Having a blast so far, feels as if aggro decks are nearly extinct. you still encounter them occasionally, but with so many control variants that just shit on aggro, they are scarce. Imo this is good, control is far more fun and makes for more interesting games.
Elemental mage is deff my favorite for standard. You can control during early game, draw out your cards and eventually make sick comebacks in the late game with frost lich jaina and other tools.
and for wild I'm on crazy winning sprees with deathrattle hunter. lot's of control decks eventually run out of tools to clear your boards, you have tons of ways to swarm the board with ease and it finally feels as if hunter can play control-ish and not run out of cards in like 6 turns.
Overall I love the new cards, and it seems a premature meta is settling pretty quickly in standard with decks that are genuinely entertaining to play against
In wild there are crazy things going on such as mill rogue making a comeback, and for some reason tons of people trying quest mage.
meta is too slow....i only really play this game while taking shits at work...now i can't do that because its 20+ minute games and the boss thinks i'm constipated....fix it blizzard!
It's just a name. I would say that the ideal game for me ends between turns 8 and 15, with an average of about turn 11. Once they start to consistently go beyond that I find it to be too much of a time commitment. Arena is a bit better because your deck changes every so often and there is more deck and card diversity.
The first two weeks of an expansion are always a ton of fun for me. You can try out new ideas and not face especially refined decks yet. It makes for surprising games, something I like.
I won't be super happy if it becomes an all control, all the time meta, but I doubt that will happen. Agro finds a way! Even if it has a few no-win matchups to deal with. It can typically find a way to target one of the popular control decks and make itself relevant.
I think this expansion is a bit on the weak side, a few great cards. The new hero cards are far better than the quest cards, so that is a plus. But I think the set lacks the depth that UnGoro had so there are less new archetypes to try out. Or at least less that have jumped out at me.
I had some bad luck on packs so I'm a little limited on my legendaries thus far. Also, this isn't really a "meta" yet. Unless you consider "lots of unrefined deck experiments" to be a meta environment. I don't.

So far I've only experienced arena since I'm testing out the idea of using my gold for arena runs rather than pack openings.
And ..wow arena is IN #()$(#SANE. The new cards are flat out broken and many of them cause other cards to become broken. The result is a game balanced around brokenness, whicih I'm not against.
Helps that folks are going greedy. I've had so many games wehre I've been just hoping to hold out until turn 6 and would reach turn 6 without even losing tempo fully, nevermind stabilizing.

What kind of list do you run? I keep playing with mine but I can't seem to win more then 2-3 games in a row without subsequently losing 2-3 in a row. It does really well against priest and control paladin but warlock shits all over it as does N'Zoth Warrior. Been thinking about Running an aggro druid deck or something just to get out of the lower ranks so teching actually means something
The meta was tarnished by Gadgetzan, and all the innovative and skill-rich decks that are being pushed into the meta, I feel, will always be flushed out by the wildly powerful decks Gadgetzan brought into the mix (namely Jade Druid and Pirate Warrior). So as long as Gadgetzan remains in standard, I feel that the meta will always be entirely matchup dependent, which speaks nothing but poor health for the general state of constructed Hearthstone. We must wait until the next few standard years, it seems.
On the bright side, KotFT did not bring to fruition any notably skill-less decks at the level Gadgetzan did, so hopefully, Hearthstone will turn to a healthy future soon enough.
to be fair, i dont think hearthstone ever was a game or will ever be a game that is mostly about skill.
- Hunter can play slow deck (not control just "slower" deck)
- Hero card is awesome
Cons :
- BrokeBack Druid
- Most of deck currently is control so it will expensive (im not sure it good or bad for game)
- Opposite with hero card most of class minions legendary are pretty bad, only Sindragosa and Bolvar have some potential but i dont think those card will see play when meta settled
Despite the huge amount of Druid on the ladder right now i'm having a lot fun with my Pirate Rogue that I hit Legend on the second day of the expansion, Shadowblade and Runeforge Haunter really surprised me they are very good cards. Aggro is not dead guys :)
I love seeing posts like this because as a control player I am loving not only the diversity of the format with control viable for once, but also seeing the evolution of aggro not as an archetype necessarily but making use of the new weapons they got to carve out a space for themselves. Great format lots of viable decks good job Blizzard.

Let me explain something to you before you invest more time into Hearthstone and please try to comprehend this.
Hearthstone is an RNG based game and will never be about skill. Once you are able to comprehend this, your mind will be at ease and you will be able to stop posting salty comments on the internet.
Personally, I despise aggro decks and feel like they lack any form of skill necessary to win the game since it's basically just play a minion or weapon and hit face for five turns until the game is over, which really ruins the overall enjoyment of this game. I love this new meta and I sincerely hope that Blizzard continues to support this kind of meta because control decks make for long and interesting games full of thoughtful and skillful decision making.
Saying aggro lacks any form of skill only shows your own lack of skill.
Aggro really doesn't require any strategy at all. You maybe have to think about one or two turns but it's essentially hit the face and hope they can't recover. I play card games for the strategy involved in them.. so naturally I hate aggro decks. It's just face spam and the only varying factor is who draws better in the first 4 turns. I agree with the guy saying it takes no skill - give a bad player an aggro deck and they will win due to it's simplicity.
The only issue I'm having right now is everyone complaining about jade druid. It's like people haven't been paying attention since Gadgetzan. It starts strong because people get super greedy at first (Especially now with all of the slow DK decks). It's gonna lose power and fall off but instead of just playing their game people just want the deck nerfed because their way is somehow superior and more worthy of play.
And be for someone says "omg noob jade druid player doesn't want his deck nerfed" I'm playing Elemental Mage and Hadronox Druid which both would get roflstomped by any jade druid deck.
Jade druid is now a lot stronger due to taunts received now. If before jade druid was not a big issue because every aggro deck was able to rape him now is not true due to new taunts and 1 mana armor spell (received in un'goro).
If only there was a card the destroyed 1 cost spells...OH WAIT! There is!!! I play Taunt Druid (along with elemental mage) and Aggro classes have no issue getting through those at all, so really it seems to me people just don't want to tech against a deck that they apparently face and lose to enough to cause so much salt and they'd rather the deck just not exist.

Card games have little to no skill involved to begin with

yea, and that card fucking sucks! thanks!
A card the fucks with your opponent's deck on such a massive scale shouldn't have good stats

Why u hav to be mad? is only card gaem.

speed, momentum, violence
Games take too long. I play one or two constructed games and then I get bored. Arena is fun though.
You are not prepared!
Meta is terrible for me atm.
Every match takes up to 20 minutes and it's 80% priest which is stupid OP.

pretty expensive meta i say

One does not simply walk into Mordor,
unless they want to be the best they can be.
Pros;
- Slower meta
- More diversity (warlock comeback is proof)
- Aggro seems less popular right now
- Hunter can play slow deck (not control just "slower" deck)
- Hero card is awesome

Best meta ever. And i have played since Curse of Naxxramas. A LOT OF DIFFERENT DECKS. I play wild ofc.
I rarely see any aggro decks or face. Only pirate warrior sometimes. But they are few.
