In my experience, Zoo warlock becomes boring very fast. If you want to grind it's perfect, but I don't think it makes you improve that much as a player; it's very straightforward and very reliant on luck\draws.
I disagree with that. Zoo is a board control deck that utilizes non-specific synergy between minions to build and keep a powerful board. The very low curve eliminates the luck of the draw and there are no specific combos that are needed to win with it. It teaches you the importance of keeping your minions alive, when to go for the face and generally how to manage your resources; do I play a 4 drop, or a 3 and a 2 on turn 5? I have 15 health on turn 8, is it OK to life tap against a Druid? You'll get a much better sense of all of these things playing Zoo than most other decks IMO. It's relatively easy to play (not exactly easy, though, to play well) and craft, too, so I don't see many other viable options for newer players. Mage can also work but I think you learn less about the game that way and it won't give you the transferable skills to up your arena game, either.
I still suggest sticking with a Mage until you can get the cards to make a passable Zoo deck, though, since the basic set is way better than any of the other classes and getting good value out of the hero power is also an important skill to learn.
I completely agree. People tend to slam zoo because they'll get finished off by topdeck doomguard or soulfire. However every deck can topdeck lethal or one card to swing the tempo back in their favor, and like Kanped said, to play zoo well you need to plan for the turn ahead based on what you have, know when to tap, and know and play several turns ahead to the specific deck type and hero you are facing.
You can autopilot zoo at the highest ranks but when you start to get to 14, 13, then you will be punished for careless play, hard.

I think this is the deck you should be trying to make;
Many people will disagree with the build but it has proven to be very effective and moreover, I believe will teach you more good habits than other builds, especially as you learn how to effectively use the Hellfire, which most other Zoo decks do not run.
I have all but those. I can get the egg from Nax, but the others will take a little while. Any good basic or commons subs from my list in the original post?
I think you get both the egg and creeper from the first wing of Naxx.
Personally, I would grind out a basic Mage until you can craft the doomguards at least. You could use defender of argus over the shattered sun cleric. That should work OK in the meantime but there's no sub for a bunch of the other stuff. The deck probably won't work without them.
Ah, I read that wrong. I thought you only had those cards.
If you're doing all of Naxx, the Undertaker and Zombie Chow might work out as a bit of a sub for the 1 drops. If not, use any 1 drops you have. They're mostly 1-2s or 2-1s; they can work to activate the Knife Juggler cheaply. You really want the abusive to activate the egg, too, though.
A Chillwind Yeti can work in place of the Dark Iron Dwarf until you get it, but again, you want another way to activate the egg. You could consider Sunfury Protects for that, actually, rather than the 1 drops.
Yea, I will try to craft the undertake and zombie by grinding for nax. Thanks for the help
I know you are trying to do this F2P but I will always tell people that are starting. If you can save up for nax... only $5 a week of [allowance/salary/fast foot & bar money] do it. the difference between buying nax money in packs while farming gold for compared with the flipped way of doing it is SIGNIFICANT.
Also spending a full month farming gold for cards when you could be running the arena and having fun playing the game seems silly.
Unless you seriously cant save $25 in a month in any way [Its no problem if you can't everyone has different circumstances] it is an awful idea to think "Hearthstone is F2P so I shouldn't spend a dime."
Im 1.5 Months in and F2P other than buying naxx and I cant imagine grinding naxx gold as a beginner. I started grinding gold then I said fuck it and bought the wings after saving gold for a week with nothing to show.
Otherwise, my only other tip is do a TON of research into the arena. Make sure you understand tempo, card advantage, usefulness of card draw, and stats of efficient and inefficient minions of equal mana cost [aka why magma rager sucks and why senjin is boss].
Those are some of the most basic things I feel are important for beginner level arena that helped me learn to draft and play arena in the 1.5 months I'v been playing.

I think I'll end up buying it, was hoping to be 100% F2P but don't think that is very logical. Thanks for all of the advice.
Done Marco and Uyappy. I didn't d/e Velen though.
Currently I am sitting at 285 dust. So should i craft the flame imp next (i have one already), and the wolf?

According to this thread, I should d/e velen, which make make me have 685 dust.
EDIT: D/e Velen, how should I begin my crafting?
