There are some unsaid rules to optimise your experience in HS, like don't craft anything before 2 weeks of expansion, many people don't know that until they ask. I am confused regarding my plan for my use of gold, so I asked, this is not Reddit where there is a single thread to ask all new/basic questions like this, here you have to make a thread to ask even a small question.
For non-whales, the typical amount of packs to aim for is 60. That nets you most of the commons and about half of the rares and typically gets you about 2 legendaries. To be more exact, you aim for 50 packs then trigger the next legendary if you didn't just recently receive one. After that point, a lot of your packs will be '40 dust' packs which isn't as worthwhile as waiting for the next expansion (for comparison, a pack of 4 commons+1 rare you don't have is worth 260 dust).
So WHEN do you need to start saving for that 60? I found if you do the bare mimium (cycle quests and complete 50+ gold quests and..that's it for playing) you can get to 6000 gold if you start saving a month after the last expansion. That would be September 10th. So if you barely play the game at all, you can do whatever you want with your gold before the 10th. But really all you are just picking up at this point is dust from here to get a legendary you probably don't really care for (if you did you could've just crafted it).
Ok stop babbling what's the answer? Assuming you have most of hte commons and rares, you honestly don't have much reason to pull anymore. It's more worthwhile to just craft the legendary you want rather than gamble on another one. You might as well just hold the cash now so you can gorge on the next expansion.
I'm going to continue opening packs until the end of the month. If I had opened a ton of packs at expansion release, I might have stopped earlier, but I only opened 33.

Just opened my 7th legendary from KFT and I'm sitting on 10k dust.
My KFT legendaries are: Shaman DK, Paladin DK, Druid DK, Lich King, Arfus, Blood Queen Lana'thel, and Prince 4.
I am 99% sure that I won't be pre purchasing the next expansion as I pre purchased this one.
Should I try to hit my pity timer again? Or start saving for the next one?
I start saving immediately; that will give you over 100-120 packs to open for the next one.
I'm at around 800 gold already. Don't have all the legendaries, but I'll dust the ones I don't like and make some fun and/or useful decks.

Start saving now if your not going to pre purchase the next expansion. I have a feeling its going to be a good one.
If you are in your first year of playing please read this post.
Dust does not burn a hole in the jar. Be careful what you craft, especially before and right after a rotation.

One does not simply walk into Mordor,
unless they want to be the best they can be.
