The best suggestion I've seen, by far, was simply making Buzzard a Legendary card. I know that would never happen but it was the best solution. Changing the mana cost to 3 wasn't good enough and 4+ wouldve been terrible (even though thats what they did). 4 mana 3/3 (Maybe 2/3) was the next best thing to making it Legendary imo but I'd still rather deal with only 1 Buzzard the way it is than 2 slightly less good versions. The 5 mana 3/2 nerf was excessive.
Leeroy to 5 mana is meh. Won't change much other than miracle rogue being built entirely around Leeroy. Handlock played Leeroy effectively also but it wasn't at all a requirement for the deck. Leeroy is still really good and will see plenty of play.
I've been mulling on this for awhile, and I don't think this nerf is as bad as its face value is making it out to be. Sure 5 mana is a lot, but that 1 health and attack matters in a ton of matchups. No longer can priests steal your buzzard, and no longer will it die to hero powers, 1 wild pyromancer aoe, whirlwind, death's bite's deathrattle, or cruel taskmaster. You put that thing behind a taunt later on in the game when some removal has already been used, and it could be effective, in theory. It might also be better with snake trap now. I think the buzzard could be a good one-of in more controlly hunter decks.
I recall a thread when someone asked why nobody uses Raid Leader in Zoo if it has such synergy. The answer was simple: it has 2 health. Lots of things in this game do 2 damage. Sure, it has become immune to various 1 damage sources, but it doesn't do much. If it was 2/3 I think I could stomach it somewhat.
As it stands, Buzzard will likely go extinct. While this won't necessarily kill Hunter - Trap Hunter is still going strong, I imagine - it severely limits their card draw, forcing them to rely either on Cult Master or other such card draw engine.
And then there's Arena!Hunter which is likely bleeding out its last fluids as we speak.
I agree. That does make sense, but zoo is an aggro board control deck which plays a lot differently, and has a different mana curve compared to a control deck. There are tons of 2 damage board wipes that are used early on for example.
I've played a lot of control games and sometimes your opponent just doesn't have an answer for everything. So if they can't answer the Buzzard you can just pump out beast after beast. I am currently trying to make a more late game focused board control hunter, but I feel like it needs more draw and possibly some other mechanics to it. I'm also trying to bring back the Tundra Rhino for that very reason. If they can't kill it, it can get out of control.
Also a 3 health buzzard would be very good. A lot of things deal 2, but not 3 damage. At 1 health it is very fragile, but with 2 health its survivability has increased a considerable amount.
Also I'm not saying that it is better or worse than before. Because I don't know that. All I am saying is that it seems a little bit better than what people are making it out to be, albeit it might not be that great either.
I don't see why the 5 mana 3/2 would be excessive honestly... Right now it's the best card draw in game, since you don't play it turn 2 it's a high combo material card that let you cycle way too much into your deck to simply pull your other out of control cards like Hunter's Mark (another ridiculous cost/ effect card btw...).
Whether you play it with UTH or simply pull a Rhino the previous turn and have a few low cost beasts in hand you turn into a miracle turn but since it's not Miracle Rogue then most people say it's fine. I don't see the fun in seeing ANY deck being able to draw 5 or 6 cards more than you do. It's simply unbalanced.
I'm pretty sure that right now at rank 12 i face 8 Hunter our of 10 games and whatever the deck list it's always the same routine, they draw , clear your board whatever you have with UTH/ Mark or Kill Command and you are then racing for a huge comeback IF you're not already dead.
The Hunter synergy / cards look simply badly designed. Now will it means that all of them will simply go rush and fetch their old Zoo deck? Probably many will do (hunter players mostly vanished after the previous UTH nerf without even checking if the class was still viable) since both decks are very cheap to build and that's a very attractive side for the self-called casual players that go balistic and call you P2W player as soon as you play any legendary rarity card.
All i can hope for is a more diversified playing field. Right now after 5 seasons i know i will never turn into the Legendary Ranking to unlock the card back but i still play Ranked games simply because people quit too easily in Casual... Honestly it's not very intertaining given the current decks i face, 70% of the games i face Hunter, the last 30% are a mix of Zoo or Priest. I don't care who will be the next powerhouse hero once the Nerf hit, i just want to see more possible decks with a close enough chance to win so people stop just picking the high winning % deck.
About Leeroy i think we all see it coming for a long time now. I still believe that Rogue isn't dead since Gadgetzan is still here an so is shadowstep. It will just have to be a different way to win the game, maybe with Assassin's Blade back in the deck list. Anyway, i believe that the OTK everybody was crying about 2 months ago are now very less likely.
In the end i believe that everybody will be testing a lot of things for the next season and i'm glad about that. Until some streamer will come up with the next big thing and everyone will jump onto the bandwaggon, but if that happens i hope it will be a very expensive deck to craft, that would be the only way to prevent everybody and their sisters to play it.
I agree it was over nerfed at 5 mana for a 3/2 it will become the least value card in the game. Buzzard would not be a prob without uth... All they had to do was change unleash to summon non beasts and both cards would be usefull
I really don't care either way as I'm not a fan of the combo but... I gotta say its a bit much
5 mana for a card that's stats equal 5.. Currently we base value on cards with total stats double the cost or higher.. I mean look at what's out there... 4/5 for 4... Why would someone use it. I mean u could only do the combo at 8 mana and at that point ud be better off with auctioner and getting draws from spells.. Hunter uses quite a few spells anyways.
Yea I see buzzard as a pointless card now. Uth should have been the target..
I feel with this nerf of leeroy.... Some other controlish legendary should get hit as well.. I mean leeroy is pretty big deal in rush based decks. Already aggro rush decks can't compete with the control decks. They just have too many answers to delay the game.. Until the big boys drop... Idk.. Just a thought....
It seems like developers really support zoo style gameplay (lots of minions).
Anyway, I still prefer to face hunter instead of brainless and repetitive zoo (with possibility of being bot). Buzzard is clearly overnerfed. At the end of the month, this game is gonna go back to zoo meta again.
Even at 5 mana for Leeroy i still believe that he will be played anyway. It won't be in the same way as he was before (some OTK combo in most cases) but he's still a strong finisher.
People will DE him for full value when the nerf hit but in the end they will probably craft him at some point. Unless the meta is filled with only one or two decks that will never use him...
The Discard mechanic should actually force you to discard something. And it would make sense given that the Hero power of the Warlock is a drawing mechanic, thus you should always be able to play your undercosted card by loosing some life to fuel your discard.

As for keeroy. Thrilled can't wait to dust mine
Damn straight son!!!! Get you some win lord...to the face!
(I obviously love shaman)
Humperdink Humperdink Humperdink!!!

Depends on what you need. Leeroy is still better for combos, but Alkir is only 3 extra mana for Taunt, divine shield, and 3 extra health.
