Blizzard's logic of nerfing basic/classic cards because they don't want to see the same cards in every deck got me thinking... there are a lot of staples in a lot of classes, yet some cards haven't been touched yet. I've listed them and the nasty ways in which they are overpowered below. Do you think these cards will eventually fall to the silly and uninteresting ways in which Blizzard drops the nerf hammer?
Fireball - this is obvious. Every Mage deck ever runs this. It's 6 damage for 4 mana - talk about overpowered!
Animal Companion - this is in every Hunter deck ever. Every companion is op for the mana cost. A 4/4 taunt for 3 mana? Come on!
Northshire Cleric - in every Priest deck ever. A 1/3 draw engine for 1 mana - wow! Come to think of it, just about all the 1/3 minions for the various classes are in their decks. Voidwalker, Mana Wyrm... nerf them all!
Sap in every Rogue deck ever. I think. I dunno, I don't play Rogue. But a 2 mana remove anything card? You can remove threats for a turn, bounce your own stuff, draw even more cards in combo with Auctioneer... endless possibilities!
Doomguard in every Warlock deck ever. A 5/7 charge for 5 mana - with zero drawback if your hand if empty? Madness!
Truesilver Champion - in just about every Paladin deck ever. Now infinitely better than the Warrior's weapons - quick, nerf it!
*Disclaimer: I do hope people see the sarcasm here. I'm not really calling for nerfs. I felt the need to spell this out for individuals who don't understand sarcasm.

I think I'm very well-versed in sarcasm but I still should thank you for that part since, if you were being sarcastic, you're being really bad at it.
Animal Companion was cut a while back in Secret Hunter lists so yeah, there's that. Fireball was also cut from certain Gunther/Control Mage lists. And while I think both of these cards are highly powered, I'm obliged to think every class needs a bunch of great basic cards to keep things interesting. Also, I think I already mentioned this [that was me being sarcastic], but you really suck at making sarcastic comments.
But while we're on the topic, I'm surprised that when it comes to Priest nerfs, everyone is quick to jump on Northshire Cleric being worthy of nerfing (even though almost every class has a 1-mana 1/3 class minion at this point, and rightly they should), but no one mentions Power Word: Shield, the highest value card draw spell in the game. No other single card has a 1:1 mana to card draw ratio.

Life before death. Strength before weakness. Journey before destination.
I know Fireball is up there on the "too nerf" list, Alexstraza + 2xFireball and an Icebolt is always going to be problematic and the card is clearly either under costed or over statted - if they went after Hex, they can go after Fireball.

Not correct on Northshire Cleric. He is not in Big Priest! Doomguard isn't in the current control Warlock decks either.
Flame Tongue Totem and Bloodlust however are problematic cards when you look at basic card list imo.
Bloodlust is fine, it's only good right now because there are so many powerful token generating effects in standard. It was hardly ever played til recently.
"two murlocs" is different than "two cards." For starters, you're required to run murlocs and thus murloc synergy (PWS can be run in any and all Priest decks). Secondly, murlocs aren't currently strong in Shaman, so the card's strength is limited to the meta. PWS will always be a relevant card, as cheap and high value card draw isn't something that goes in and out of fashion with the meta.
Pyroblast has never been an issue until Un'goro, really. And that's just because the rotation left mage without a whole lot of cards to play. Pyroblast is totally balanced for 10 mana.
I also don't see much of a problem with Blizzard. I would think Frost Nova is worse for the game than Blizzard.
Honestly, if you want to make mage a more dynamic class that relies on new cards instead of Classics, you need to do something with Alexstrasza. Once mage doesn't have "Deal 15 damage to the enemy hero" in their pocket, they have to find their 30 damage elsewhere.
None of those cards should be nerfed. Innervate and Winaxe have been the best spell and weapon in the game since launch by a tragically wide margin which is wrong for a basic set which never rotates. Not one of the cards you posted share that singular qualifier. Nerfing any of them would likely kill the game. Also Doomguard and Sap next to fireball? Jesus dude...
Jesus, I figured putting the Disclaimer would eliminate most of the "none of these cards should be nerfed!" comments... guess people can't/don't read very well. Pretty sad that ONE person got the point of my thread.
The rest of you.... SMH.

Screw nerfs, just rotate the entire core set.
That's what the standard format needs and it is what the wild format needs.
Appreciate the sarcasm and you raise a very good point, a ton of cards are staple.

Doomguard, Truesilver Champion, Sap (seriously?), and Northshire Cleric are just fine.

Doomguard's not a basic card.
I understand this is sarcasm but Sap doesn't let you bounce your own stuff.
Its fangs are in your flesh before its hiss leaves your ears.
Golden Heroes: Druid -> Rogue -> Shaman -> Hunter -> Warlock
Instead of nerfs to single cards, the game needs:
1. Classes/decks to be less rock paper scissors
2. Random effects to be less game-deciding
none?
I dont agree with you when you say these cards are in every deck. Cleric isn't, Sap either or trueblade. these cards arent OP, leave them be.
Ice Fishing has a 1:1 mana to card draw ratio.
Checkmate.

Okay then...Forge of Souls. Every warrior deck ever has had at least 2 weapons, probably more.
