A lot of people seem to constantly complain (me being no different), but why do you play it ? It's just a question, no bad feelings or hidden motives.
I'll start first: I'm addicted to this(not in a good way), and I need sort of an outlet, just to do something, like a little thing that I can ''grind'' and have somewhat of a progress in.
It is the only way of keeping in contact with a dear friend of mine. He doesn't has other social media stuff so it gets pretty hard to reach out to him, I would have dropped this game after the patron nerf if not for him.
I like the game, I like collecting and I like feeling smart when something just works, so that!
I also like to spend money into games, and HS is a great way to do that, at least it's preferable for me as is a game that I can keep playing for years, a little but every day and my collection is still there, i'd rather spend cash there than buy tons and tons of games like I was doing years ago.
I mainly like the flavour of the cards, the characters, the art ... I like building and playing wacky and fun decks, which is why I'm mostly playing with friends and keep my distance from Play-Mode as it seems you mainly face netdecks from rank 20 on nowadays.
It's great that Blizzard implemented that we can do daily quests and earn gold that way too, so I can have fun with the game and expand my collection at the same time. :)
I love strategy, deckbuilding games, really enjoy trying to figure them out, and find the game really interesting. I really do like playing hearthstone. It's a bit unfortunate because hearthstone has a way of luring me in to the game and making it hard for me to focus on life, and I think has an overall negative effect on my mood, but I find the game super intriguing, so I'm not really sure how to figure out how to play this game and get the benefits without the costs.
This is my issue though, not a problem with the game itself. Game itself is quite good.
I like that I am 40 and can still be playing against players of all ages. I played WoW, thought to become great you need to have fast reactions, but in this you need to use your brain more. So a 61 year old still can out play a youth at 15 and 21. Or be out played..lol.
Plus love you can play and meet people from all around the world.
Just a bad habit. Playing since beta. But can't say that I enjoy playing HS.
I just collect the cards. Just in case I will actually start enjoying playing it or the devs will make some real overhaul of the current system. And I like to watch HS streams, so simply playing the game helps me to get familiar with all the cards and decks and strategies out there.
I like opening packs tho. So that's a positive thing, I guess. (Never spent a penny on packs tho).
I play because there's a large community both online and IRL to discuss, share decklists and play the game with. I also love to watch the big tournaments and streams
If it was up to pure gameplay, I wouldn't be here. Most other cardgames have HS beat on that department :)
I just enjoy the game and i'm optimistic about its future.
I like hearthstone not only for the game play elements but the sound design and the visual style no matter how jaded*pun* you are you cant say hearthstone isn't a good looking and sounding game.
Its so easy to be cynical about anything with flaws.
Well, I like cards games and I hate my mtg local game store. So, I play hearthstone instead since Magic Online is garbage software. Magic Arena might change my mind if they do a good job and a good pricing, but I'm far too invested in hearthstone to put in the money for another card game. Depending on how blizzard handles the next standard rotation, I might change my mind.
I play Hearthstone because it has the potential to be everything a card game can offer. Sure in its current state its hit and miss. Either its completely unenjoyable, or you don't get fucked by RNG/Broken Cards and have fun.
It has so much potential if only the devs were not incompetent idiots.

When the weak court death, they find it.

I got Tirande for free and decided to try the game... I liked that daily quests were not hard to fulfill.
I am envoy from nowhere in nowhere. Nobody and nothing have sent me. And though it is impossible I exist. ©Trimutius

I like the game a lot and because of this I complain a lot when something is broken, like midrange shaman era.
wow and strategy game lover
also love the idea of being able to gain cards/exp like an rpg and get better over time that I can build on
Kobolds are almost as bad as goblins, they gotta die (⌐■_■)–︻╦╤─
To make fun things happen, and for that satisfying feeling of outplaying your opponent and actually being rewarded with a win.

Join me at Out of Cards!
Because clearing daily quests makes me feel like I'm doing something in my life. FeelsBadMan :gun:
It was super fun game for me, for about one year. Now it's sometimes fun.
Because it is a f2p, plug&play version of wow.
I know, i'm a psychopath...

Because it's a good game to casually play and fun to play against friends.
Also i really like my collection of cards and therefore play it.
I've always enjoyed card games, like MTG, and I enjoyed WoW for a number of years. Plus it's addictive. :)

It's really nice to see so many different reasons to play, yet so many similar ones, Game is fun. Thank you for answering, cheers and good luck ;)
