oh my god they emoted at you. How dare they. Let's go make a broad statement on the forum about toxic players because of that.
Is this your first video game? Do you know what actual toxic players are? I've had people message me in games telling me to kill myself. That is what toxic means. I'm jealous that this is what you consider toxic.
I wish people would get over the emote crap. Yeah when they spam it they are being asses and you can squelch. BUT when I emote I do it because I can't talk to them. They make a good play I say well played. When I first enter I greet them. Everyone seems to think any emote is people being ass hats.
Yeah I hate that, snarky emotes are so cowardly. In real life there are real consequences for being a dick intentionally. It's the internet so you can't do a thing about it.
the emotes are intended for BM and the devs know it.
"Thanks" for example (which sounds awfully sarcastic often especially with medivh) can not really be used as a "friendly" emote, the only emotes id consider friendly is a well played and or greetings (but even these can be triggering for some people) I just dont really know whats the problem with some people arent we allowed to mock each other a bit anymore ? Personally i think thats kind of part of the fun isn't it ? sure some people go to the extreme with the spam but leaving an "amazing" after an obvious misplay i think is kinda funny.
Blizzard offers the option to spam emotes and let the timer run out. Just put your phone, tablet down or walk away from computer until its your turn . If you complain, you give every toxic player out there a reason to do it again. They just want a rise. And a forum dedicated to it is like winning a war to them.
Oh no I get offended when people emote me. Seriously? How sensitive you have to be? Any social skills?? I mean it's not really hard to squelch you know.
Why are people so easily triggered? I always greet people when i start the game. And not just in hearthstone i always greet people in games no matter is it Hearthstone, Warcraft or some 3rd rated redneck MMO. For me it's just more normal thing in the world. Most people are like this. You just got triggered because you lost, didn't you? And that's the entire point of this topic. It's not that other people are mean it's just that you are too easily butthurt.

Theres no perma-quelch in the options. Plus I like to give people a chance to be nice, or even razz if I make a mistake.
And my lack of social skills has NOTHING to do with scripted emotes.
Oddly I find stickied responses a little more irritating than truly toxic text. Some twat in League tries to flex his e-peen and I giggle. I know where he stands, usually pretty early. Someone being a dick at the end of an otherwise good game and it kills the experience.
Also I like the number of people who complain about complaining. Its hilarious!
No, that's not toxic. If you think that's toxic, go play League of Legends or CS:GO and then tell me that someone emoting pre-scripted expressions at you is toxic. Just squelch someone at the beginning of the game and grow the fuck up.
Casual is a lot worse than ranked, at least to me. If I see a super aggro deck in ranked, at least I understand why. In casual, to get 100 gold each day I guess? I just kind of gave up on casual except for daily quests where I go in planning to not win.
I'm amazed by how someone can think that some pre-scripted emote are toxic. Then I remember of people asking for a free chat where both players can wrote during the match and I remember why that was never done.

For what profit is it to a man, if he gains the world and loses his own soul?

To upset people who think casual is a place to go for easy wins against weak decks.

I swear its like half my losses today have ended in 'thanks' I thought this game had a relatively non-toxic community
If it's on the internet it's almost certainly populated by angry teenagers, socially inept 20somethings and old men pretending to be girls.
Squelch to remove their ability to be toxic (more or less).

Bitch i'm Willy Wonka!
Emotes don't usually bother me. Things that do bother me are:
1) When your opponent intentionally ignores lethal damage and essentially forces you either to concede or spend another 5 turns getting toyed with.
2) When you opponent plays a bunch of cards, even though they have the win on the board.
3) And the #1, when someone adds to as a friend for sole purpose of talking $#!+
3.5) The super-slow thing is annoying, too, but someone already mentioned, you can just walk away for a bit.
Btw, we need the sorry expression again.
