I finally make a good deck after hours of trying. I go on a winning spree, crushing opponent after opponent in a flawless streak, climbing up two or three levels. For once, ONCE, in my pathetic existence, i feel like I can make something of myself, that i'm not worthless, that I won't end my life someday hanging from a noose in my mother's basement...
Then I lose.
And again.
And again.
AND AGAIN.
Over and over, humiliation after humiliation, until i'm right back where I started.
This happens EVERY TIME I play this fucking game. No salt, no exaggeration - EVERY TIME, my games follow this pattern. HOW DOES THIS KEEP HAPPEENING?! Right when I start to get a little hopeful, I immediately go into a losing nosedive, not winning even one match in between to spare myself some amount of humiliation and regain some vague iota of self worth.
I'm not even exagerating. I want to know, I legitimately want to know - how the fuck does this exact scenario keep happening? It's happened practically every long hearthstone session since when I started all the way back in GVG. Why do I always win, then ALWAYS fail? Please, I just want someone to answer me, I just want someone to tell me that I'm not going insane, that this happens to other people too!
But no. Nobody on this site cares. They'll just call me salty and whiny yet again, tell me not to take it serious - except gaming is literally my life, and I HAVE to take it seriously, but this fucking game never lets me hold onto whatever mote of happiness I get.
TL,DR: Fuck you, cunt. Go up and read the full post you lazy bastard.
I'm still not convinced this game doesn't in some way punish win streaks (like weighting certain cards based on mana cost so you're less likely to draw them). Would explain why it's easier to climb ranks, especially low ranks, with zooish type decks that have such a low mana curve. I have the same problem when I get win streaks. I could also be 100% paranoid too but I feel you man, it is soooooo disheartening to think you're doing well, especially with a homemade deck, and then you just get draw trolled into oblivion.
Don't take this game too seriously dude play for fun, if you want a hardcore comp. game I would play Gwent and Magic the Gathering. Remember to take breaks so you don't get burnt out from tilting. Gaming shouldn't be your life. The first step you can make is going out to local gaming facilities and make friends who play games in common with you. If you don't have any of those in your area or are stuck to Hearthstone, I would look up Fireside Gatherings in your area and just chill there.

This is why you're supposed to stop playing when you get tilted. Losing streaks are self-reinforcing; part of succeeding at any competition is believing you can win, and losing continuously can shake that belief. If you can't take a break from the game to disrupt a losing streak, try just switching up decks. Even better, flip over to Wild and play a few rounds there with a meme deck without messing up your Standard ladder position.
Either that, or practice losing dispassionately so that you can more accurately assess the mistakes in your play.
I feel the exact same and can relate 100% to your plight. Please don't feel ashamed or embarrassed or anything of that nature. Keep in mind that this game is an extremely high RNG based game. Yes there is skill involved but most of the time you are just getting fucked by the guy who top decks a flappy bird and an innervate and you can't do anything about it no matter how much skill you have.
I was legit laughing out lout while reading your post, not because it was "whining" but because I feel the exact same some days with this game.
Please add my battletag and maybe I can help you out with some "anger management decks" I've created to help me in such times of rage,
If you say gaming is your life, I would suggest you invest more into figuring out what's going wrong, and if this phenomena actually exists.
Commit yourself to using statistics and documenting your process. Note what decks you are using, facing, at what ranks and winratio. This could in the long term either dismiss or confirm what you experience and serve as a guide on how you can adjust to it, perhaps minimizing its impact both on your performance and on a psychological level.

I don't think this is the problem.
Gaming is literally my life
For once, ONCE, in my pathetic existence, i feel like I can make something of myself...
Here's some simple advice. Nothing about gaming is life or death serious. Remember, you're playing a game and games should be fun first and foremost. If you aren't having fun with a game then try something else. You have to shrug off the bad times otherwise you'll get yourself into a mindset that is destructive. I've been playing games for most of my adult life and I find that the less I stress about them the more success I have at them. Hopefully you're able to find some balance in your gaming life so that you enjoy the time spent, rather than waste your free time stressing out.
If this thread is not a troll, then I truly do feel sorry for you. This game can be frustrating as hell, especially when you just want to be good enough to climb. My advice is to get a coach. There is a guy on Gamer Sensei called Tsukaime. He is an excellent coach and inexpensive. Stop wasting money on packs and have one or two lessons with him each week for an hour. You will improve in no time.
Man , chill out ! You are taking the thing so ser . If what you said is totally honest then i recommend you stop playing hearthstone for a little while and play another game instead . But if you're really chained to the game and can't leave it , then try to play some more fun decks , RNG oriented decks maybe ... You can even play them in casual mode if you wanna avoid the actual bloody meta , just take it easy if you lose . it's the whole concept of the game ! Sometimes you get lucky and you win, and sometimes you don't get enough luck and you lose , with of course some skill involved ... So be positive , It's all just a game after all !!
No one outside Blizzard knows their matchmaking system but I've noticed this happening too. I've had days where I coast through the ranks fast, no one ropes, no one BM's and the whole experience is stress free. Then I get days where I can't do shit right and I'm dominated every game with all the roping and BMing that goes with it.
Possibly it is that we are regrouped from time to time into a different MMR pool and the queuing system prioritizes matching you with players within that group. Then after say 10 games or next day you're regrouped again, this would explain the streaks and allows everyone to experience 'good times' once in a while.
Not saying this is how it's done, none of us know it's done. My observations are based from playing the game on ladder for 3 years.

If gaming is your life, then you have to be good at it. Otherwise, it's not your life and you should be doing something else.

Both Reno and Aggro are cancer!
if you are serious you should know what decks work and what decks don't .
Simply put , if you want to climb to rank 5 or higher , you should probably look into the meta , and change your decks accordingly . It takes skills.
There're only 2% player that can reach rank 5 or higher . They don't play for Fun , they play to beat people , and take rewards , that's their Fun .
Are you sure this isn't salt?
