There is actually a benefit to your oppponent bm'ing. I experienced in lower ranks people BM'ing me with emotes before the game was done. Games where a mage with one card in hand and you on 8hp says well played before he/she can play the obvious Pyroblast you have in hand. I had two turns lethal at that time and a self heal in hand (playing C'thun Priest sometimes when WotG was released). Healed myself to 20 with the healing c'thun minion priest had (forgot the name) and heropower, got to go face to set up lethal for sure. Mage had only pyroblast so couldn't kill me.
Tl;dr I could predict the play of my opponent because of a small bm-ing emote. Reading your opponents emotes is a form of play.
Yet moral deficiency and destructive behaviors don't go away by turning a blind eye.
They also don't go away because you whined about them on a third-party message board.
No one -- literally not one person -- who reads this thread is going to change their behavior.
In fact, I'd say the more destructive behavior here is cluttering up the forum with more of these asinine "BM" threads when there have already been a million of them. You can Squelch your Hearthstone opponent, but the rest of us have no reasonable way to filter idiotic threads off the list, other than to report them, which causes extra work for the mods.
Wow.. Your actions oppose to what you're saying. You're literally raging at a person who expresses their frustration. No wonder how you get annoyed and whine about simplest things in games, but play the "I'm cool bro so should everyone else" on the forums. Since when commenting on a post related to the topic is considered as cluttering up the forums? People who look around the forums, pick someone and criticize them harshly for no solid reason are considered no lifers. You are actually belittling yourself by acting like this. Have fun with your crooked perception.
I think with the prevalence of net decks and aggro decks bm is more common. I constantly see idiots bm when they do something I predicted 4 turns earlier. Once I punish their obvious plays I start bming every time possible
All of these threads could go away if only Blizzard would add in autosquelch. Then the "skillful" and "genuine" emoters could do their thing and people like me who get tilted when they forget to squelch could blissfully ignore them and have a better gaming experience. There is literally no downside to adding in autosquelch, and the fact that that it's still not there speaks volumes about Blizzards contempt and arrogance toward their players. The even sadder thing is the people who defend Blizzards deficiencies in this area.
Actually I've found less bm since the release of Un'goro but during MSoG I've faced tons of them, don't know why that shift but anyway I agree that an auto-squelch option will be appreciated otherwise I'll just spent 1 sec. to mute them manually.

No, what I'm doing is pointing out that this frustration has already been expressed multiple times in these forums, so there was no need to create another thread about it. The original poster and everyone else who's upset about sarcastic emotes should use the Search function and vent on one of those older threads.
I'm further pointing out, to you in particular, that your "blind eye" comment was especially inane for the reasons stated above. If you think you're "making a difference" by posting your thoughts here, you needed to be informed of your error. You're welcome.
This is not a moral issue, since any harm done is 100 percent in the mind of the offended. Emotes in and of themselves are completely innocuous. The only exception is spam, which: A) is limited by the game itself, and B) can be further controlled by Squelch.

Granted there a bunch of these posts, it still gives the user an opportunity to do something they can't do in the game which is to actually have a conversation with other players. You then to go on to say that emoting is innocuous and is 100% in the mind of those offended. Sometimes emotes are misinterpreted but a lot of times emotes are used to intentionally upset or bother someone. You can't really blame someone for being bothered by saying the intention of bothering them was never there to begin with. I think your error might be responding to the posts. You're welcome.

Yes, I can, and I do.
Unless they are spamming (an exception I did mention), you cannot claim to know the intention of the person emoting.
Therefore, you CHOOSE to be bothered by it.
Therefore, YOU are at fault, regardless of the other person's intention.
Moreover, you are doubly to blame if you do not Squelch at the start of every game, since you already know you are incapable of accepting any emote in a positive light.

Saw this thread and thought exactly this. Just played a match vs a Burn Mage as Midrange Pala. He threw out some Greetings when he picked up unexpected spells to save him, I did the same when I healed just out of range a few turns in a row. Anyway, I won and sent a friend request after. He accepted and didn't even try to flame me. Was just a 'GG, crazy fun game!' We chatted a bit about it and went on our way.
Now strategical BM is clearly a thing that tilts some of you so I'm going to make sure I do it more often now. Justice demands retribution!
Emotes don't usually bother me. Things that do bother me are:
1) When your opponent intentionally ignores lethal damage and essentially forces you either to concede or spend another 5 turns getting toyed with.
2) When you opponent plays a bunch of cards, even though they have the win on the board.
3) And the #1, when someone adds to as a friend for sole purpose of talking $#!+
3.5) The super-slow thing is annoying, too, but someone already mentioned, you can just walk away for a bit.
Mostly agreed, and I'll add disconnecting rather be than concede when you have them beat. I see Pirate Warriors do this more than anyone else.
Re:2, I try to give the benefit of the doubt. They could be one or two cards away from a quest and just want to collect their gold. In general, though, I agree.

So you're telling me hotchickgamergurl95 isn't a hot chick gamer girl but a 45 year old man?
OT: Yeah I've noticed people have been jerks lately while on ladder. Especially the warriors with double mortal strike about to die the next turn.
