Once again i tell myself that i must have a really sad life to keep playing a game with such a pathetic/toxic player base
You and me must have a very different concept of what is pathetic or not, because this is the best community ever and there is nothing pathetic about it. ;)
I think everyone has it backwards. You dont "Well Played" the loser. The loser should say "Well Played " to the winner. I always say "Thank you" if I win, and "Well Played" when I lose.
i „well played“ a guy when he played well tho. he can play well and also lose, you know.
I like it when they emote, it proves that they are not bots.
Bots can actually emote nowadays

Start of Year: Provoke the failure of 3 expansions, force nerfs on otherwise balanced cards, bring deckbuilding to an all-time low and get rotated one year earlier for being such a threat to the game's health. - Genn and Baku's historical entry on the White Book of Shit Design, shortly before retiring unpunished
To moloch 519 - You know, still there are players like me who want only to calmly talk about the winning deck or have some questions about strategy after losing...
His text: "What triggers me are people who try to add me after they loose. I usually prepare a small sentence like "salty?", accept the request, paste it and then remove the guy from the friendlist before he can answer :) I am sure this triggers them hard XDXDXD"
Sorry, I missed and clicked "Reply" instead of "Quote".
Yeah, I pretty much had exclusively negative experiences when people added me after a game with gloating because they did beat a deck they didnt like, salt because they lost plus pretty much always insults.
Sometimes. I always Thank my Opponent, win or lose, if the Game was a good one. I had a Big Spell Mage Mirror Match last night and it went down to the Wire. My opponent won with 2 Health left after we had 5 Turns of Fatigue. It was incredibly close.
I Thanked him, he Thanked me, we moved on.
I know. Politeness in Hearthstone .. What's the world coming to?
Have to admit that "Thanks" at the end is the one emote that annoys me. I generally take "Well Played" as good sportsmanship (unless I had a really bad draw/poor plays - or I conceded early - then its BM).
I Will often try to add someone after a game (whether I win or lose) because I thought it was an awesome match or something really wild happened either way. People almost never accept though. Its sad that BM is assumed...
I "Thanks" if I am only playing for a quest and I always play awfully in the process so the game is kind of a waste of their time, thanks are just polite for wasting someones time in my opinion
My answer is anger. I usually add them to say "FUCK YOU!"
What is it that makes you angry tho? The losing or the BM? I mean, if your opponent beats you, they beat you... it doesn't really matter if they say thanks or greetings or oops or whatever... You can't change the way people emote but you can change the way you deal with it... or just squelch
I like to give people the benefit of the doubt, but for the most part it is a let down and they BM. I do not react in kind I have been squelching at the onset of my games, sometimes I forget but am reminded quickly, the ones that I do not care for are when they begin the toxic BM after gaining an advantage and highrolling the win. Win gracefully and move on please...

Dead but dreaming

It's just some dumb kid, who cares?
Free to try and find a game, dealing cards for sorrow, cards for pain.

If someone saying "thanks" can spur you to go out of their way to insult them, you should probably just squelch at the start of every round.
squelch. best option in the game.
i „well played“ a guy when he played well tho. he can play well and also lose, you know.
I never hear any emotes, because I squelch my opponents at the start of the game
i thought the BM finish of choice was "Greetings" or "Wow"
I usually only use thanks when I win my last gast to reach rank5, because it means I'm done with ladder for the season.
I tried having fun once. It was awful.

Is "Thanks" emote ever not used to BM?

They have medication for that.

I have altered some files in my Hearthstone folder so that I can use my "you're welcome" emote in response.
