.

You can cut Feeding Time for Soulfire and Forbidden ritual for Dire Wold Alpha.

Legend with : S65 Freeze Mage, S57 Maly Gonk Druid, S57 "Okay" Shaman, S53 Boom-zooka Hunter, S53 Maly Tog Druid, S52 Wild Tog Druid ft.Blingtron, S50 Quest Rogue, S49 Dead Man's Warrior, S41 Wild Clown Fiesta Druid, S41 Hadronox Jade Druid, S40 Wild OTK Dragon Druid, S35 SMOrc Shaman, S33 Jade Druid, S22 Control Priest, S19 Control Priest
OP : what are you talking about ?
Aggro druid is tier 1 and it prays on other tier 1 decks like rogue .

Aggro Druid works for me. Tempo rogue and zoo can’t deal with living mana. You get your 2/2s out there and buff em and it’s gg.
