I'm F2P and dwelled on this decision too last season. I crafted him and have had good results. Lots of fun and multiple times I've killed opposing heroes with their own death knights from him which is just icing on the cake.
Honestly I'm kinda disappointed of shaku. 80% it's to slow and you get crap out of it. T6 in Tempo rogue is not bad for follow up to Bonemare. But mostly I play then 1-Drop & Vilespine Slayer. And after T8 it's just a bad lategame drop.
Cut him out of my list for something better.
On the other 20% it's an ok drop. Had very rare situation where I received something very very useful from it.
I enjoy my Shaku, the Collector very much. I have a burgle Rogue deck in wild which is just great fun and semi-competitive. If you spend a lot of time in wild I would definately recommend crafting him.
I've never personally seen Shaku be a deciding-factor in a game's outcome. He's usually just kind of "there", with the small bonus of random cards being rewarded to you. They could be paramount to your success...or they could be utter garbage taking up space. If you think you'll have fun playing with Shaku them by all means craft him...but he's just not that reliable. It's a hard sell to craft something so swingy/RNG-related if it's not essential to your deck, especially when you consider that other burgle cards are not Legendary tier.
Behold, foolish interlopers! I am commanding this mortal to spread the will of the Scourge throughout the interwebs, encouraging you to seek out me, Archlich Kel'Thuzad! Now coming to you as the tenth class of Hearthstone!
I am a finalist in this Class Creation Competition, so if you could give it a look I would be greatly appreciative <3
If your favorite class is Rogue and you play lots of Tempo Rogue or even Miracle then I'd say it's worth crafting. Rogue is my favorite class so I even crafted Xaril even though Shaku is arguably better. Even if Shaku doesn't always give you something good it makes your opponent worry that it'll give you too much value and often times will use a strong removal on it. Priests will pain it, I've seen Mages using a fireball on it because they don't have their frostbolt, Shamans devolves it etc. Also because Tempo Rogues 3 drops are mostly combo effects besides Captain like SI/Edwin/Scientist, Shaku is a good option on 3 without coin. Then for example you dropped Shaku on 3, you play Valanar or tar creeper on 4 you can generate a lot of value with it unless your opponent uses a removal spell.
Keep in mind that Shaku, the Collector will rotate from Standard very soon. If you play wild as well, it's a safe craft. Shaku is great!
If you play standard only, I would hold the dust for the new expansion. (Announcement will be done on Nov 3 and we will get more info).
I wanted to craft Auctionmaster Beardo just for fun since I like the card but I'm holding the dust for a new legendary.
But your are call the shots my dude!
It's not that soon. It wil be in the standard for the next 13-14 months. But i do think that card is not worth it. You should always focus on cards that have definite value and not potential value. Shaku can be good but it also can be a 3 mana 2/3 that can give you unplayable card (For example Howlfiend) that will take space in your hand.

13-14? It was in Gadgetzan, so it will rotate out when the first expansion next year comes out, so it will probably be in standard for not longer than maybe 6 months.

We don't know if they will do same rotation as they did with previous one where they rotated 3 expansions at the same time. MSoG came only 11 months ago and cards according to blizz should be in standard for 2 years. It's just my estimation but as we have no offical information right now we can speculate. Maybe they will remove one expansion as they add another or perhaps they will do it like last time. To be honest MSoG left such a bitter taste in my mouth that if the rotation happened tommorow i'd be okay with it. Terrible expansion.
Can't remember where I seen it before but Blizzard explicitly mentioned they won't remove 1 expansion when they add another, all 3 expansion/adventures from the previous year will be rotated out from standard during somewhere in April/spring expansion.
I got shaku as my first legendary in MSOG and it's awesome, not sure worth crafting or not if you don't play a lot of rogue, but definitely awesome if you do.
Thinking of crafting it but not sure if its worth spending all my hard-earned dust.

Are you planning to play a lot of tempo rogue?
The card addresses the value problem the deck has while sticking to the game plan. However it is not core to the strategy so can be excluded.
no it is not worth it, great if you got him from packs, but not in the "Crafting List"
He’s also great as a turn 6 set up for bonemare. He’s the only golden leg I’ve ever crafted and I love it! No RAGrets.

"We're gonna be rich!" Reno Jackson
Im not sure if he's worth it now if you only play standard but he was my 2nd legendary in MSO. I have to say i would have never crafted him.
But after playing with him i feel like it's an card that i never knew i wanted.

I also have Valeera now and will try it out with her in the deck to steal even more cards.

yeah innit bruv
I crafted him purely because he's actually a card I like regardless of it being good.
