It's one of my favourite cards in the game, a really good Control tool that also helps Combo. It's perfectly fine, easy to play around and easy to counter. It allows the Mage class to play both Control and Combo decks, which is important, we want deck diversity and strategy diversity, not just have everyone playing Curvestone.
That being said, it is very likely to get rotated into Hall of Fame next year because Blizzard wants to force people to come up with other strategies for Mage that are not Combo or Control. This is not great, it will remove deck diversity, but at the same time, I understand them not wanting decks that have existed since Beta to be around in Standard.
However, since the card is perfectly fine, there is no need to Nerf it. Rotating the card in and out of Standard will allow them to decide what Archtypes people can play as Mages, while keeping the diversity of the class in Wild intact.
Blizzard's rotation policy is shit. If they did not rotate out cards forever, rotation would be a better experience.
Not that I hate it, but Ice block has overstayed its welcome. And now that it's even common for a player to get more than two of them in a game, it's way too much.
More fundamentally, I really don't think it's good for the game to keep any cards in standard forever. All of basic and classic should go to wild in my opinion.

Have you ever played Primordial Glyph in Wild games? You cannot always get great spells or what you need as you can in Standard. It's Blizzard's fault to publish powerful discover cards right after the standard rotation because they must have considered that there will be a limited card pool.
Ice block is iconic mage secret and has been staple in lot of decks... too many decks. Although I like the idea behind the card, maybe its time to hall of fame it.
nerf or rotate it because its not fun to play against
Is Sunkeeper Tarim fun to play against? Is Deathwing fun to play aginst? Is Bloodlust fun to play against? Is any taunt minion fun to play against when you are 2 damage away from win?
just limit the amount of playable ice blocks per game. playing against 3-4 ice blocks in a row when you've basically already won the game just feels incredibly shallow, when you lose it feels super dirty and almost like you got cheated because u were 30hp vs 1hp before. leave ice block in the game, don't nerf it just make it max 2 ice blocks per game.
I don't thing it shoukd be rotated out or nerfed. But i would like to see more counter possibillities. A good vanilla minion that has the effekt, "transform an enemy secret into a random other one". Somthing like this would be nice,
Or you could just play the minion that literally eats your opponents secrets. Eater of Secrets
Or Ice block could be simply nerfed without forcing people to play cards that are so and so against one class out of 9.
Technically it's "so and so against three classes out of nine", as both Paladins & Hunters have secrets too. Granted, Paladin & Hunter secret cards are nowhere near as annoying as Ice Block...

What about Paladin? They can play at least 3 copies of the same legendary. Blizzard fucked up these things.
I think the main problem with ice Block isn't the card in itself, is the fact that you can get so many copies of it because of the insane amount of random mage card that can be generated.
Uff..... now you will start. I knew it. I just told you ice block doen't allow to play. You don't allow the people to speak and think.
And you clearly didn't read what I replied to that. You are saying Ice Block doesn't allow play, that is factually incorrect, you should know this yourself, it's just for whatever reason you decide to ignore reality. I said before, I allow people to speak and think. Actually, I would love it if you gave it even more thought, I still have hopes that by thinking you will actually manage to reach reality.
And just please try and correct before you speak. It's fine to speak, but the moment what you speak is factually incorrect, what option do people have other than to correct you?
No man I will not read it. Every time you are writing the same things. It is bored. People are not allowed to think that Ice block is too op without receving your answer. That is every time the same, you can use Eater of secret, you are not using the counters that blizzard gave to you and bla bla bla every time the same shit. It is bored. I just told you my opinion for me ice block is op like primordial glyph and both deserve a nerf, Eater of secret is not a counter because it is a shitty card. Please man stop to answer to all my opinions related to this things it is bored and you will not change my ideas.
Just give up. This guy is impossible. If you disagree with him, he will just keep stubbornly repeating himself because he cannot conceive how opinions other than his own can even exist.

It feels dirty to play, not just to lose to. Getting a 3rd Ice Block from any effect feels really dirty. It should be impossible to generate or discover Ice Blocks.

Well, that is just a problem of you not wanting to live in reality. I write the same things because I'm repeating facts to you, you just don't want to live with facts, for some reason I don't understand.
Eater of Secrets IS A COUNTER. It doens't matter if the card is bad against neutral Matchups, you cannot dictate that the card is not a counter simply because you don't like it, that is completely illogical, Eater of Secrets has the same effect written on the card regardless of whether you want it or not to have. It's Card text still counters all Secrets.
But don't worry, I will indeed stop answering to you because it is too frustrating trying to bring people down to reality when they clearly don't want to. If you want to keep living in that fantasy world of yours, good luck. I will just put you on ignore so I don't have to read nonsense...
What are you going to say next? That the Earth is flat because in your opinion it is? Jesus... Ignoring is the best, waste of time trying to help.
Eater of secrets is poorly designed trash and ice block is un-interactive and severely limits design space for mage.

You have started, this will be an endless conversation so bored. Look the datas. Everything that you are writing is pointless. 60% of the people are hating ice block. Nothing to see or discuss. And it will not be your papyrus that will change the people's opinion.
60% of people who are always like "Nerf this goddamn x, and let us find our next victim." You will keep losing to good cards. You will keep creating nerf threads for good cards. This is what hearthpwn is for, incompetent netdeckers.
it's a great card, makes the game into less than *smorc* face race *smorc* swarm *smorc* charge *smorc* and allows styles of play different to *smorc* to exist. overall it makes the game a lot mroe varied and makes people think when building their decks by adjusting tech instead of just filling the deck with *smorc* and charge *smorc* cards and calling it a day...god i hated face hunter era and Wotgs, it was just *smorc* everywhere.
Just give up. This guy is impossible. If you disagree with him, he will just keep stubbornly repeating himself because he cannot conceive how opinions other than his own can even exist.
Yeah, it's funny, repeating facts somehow doesn't make people want to rethink their opinion. One would hope facts would be irrefutable, but some people enjoy skipping over facts to further their hate towards something.
Facts..?
You can call your opinions facts all you want, won't make it true.

We need more cards like Loatheb in standart. Than it would be fine.
Hope is an illusion.
