How about just chilling and not letting childish stuff tilt you. By getting so worked up about it you allow them to get exactly what they want by emoting you.
But when you're facing some knob gobbler at scrubby & noobish rank 10 and they are emoting you left & right with "well played" and all the other non-sense because they noobed out on RNG, nothing is more irritating..
There are people like myself that see this sort of ranting and purposely choose to undervalue your plight. You can squelch your opponent. Purposely keeping from squelching when emotes bothers you? You deserve to be annoyed if you can't handle your own issues on your own. This thread is so completely pointless. It's nice to know most of the community sits on my side in this, because you had to bring attention to your own useless sniveling pit and make an issue out of nothing. It's so nice to see people wasting digital space with purposeless threads like this one.
Man this is the most sulking stuff iv ever read in my life. How about you just put yourself in a boxed cushion room for the rest of your life you sook.
First, we can't have chat (not even a lobby FFS), now we have to get rid of emotes because of the snowflakes? Grow the fuck up. In Everquest we had open chat on the PvP server, yep, the person who just ganked you could send you a tell to gloat. You people would probably jump off a bridge now.
when winning against a druid emoting "you are past redemption" or "you incur my wrath" is quite sweet :D
also dk guldan's emotes are awesome.
I like emotes, if I am salty this game I squelch, dunno why blizzard doesn't introduce auto squelch for salty people but you can just squelch every game and that's it.
emotes are awesome btw juat salt inducing for some people.
And then some of us just say ''well played'' at the end of a match, regardless of outcome, as a form of courtesy towards the other player.
Based on the OP's pejorative description of those around rank 10 however, I would say manners and courtesy are not necessarily concepts he'd be well acquainted with.
You see this comment by Ubbens? It is clear that I am not referring to a game that goes for 25 minutes and at the end the end of the match we congratulate each other. Ubbes is the exact type of person I wish I could perma squelch, so when meeting up on ladder he would never be able to emote me sarcastically.
Actually, "Ubbens" hit the nail right on the head. He is correct 100%. If your opponent is annoying, feel free to squelch. If he says "greetings," and "well played," with no annoying spamming in between, he is a gentleman who is sincerely trying to make the game more enjoyable for fools like yourself.
As someone else said, there is plenty of real issues in the world. Don't be a crybaby because someone emotes got under your skin and you got tilted. Are you 12 dude? Cmon.
No, mindlessly emoting "well played" at the end of every match is not a courtesy. It's at best thoughtless and at worst condescending and sarcastic.

When I started playing this game, it was common practice to emote 'hello' at the beginning and 'well played' at the end (order didn't matter, winner or loser could go first). Then we get 70M players and this is the crap we deal with. Like I said before, grow up.

Most pointless thread ever . Is it to difficult to squelch the other guy ? I also get frustrated when someone spams emotes but dude removing them ? nope
It CAN be very annoying, no doubt. On same page. However, it can also be entertaining...... especially when the annoying peeps keep talking smack-I usually stay quiet until time to crush em then I have fun..... otherwise, I just keep saying "thanks" or just squelch em.
Just came here to react to the low rank player remark.
Be good at HS is not the only factor to go legend. The most important one is time.
If I take my example, I play only 4-5 game per day maximum to complete my quests. So even if would want to go high rank I couldn't. Anyway it doesn't interest because HS is not a competitive game :p. The true goal is to surprise your opponent with underused cards;)
I think most of the time on ladder people use them as BM, I found it very annoying, and it can push me toward tilt easily. But instead of getting rid of emotes I would like an auto emote option so I don't have to do it every game.
But if I recall correctly a year ago BB talk about it and said they don't want to restrain emote use, they actually want to encourage it

Actually, rightclick-squelch doesnt help. Im doing it every single game right after mulligan, yet pretty often your opponent isnt yet clickable after mulligan phase, but somehow he managed to greet me before i have a chance to get rid of this shit
Just a couple of hours ago, my opponent said "thanks" just because I didn't play around something unusual (arena). I ended up winning and saying thanks like 10 times in a row... that's why I love emotes and you can't take that away from me.
OP, if you watch sport, you will see how people greet each other regardless who won. This is called sport etiquette. People treat their opponents with respect.
If you are sure, that some of them only spam, then just squelch 'em and full stop.
Honestly there are far more serious things to be mad about. Crying over an emote is kinda childish.

Come visit my Card Emporium. Strange things, you will find inside...
Come take the test, if you're daring. Feel free to show me your results in a message.

Your poll is missing a third option. Please add:
Neither. I'm an asshat.

Looks like the ten millionth thread about being salty about emotes. Nothing to see here, move along

I normally spam emotes when i get lucky , i realise its not the luck that wins me the game but my opponent on tilt
To bad we can't squelch asshats from making condescending posts about an entire group of players of a lower rank.
I wanna glide down, over Mulholland
I wanna write her, name in the sky
I wanna free fall, out into nothin'
Gonna leave this, world for awhile

Keep cool and have fun.
I am part of the people who don't like emotes.
