As you are all probably aware there are around 15,000 people at legend this month on the EU servers. This is a crazy number relative to the pre-floor days. I would argue that it both devalues the achievement of hitting legend and dilutes the quality of the players at this rank.
Only above rank 5 does it have a significant impact as that is where the win streak stars end. From a purely competitive standpoint I'd argue that for this reason the rank 5 floor should be removed while the others remain.
lol you really think the rank 5 floor helps that much? It doesn't.
I sat at rank 5 and insta conceded to anyone that wasn't pirates for over 600 games this season while playing my anti-pirate deck so that's 600 stars generated at rank 5 and that's enough to create another 24 legend players that wouldn't have been their last season. If you factor in the several other pirate hunters I met alone we probably got well over 300 people into legend for free.
Lol the value of hitting legend ... you mean the grind hitting legend is not skilful so removing the floor rank will in my opinion just make it more grindy
Everyone thinks that the rankes floors are making it MUCH MUCH easier to get legend for some reason, it actually does very little - it's only easie aound rank 5 and low 4 and if you can't win beyond that you won't get there anyway.
There's simply just a lot of old players that are returning to the game because of the rotation removing a lot of cards that should never have been printed (Tunnel Trogg ect.) and then there's a lot of people that get to legend for their first time because the game is a lot more fun to play so you spend more time on it. (I've talked with a lot of people that took a break during Gadgetzan and even some from the expansion before, they're all returning to the game because it's fun again - at least for now)
No? Hitting legend feels good. Video games and entertainment in general have a general goal of making people feel good. If 20000 people hit legend that couldn't before are happy then that is far more important to me than the 100 or so guys on a message board upset because they get their self worth from a card game.
I don't see how it devalues Legend. The grind is still the same bar some people that would have oscillated around Rank 5-6. For them it may be slower or you may lose a few from being discouraged/tilted but I don't think we're talking tens of thousands different.
While it may not be your intent OP, you kind of come off somewhat elitist thinking that more people that make to Legend devalues it in some way.

Rank floors and increased no. of players have contributed to number high numbers of players getting to legend. But, the biggest contribution is the number of strong decks that are self piloting, with a very low skill cap. One example is quest rogue. It doesn't take a lot of effort to get a good mastery of how to play quest rogue. It's so strong and it seals the win in a low number of turns. More often than other decks, there are many opportunities where you just win outright due to your draws.

Thank you for the response. It wasn't from my standpoint I was stating it, I've seen several pros switch servers in an attempt to maintain a high legend rank due to the flooding on the EU servers. So for the pros it's been detrimental (it's a million miles away from affecting me).
I think the problem is not the floors, but the Cavern quest... I read about many people who reached the legend thanks to this deck... it is OP, low cost, easy to play... blizzard should make an adjustment
Floors are good for the game. We can experiment on Rank 5 and actually try to have more fun with a variety of decks and try to match them against ranked decks without the fear of losing rank.

It is one of the best wins to have the rsnk floors.. going from 5 to legend is still the same thing, so it should stay like this..
Yeah, a toast!
I just hit the legend and i was cca 21k, but I met palyers throughout my climb with over 25k rank...
So the number of legend players doubled in each region this month?
China had over 30k legend players before the rank floor implementation. Imagine having 60k legend points on the China server
Floors are good. I see more experimental decks and tech choices near the floor ranks. Variety equals more fun for me.

Blizzard constantly Devalues achievements in their games by making them easier to achieve. Example: all of wow.
What is wrong if more players reached legend rank? The more the merrier! Implementing floor is one of the greatest thing Blizzard has done.
Death to all who oppose the Horde!

Remove floor and each rank must have at least 10 stars. Legend only for chosen. Another EleGiggle thread.
One day this game will stop existing. I can't wait.
There are around 30k legend to be exact

"we don't wanna see so much people in legend rank" cit. Blizzard
The legend rank is become shit.
