Hey guys, I wonder if you found a decent Hunter deck for KFT. I've tried it all (quest, secret, agro, midrange, tempo deathrattle, n'zoth, dk, controlish, and now I wanna try out a big ez hunter but I have to craft abominable bowman) but none works as expected. The best one so far is N'zoth DK deck and managed to climb up to 11 3 stars only. Lemme now if u have anny other deck that work or deck ideas. I'd be glad.
I crafted Rexxar DK 2 day ago and im pretty glad with it, i use a deathrattle,n zoth. egg, build. It pretty descent, Im at work for now so i cant post my decklist but its more a control-ish hunter than usual i would say.
i can send you the list tonight if you still want it . Im at rank 15 for now, still climbing, but i rather play fun deck and try stuff than HARDCORE ranking. Still , i think Rexxar will have a place in this meta.
My best result this season so far is rank 10 with aggressive/midrange deck (cats, hyenas, fledglings, bearsharks) with DK as a fallback if blitzkrieg is failed.
adding the DK to the already existing midrange beast deck from un'goro, is working quite well. of course it's not tier1 but definitely playable. I was managing a decent winrate with it on rank 5-4 yesterday.
Secret aggro with Leeroy Jenkins at the top of your curve would be my best bet for ladder. In terms of fun I find some sort of deathrattle-shenanigans in wild to be a good pick :-)
I'd love to play control hunter but we still need a viable way to completely wipe the board like Twisting nether. Maybe a high cost card that adds 'poisonous' to all beasts so you could combo with unleash the hounds? Idk just a thought.
I'm at rank 3 and climbing fast with Midrange Hunter. Started playing hunter at rank 9. It has a great match up VS druid and priest which has been the majority of my games.
A reno build is probably doable in wild, but it's like any reno build - singleton, and thus swingy. I hate Reno because it kind of shafted options for non-singleton control decks. I'm finding that the class, in wild, lacks good tools to deal with midrange-y threats - I'm having to run explosive shots, for heck's sake. Hunter's mark is the only effective big removal the class has - deadly shot is just laughable in most games.
90% of control hunter decks listed on this site are just midrange - just jamming a n'zoth into a midrange list does not make it control.
Aaand hearthpwn won't let me post again. Stupid site.
My experience with reno hunters in wild when I'm doing my shaman quests is that they just die even if they drop reno, because they're horrible at clearing the board.
I don't have the DK form, but I believe people are using it the wrong way. They're trying to do some control-ish build that incorporates removal and tries to use mechanics other classes can plain do better that Hunter ever could beacause of their lack of draw.
IMO, DK hunter is pretty strong, but it should be used as Hunter has always been used. You play on curve, drop annoying threats very hard to remove due to their deathrattles and try to finish off your opponent before you run out of steam. If you are running out of steam and your Hero Power is not going to be good enough to finish off your opponent, you pop up your DK form and all of sudden you have infinite steam to keep it up; but your main win condition is still being aggressive.

Would probably end up like Acidmaw - never seeing play. Maaaybe if it was cheaper than 7, but acidmaw is close enough. A big boardwipe - even if it's just something like 5 damage to all, it'll probably work - and a second good ST removal, because deadly is just abysmal in most situations, would probably do me. DKRexxar is very good at filling a lot of gaps in the deck, though.
I feel you but back then there were no other control cards to back it up. DK hunter is so broken I feel it only needs a very small push to become viable. I do agree about the single target removal; one that targets minions only could be called for. Maybe something firelands portally with a "summon beast" attached? ;)

I don't have the hunter DK, but an issue with using the death knight that way is that you lose your two damage to face hero power, which is extremely useful in picking off weak opponents. The hunter death knight is a super strong card, but if you play it in an aggro deck, you're spending it on a 6 mana consecrate+iron hide (neither card is that useful in aggro), then spending another two mana before the hero power even makes an effect in your hand, and then it takes another turn to get an effect on the board. If you play aggressively, this card will be either a dead card in your hand, or a useless card that actively prevents you from finishing off your opponent because it destroys that first hero power. In a control build, this card is really strong, because the more times you can activate this hero power, the more super good card draw you have. However, hunter itself is also really weak with a control build, leading to issues, and other control decks naturally have ways of dealing with zombeasts.
Though, hmm... Now that I'm thinking of it, this hero power costs a whole lot of mana to play. If you can consistently draw an 8 mana beast from this, then maybe having an expensive deck is a bad thing for tempo purposes. I wonder if there's a build that can have a lot of cheap taunters in it to protect expensive zombeasts, with the plan being, survive until rexxar, use rexxar to recover, get a bunch of high attack zombeasts, use your taunts to protect them, charging fledgling for the win?
Guys, those are the decks I've built so far with hunter, and I got a bunch of more ideas. But those are the most interesting and I am still working at Quest bcs I need prince keleseth.
*At Jungle Hunter the last 3 cards of the deck are Medivh COTW and Nzoth

Hunter is the underdog of this expansion. I wouldn't be crafting a deck for Rexxar DK unless you can afford to dump your dust into a meme deck.

I'm playing a reno, dk, zoth hunter in wild and hit 9 easily and still climbing.
Its not the greatest, but it's fun.

Pro tip: Highmane > Bonemare is good
I tried having fun once. It was awful.

I've been playing a midrange n'zoth hunter with Deathstalker. It's not gonna get you to legend in 5 minutes but it's a solid deck for what it is.
