with Prince Valanar, Keleseth, and Taldaram being revealed I think it's a very odd and boring choice for them to go back to these style of cards after the powerhouse set that was ungoro.
Because 'Renoesque' cards make for a more interesting way of deckbuilding. They also make you think about what to put into a deck rather than 'Ill just put two of everything in because it's good'
This. Cards that change the way you think about deck building are interesting. Wether it's Reno, kazakus, or Taldaram things that make you build different are good. They may not always be powerful but exploring can be fun.
I understand concerns however we should give them a try first. Also remember sets arent created in a vaccum. They are meant to interact with eachother through out its lifecycle (and in wild).
Concerns with Valanar I can understand better. He is the most lacking of the 3. Perhaps there will be something else in the set, or future sets, that will push him forward. Who knows till we see it all.
Because tehy said they would. They flat out said, when questioned about Reno rotating, that singleton concepts were interesting and that they were going to explore it again in other ways.
The idea is a solid one, you can have a weaker/ more restricted deck but we will give you a strong Legendary in return. Unfortunately these Princes are way below the power level of Reno or Kazakhus (which I don't think were OP to begin with).

The 2 mana version is extremely weak and in a spot that mos tdecks really REALLY want to fill up with reliable cards.
The 3 mana version is a Johnny card. It's a card does something completely odd and nonsense that challenges you to try to figure out. Hobgoblin is the perfect example of such a card. An easier to solve example was Curator. Cards that aren't the most obvious but MAY do something if you could figure it out.
Maybe Prince Malchezar or other cards that give you random legendaries needed a nerf. It's the only thing I can think of while looking at these horrible 3 legendaries. What were they thinking making these cards so weak when their limitation to deck building is so significant.
Yah I really hate when they make cards that you can build around. They need to just print as many random cards as possible with no synergy. Basically constructed should be exactly the same as arena.
honestly if it was for me i'd make Hearthstone players to not be able to put multiple copies of any card into their decks, that weakens aggro by a whole lot and makes for more interesting decks, also it'd enables a lot more different cards to see play, and aggro would be really harder to do.

One does not simply walk into Mordor,
unless they want to be the best they can be.
