I agree, Hearthstone should be more like a quick chess = if a move is done you get extra time if no your turn is over before hand. That would be balanced I think as there is little amount of cards you can play a turn and it will make the game more intense.
Meh, roping is kind of annoying but I don't think it happens often enough to be an issue. I will very often play HS while doing something else, cooking or reading something, so I'll rope but not to intentionally annoy my opponent.
Players would not be willing to forgo content so Blizz can staff a report button. In a game like WoW, they already have staff because of the need to police for exploits in a complex piece of software. HS has far less exploit potential and can be monitored on an as-needed basis with minimal staff.

Free to try and find a game, dealing cards for sorrow, cards for pain.
I can see this becoming nothing more than a weapon for saltmines to report out of spite. I agree with you that intentionally roping is cancerous, but people will overuse reporting out of anger. You even gave the perfect examples from league. Being a scrub or unintentionally feeding are not reportable in that game, but people report you for it. That should be enough to tell you why ot's a bad idea.
We need a report option. Just look at LoL for example, if you are being a piece of shit -> reported, if you are feeding -> reported, if you are playing like shit -> reported.
LoL is a team game, though. There, those poor, dim-witted, blobby so-and-so's are forced to tolerate each other's existence because they need each other, despite their urges to literally maim every other player in that cancer-ridden game. Riot needed to implant bans because the internet and the world are full of shit disguised as humans. Every team game needs the option to lynch the bigger-than-average shitstains.
HS does not have that. With the exception of the unfortunate brawls where 10% of the literate community needs to team up with the 90% of the thoughtless idiots, we are by ourselves, battling one enemy at a time. That is why Blizzard can get away with not giving a rat's ass about the many assholes in this game.
Not to say I completely disagree with you, though. I say roping is often a nuisance, but a legal nuisance (your turn lasts the same amount of time as theirs, if you want). Still, I think reports would be useful, like many have already said, for the salty blyats that add people out of spite. Double the ban if it is in Russian/German for the heck of it.
Start of Year: Provoke the failure of 3 expansions, force nerfs on otherwise balanced cards, bring deckbuilding to an all-time low and get rotated one year earlier for being such a threat to the game's health. - Genn and Baku's historical entry on the White Book of Shit Design, shortly before retiring unpunished
Maybe OP is a jade druid scum and the oponent roped him on purpose so he dosent get to screw more people with his broken deck... I too rope every jade druid /aggro druid/pirates until the nerf patch hits on.
The opponent was a Pirate Warrior, though. He would be a complete hypocrite if he thought he was "helping" the world by roping a druid, regardless of how stupid the druid deck was.

Who the fuck are you to tell someone how long he will play his turn. Because you lost, probably because you are a bad player, you want to report him, fucking cry babies...
Given that the amount of abuse you can give someone in game is minimal I'd give it a big no. If you get upset by some emotes and roping, you have bigger issues and may want to consider addressing those.
Now someone friend requesting and verbally abusing is another story. I don't put myself in that situation, but that doesn't give those people a free ride. Actions should be taken against them.
What a bunch of snowflakes. There should be a minion that increases rope time and more Emotes for BMing. The idea that you are getting so salty at someone for having bad manners that you need to punish them is ridiculous and leads to much worse thinking and consequences in real world politics. The only thing that should be reported is cheating and abusive chat. Keep living in your safe space bubble.
They should change it so that roping could hardly be a thing: as you said, after reaching rope three times in a row (or even just twice tbh) your turns should be shrinked no matter what.
But handling report on millions of players is impossible - and useless.
The problem with this thought is it actually punishes players who are ACTUALLY using this time to think. Think about ropecoa- I mean lifecoach. The guy is obviously not trying to troll or be an asshole when he ropes, but he ropes very often because he is using that time to think about his plays. Such an addition as mentioned would punish ropers, yes, but also punish players who like to take time to think through their plays and options. We can't punish ropers in a way that would punish intelligent, thoughtful thinkers.
Roping is annoying, but it's well within the rules of the game. Yes, there are those who do it to be annoying, but they are not violating rules in any way because they are given a set amount of time to finish their turn (just like you). Not saying I advocate it in any way, but you can't report someone who has not violated any rules.

Sometimes there are good reasons to rope.
This. Look at lifecoach's face during those first few turns. He is thinking HARD about his turns, what his opponents turns might be, how he'd react in each situation, what win condition is the best to go for... and much more. Unfortunately while troll roping exists and sucks, we can't do anything against it because it's within the rules, and whats more relevant is there's no way to separate the trolls from the lifecoaches of roping.
What we need more is the ability to b**tch slap aggro druids that play fledgegling on turn 1! >:(
You really hate that deck and that opener, don't you? :P
Two things make me as salty as kripp mate, watching anduins b*tch face emoting and that seeing annoying bird on turn one.So yeah i do hate it.Most of my defeats were because of that opener.
It's probably been covered but by getting salty you are allowing them to win whether they are victorious in the game or not. If it bothers you that much concede and move on. If it's ranked and you don't want to lose stars play casual... I concede matchups I have no interest in playing( priest vs Hunter for example) and my salt level tends to stay at the doctors recommended amount!!

Sorry dude, but it's not against the rules, so it is fine. ;)
FOLLOW THE RULES.

Why does Vicious Fledgling exist
Simple answer: Blizz decided to give players 1:15 time to think and perform their actions per turn. There is no reason to report someone for roping...
