If you have no board clears then yes it will be. Midrange Hunter can build a board quick with sticky minions, they can however can be shut down pretty hard with one or two well timed board clears. Houndmaster and crackling razormaw are powerful tempo plays that can decide a game

When life gives you lemons, trade'em for limes and get some Coronas!
If they run Spikeridge Steed, it hard carries the deck. I've always found it too punishing unless I got lucky picking up an owl via the macaw. If they don't run you down earlier, that's the game stopper that I've been finding.

Really comes down to midrange paladin opening. But good board clears, that follow stall turns with stone hill defenders, can help. Also, getting aldor to hit lions is crucial. If you can make it to turn eight you should win

I run 1 consecrate 1 truesilver in my variation.
I am guessing I am suppose to kill the rat pack every time even if it's not as efficient as going face, so he doesn't get value off the 1/1 rats? I generally do but if I feel that I get more value from going face like lets say I have a 4/4 murloc i'd just go face, but I feel like i've lost quite a number of games vs. Hunter cause they end up buffing the rat and I lose board / I don't draw my consecration.
What is more important, racing the hunter for face damage, or board control vs. midrange hunter?

Sorry I am the one playing murlock paladin vs. midrange hunter.
I actually just lost a game where I used spikeridge steed but he hound mastered his lion.
This is my midrange Hunter deck list. It is a very good deck that got me to tank 9 last Season. I could have gotten to rank 5 last season, but I did not have the time to play.
With this deck list, I usually do good against most match ups. Control paladin/murloc paladin are 50% win rate. They are tough, but not unbeatable!

Thats how it starts. The fever, the rage, the feeling of powerlessness that turns a good men...cruel.

Liked this midrange/control version. Trying it out with some tweaks (dont have 6 cards).

Title.
Midrange hunter seems to be the hardest matchup for me.

Just go a more control route and you'll easily squash hunter.
I always run 1-2 Hungry Crabs in my Midrange deck.
Turn 1 - Alley Cat
Turn 2 - Hungry Crab their Murloc
GG.
