When I went to play hearthstone today, I was hit with a realization. I have been playing since the game's release, and I think this is the most I have ever enjoyed it. It is a month and a half into the expansion; there are decks of every archetype I enjoy playing, no deck is so prevalent on ladder that I am tired of facing it, and I constantly feel like I am making interesting decisions when I am playing the game.
I cannot believe they accomplished all of this with one expansion. It's not perfect, of course, but it's pretty incredible. I know that there are still decks out there that people dislike, I personally find taunt warrior pretty boring, but nothing is statistically over-performing.
tl;dr Thank you Blizzard for this awesome game, please take more of my money.
Been playing since Beta, and I also feel the same. So many decent decks available, a lot diversity and room for experimentation. Even in the top of the competitive ladder there is much more diversity than ever before.
Good job indeed!

Yes. There's pirates, everything that counters pirates, and nothing else.
So diverse.
The reason it "seems" so diverse is because the top meta deck has more counter options than it has in the past. But, let's be honest with ourselves here. The meta, as a whole, is 70% aggro, which is just as non-diverse as it's always been.
Ive been playing since beta and this is actually the most bored I've been with HS so far (not the most annoyed, the most bored, most annoying were undertaker and buzzard and ofc the ahaman bots, the dark ages of HS) but i think the game has finally reached a stage where most decks are just curvestone or aggro because small minions are so fkin powerful, they all feel the exact same and its just plain boring to me, there ofc are exception but those suck even worse ... quest rogue ... not op but you either reck it or it recks u, no fun at all, no inbetween
and since those 3 types are basically the whole HS scene atm most games are decided very early and very few flip in the late game, its just boring, its almost as if most games are what druid mirror used to be

yeah sure...
so you are prefering a meta game in which we have one deck to rule them all ? one deck which you will face in like 80% of your games on ladder like in undertaker hunter, secret pala, midrange shaman, pirate warrior , aggro shaman meta ?
I think that you should just quit HS because if you think this meta is actually boring - you will never be able to enjoy HS again at anytime.

Just my 2 cents, why so hostile? Because I don't think the same way you do? XD internet i guess
See thread title, assume sarcastic salt post. Instead, it's a positive opinion. Good stuff.
Assumed the same. Though I felt like I was descending into a salt mine the further down I read. Leave it to the HS community to turn something positive into pure sodium chloride.
Yeah Blizzard...thank you for one of the most toxic metas ever...
@Purpenflub, you forgot to mark your post with *sarcasm*
whiners gonna whine, haters gonna hate. Some people can't stand positivity. How many cancer warriors or "cancer" quest rogues have you played against today? They definitely have died down to being average and not extremely often.
The meta is decent but too strictly defined. You have very defined powerhouse cards and a very low overall card count in standard, and add to that that the matchups are too polarized - too many 70/30s and too few 60/40s. Basically it adds up to "buy yourself this, and then we'll let you win". It's a very prevalent trend and it is largely class-based, probably to induce more buys.
(And no, that is not a whine because I don't have the cards, my collection is completely fine)
But I'm glad the meta is a bit slower and requires more thinking. It is definitely better now than it was before Un'Goro.

100% agree !!!
I think it was back in 2015 when I enjoyed the game as much as today for the last time!

After how terrible gadgetzan was, this meta is definitely a godsend.

At least not only 1 class is tier 1 like it was in shamanstone. Diversity is pretty good. This meta isn't perfect but very good.
One day this game will stop existing. I can't wait.
I like it too. I'm so happy to not fight Jade decks all the time. And evey one that I have encountered, I've beaten.
I guess you haven't played against Rogue Quest yet, have you?
Excellent meta, All the major food groups are represented and the meta hasn't (can't?) be solved such that one deck is optimal for any period of time.
Well Met, Team 5.
