I've had pirate quest so I headed straight into Wild Ranked because I like playing PW there. Running Sir Finley Mrrgglton, Ship's Cannon and also Cursed Blade to peel myself of for triggering Mortal Strike and stuff, so it is not that braindead deck as most people think. I am rank 5 or 4 I guess so I expexted a fair match. And so it was. I've had godlike curve against Razakus Priest and I managed to get him to 1hp with a sick Death's Bite x Frothing Berserker combo on turn 5. Turn 6 ... topdeck Reno Jackson ... well fine. I kept playing as I never concede if there is at least a little chance, but yeah I've lost.
But what's my point.
This Tyrande player kept spamming me like mad since that topdeck so I just sent him a friend request and wrote him this message: "gg mate, sick game, but why are you spamming?". And his answer: "bcs I fucking hate pirate go fuck yourself uninstall and sell your pc noob". I was like wow, that escallated quickly ...
Is this normal behavior against PW players? If so, there is no problem with PW players but with whole community...
Yes it normal. I despise that braindead deck more than anything and would never touch it. I would do the same if I met you with my Razakus Priest. You deserved it !
I don't know if it's normal or not with Pirate Warrior or other overpowered (or perceived to be overpowered) decks, but for example when I slapped Aggro Druid together for a friend to prove a point and they played it for a few games, she didn't have much if any trouble with people spamming or any other form of BM, even though she pulled off the turn 1 Flappy Bird in multiple games. Point being I think the Aggro and Jade Druid decks are pissing people off more right now (or were recently anyway) than Pirate Warrior is, and it seems like the average player doesn't mind if you're polite. Me and most of my friends say "Well played" and stuff like that at the end of basically every game so I think that helps encourage stuff.
There are always toxic players though, and yeah I imagine decks like Pirate Warrior or the top Druid decks, which people get sick of dealing with, tend to cause this more as there's a knee-jerk rage reaction in some people dealing with that stuff... but at the end of the day it's usually more just poor sportsmanship than anything else; if there's anything wrong with those decks then it's the fault of the developers, not the players. People will play good decks.
Sounds very silly though since you weren't even playing the conventional version. Not gonna lie the thread title made me very curious. xD
I don't know. I don't really talk like that when a Pirate Warrior adds me after I beat them. If they act like kids and start insulting me, I remove them and report them, otherwise, if they talk in any way about the game or anything, I will talk polite. If they decide to question like lines of play, I will explain them and also let them know their mistakes. I am also not a fan of kids spamming emotes, but that is actually generally something that I see from Pirate Warriors, not really from other decks, so I'm surprised.
I do use the Thank You emote at the end of a game against mostly any player that is 1) Using a deck I consider cancerous. 2) Spamming emotes all game. I like to Thank them for giving me a win, because they usually also tend to make mistakes.
And you were playing Ranked, so I don't see his problem. If you weren't spamming emotes all game, you were playing your deck and just wanted to get on with life, I have no idea why he acted that way. The most I ever do is present by apologies and condolences to my opponent when my opponent is forced to play a deck like that, because it must suck to forced to do it :( .
pirate warriors and razakus dk priest are the worst offenders by far. pirate warrior generally starts emoting on 1 and every time they have a decent play. been using a paladin deck to farm them, emote those little bitches back every chance i get.

Same thing that secret pally players, aggro shamans, jade druids all go through.
When you play a net deck that was op for along time, it leaves hard feels.
Think this is not normal, look at other sports, if a team beats up on lesser teams and your team, people start to dislike the team and it's fans by association. So to answer you that's life.
Why I cheer against Yankees, Man. United, Pittsburgh Penguins....lol.
Yes it normal. I despise that braindead deck more than anything and would never touch it. I would do the same if I met you with my Razakus Priest. You deserved it !
If this is not sarcasm, be so kind and tell me why should it be a braindead deck? And how do you know that when you've never touched it? I'm playing mostly control decks but when I'm fullfilling quest I usually want to do that ASAP and that's why I'm using Aggro decks for quests. In my opinion Aggro decks, I mean all of them have really similar trade/curve/resources managment strategy so why then only PW should be a braindead?
I once had someone on my friends list get snippy with me after we played my 80g friend-quest game where I used PW because I also had a pirate quest.
I literally gave this guy 80 gold, and he still felt the need to criticize my deck choice. Even after I told him why, he still told me I could have played a weaker pirate deck to give him a chance to win. In a game where winning literally didn't count for anything.

I mean I'll be honest: I emote constantly, but it's not toxic or spam, but actual reactions to what's going on. Occasionally I get a little sassy with a good ol' Warlock "Extraordinary" after my opponent gets something terrible off of Firelands Portal or something, but mostly I'm nice, and I figure that's not what we mean when we say spamming emotes right? xP

First of all it is a braindead deck, even more so "than most people think". You either tell yourself that it's not to make you feel better cos of playing it, or you have a different idea of braindead than most other people, but either way it's abnormally easy to play deck (pretty much brainless), with very few decisions that happen to be very obvious and easy if you have any form of experience with any card game before, ending the match before anything can actually happen in half your matches (the reason why PW has so high win rate).
You are allowed to play such deck and there are no rules against it (if anything I think Blizzard is pushing them to appeal to more people that don't know how to play yet wish to climb), but just as you are allowed to click face and win in 5-6 turns half your matches without making a single decision - people are allowed to use emotes. Just like that guy has to deal that people will play bot-like decks for the end of time, as long as they are viable, you should deal with the fact that people will use emotes on you and be toxic.
On top of it you didn't squelch him, but got irritated by it and added him to basically ask for flaming. What did you expect? Oh hey mate, good game, let me tell you the reason why I emoted: *explains why*. No? He will insult... no need even to be smart to figure that out.
Agreed that emotes are irritating tho, I wish there was auto-squelch option like in Gwent, absolutely no reason not to add such option, especially since so many people ask for it and since emotes are only used to BM and nothing else, ever (yes yes someone sometimes maybe says well played once a year cos he thinks so).
Anyways, you played bot-like deck, almost won on a damn turn 5, didn't squelch but instead added a guy to ask him why he emoted... Well played!
You three are in dire need some life experience. o_0
Games are supposed to be fun but more and more players are playing in an agitated state. Don't worry Original Poster. People are lashing out at other players but it's the game that's the problem.~
Did you emote at all to him during the match? If so, that could be why he was triggered.
I personally hate seeing PW, but I don't emote spam them if I pull a sweet win out, I just let them wallow in their own hatred.
The only time I will BM emote is if the other player initiated it because they face rush me down to below 10, but then I pull a grindy win out and eat all their remaining resources and stabilize. If they rage quit, I'll send the same emote (once) that they have been spamming me (usually it's greeting or thank you, and occasionally the endless wow). Otherwise, just let their loss be salt enough.
To answer your question, yes I think that's typical behavior towards PW players. They're more hating the game than the player though I think.

Occcasionally is okay. Like at the start of the game, and if someone gets bomb squad from Firelands portal. But there are people who spam emotes after every play. If people do that to me and i have a lethal in my hand i procced with spamming emotes untill rope is almost gone and than kill them. Feels really good. You should try it. :D

Agreed that emotes are irritating tho, I wish there was auto-squelch option like in Gwent, absolutely no reason not to add such option, especially since so many people ask for it and since emotes are only used to BM and nothing else, ever (yes yes someone sometimes maybe says well played once a year cos he thinks so, fuck that and add auto-squelch).

Okay, once again, I didn't say that it's a deck with any kind of advanced strategy or something. I just said that my homebrew wild version is not that braindead as PW netdecks for standard. Also I don't play Aggro decks at all, only for quests.
I didn't get irritated bcs of emotes, I just tried to politely tell him, that he is wasting our both time with 1 and a half minute of emoting each turn. If I did squelch him, nothing would change.
And last thing. The biggest part on winrate in HS is deck. Then it's all about your luck with draw. Decisions and tactics is just a little drop in ocean of HS RNG. Whether you like it or not, this is not MTG or any other really strategic tabletop cardgame.

I beg to differ, not that I am a pirate Warrior player, but when people say aggro decks are brain dead decks, they are not very good or inexperienced. I am really good with control and midrange, but everytime I give those brain dead decks a go, I get my butt handed to me over and over again.
Is this normal behavior against PW players? If so, there is no problem with PW players but with whole community...
Nice generalization man. Just because one person insulted you through the chat, that doesn't mean the entire community is like that. Please, think before asking a question like that, because the answer is very obvious: NO.

Opponent emotes to show he's pissed. You add him to say: "Why emote so much", and are then surprised he insulted you.
That's like going to a club, slap a guy in the face and be surprised he talks shit at you.
