It might be too early to conclude, but from what i've seen - cards are getting less raw power and more complexity/thinking packed into them. Combo oriented cards (garbage on their own), gradable cards, weapons for casters and god knows what more is there to come. Weapons may look simple, but i believe it will be harder to use it properly without giving it a thought or two than Shadowreaper Anduin, for example.
Maybe not the best example, but as a cornerstone of an expansion (DK card) it is suitable. Combined with Raza, it has enough power to negate any value/tempo/memes your other cards might provide. What it does exactly - turns all your other cards into fuel for your hero power and that's it. Do you really need to give it any thought at this point? Well, maybe. But most people don't really bother and that's understandable.
Having more thoughtful cards should really add a bit more life to the game and tame aggro a little bit. Maybe even a lot, if our thinking is rewarded that is.
What do you think about the game potentially changing it's course towards FUN? Will we have a change of pace at last? Or constructed will remain a crazy-synergestic-bullshit-powerhouse type of game until next rotation.
Too early to assume that. They have always released controversial powerhouses in just about every expansion. There will always be oppressive decks that will deny "fun" decks, at least if no new PVP game mode is introduced, or the ladder is somehow reworked, which doesn't seem to be one of the things we'll be getting this time around.
I'm down for more thinking. I'm already trying to figure out to make a Rin, The First Desciple deck lol. It's probably be about as good as my barnabus deck but even more fun. The last thing we need is more stuff like Bonemare that is just broken and hurts class identity and deck creation.

KFT also shifted the game more towards complex cards. It would make sense for the trend to continue.
