TLDR: Is the MMR of casual broken or did it get reset?
Hey guys,
For my Quest I always go casual mode and play some wacky decks, that just serve the purpuse of completing those. But since the new expansion (or maybe the patch?) I get queued up vs people with just basic cards and little to no expansion cards. Also it feels like I can play what I want and how i want,(like not attacking for several turns to complete the quest) and still win!
I got the same. I am at rank 12 in standard and rank 9 in wild. But when I go unranked I am always facing players that barely have any cards. For some reason the mmr almost always matches me up with obviously new players. I'ts impossible to have proper matches this way...
Well for me I stopped playing Casual, because I feel so bad playing against new Players, while I sit at Rank 3+... I hope Blizzard does something about this cause I liked testing my new Decks in casual too. Now thats impossible, because I win even if I missplay on purpose.
As far as we know, the MMR in casual is calculated by your wins and losses in casual. If you lose often in casual because you play fun decks against tier 1 and 2 decks, you will eventually get matched against players with the same win/loss ratio. Probably some reasonable good players with small collections.
Solution: Win more and you get out of their MMR region.

There is no ranked matchmaking in casual... that's what casual means... I would have thought that was obvious? Why on earth did you think there would be?!
Recently got some weird matchmaking in wild. Got matched against 4 different opponents 4 ranks above my wild rank in row. The rank of the opponents just happened to be my rank in standard. Not sure if it was a bug or just no-one my rank queuing.
I think it might be the case that not enough people are playing casual to find "worthy opponents" for everyone. I noticed this "bug" around the same time the rank 5/10/15 floors were implemented. People might have just migrated to ladder for their questing needs.

If my opponent is playing basic cards I concede. No fun in slaughtering New players .

Edit: Oops, Thread is already older...

There is! In casual you get a personal MMR that advances with you collection and win/loss ratio!
There is a MMR thats for sure. I get the 30 wins every day and at the end of the month i face the same 30 guys again and again.
I am doing casual for my quests too, but most of my opponents have the legend card back and ladder decks, therefore the casual MMR is working for me.
